 Moz, you are probably going to feel insulted again, but I have always perceived the purpose of your critique of QDK as solely to needle Mike...same for Cera. On the flip side, Mike has done more than a fair bit of needling himself.

 PS: no insult intended, im sure I'm voicing a fair bit of consensus from others too...risking being presumptuous here, but WTH.

For the record I supported De Kock getting his first chance.....said he looks like a test 6 or 7 to me......said he shouldn't play in the WC....pointed out his bat/pad problem.
I have no idea if he will handle the best quicks on a fast wicket.....as a very short chap his task is more difficult. Take it this way, to get the ball at a nasty head height, with the angle of bounce you can pitch the ball a foot closer to the bat with Quinton. That gives him less time to react to short balls. 
But he has a great eye and reflexes. Anything less than top bowling and he can be very dangerous. 

 Moz, there's no real other options...I understand grey much better than black or white, like most people. Absolutes are difficult to really comprehend for clever people.

Can't disagree after his last few knocks and the lack of success for Miller and Rossouw. At this point, flawed or not, he seems to be the best bet.

But consider the long list of players you have hyped who are never going to be test successes....Kirchner, Whitehead, JJ, Taute, Esterhosen, Stepfontein, Goosen, Jantjies, Reinach, Coenie, Greyling, Kruger, Quince, Stephanie, Coetzee, Kolisi, Chiliboy.....to name a few.
