Wirg due regard to their general performance - inclusive of attack and defensive play - my rating of the players are as follows:
15  Willie le Roux       =    8/1014  Cornal Hendricks  =    6/1013  Jesse Kriel          =     8/1012  Damian de Allende =   8/1011  Bryan Habana      =    6/1010  Handre Pollard      =   8/10  9  Ruan Pienaar       =   5,5/10  8  Schalk Burger      =   7,5/10  7  Francois Louw     =   5,5/10  6  Heinrich Brussow  =   7,5/10  5  Lood de Jager      =    8/10  4  Eben Etzebeth     =    8/10  3  Jannie du Plessis  =   5,5/10  2  Bismarck du Plessis =  7/10  1  Beast                 =    6/10
The best players today was by some distance -
Le Roux, Kriel, De Allende, Pollard, De Jager and Etzebeth
With the exception of Le Roux - the other 5 players are all 23 years of age or younger.  Naas was correct these players should have been used two years ago and that is a fact of life.   It is also time to replace some of the other older players - some are really replaceable.

Kriel two years ago wasn't even playing for Bools....he was playing junior rugby....but keep on making a fool of yourself Tokkie. As for your ratings, I could have picked those before the game. They aren't performance ratings they are favorites ratings.

So Draad you obviously thought Kriel and de Allende defended well.

You brainless dud - it was not me who said what I wrote - it was Naas Botha.   Those ratings was bloody near the mark if you compare my ratings with the ratings of Rugby 365 - except for De Jager and Etzebeth whom I rated higher than they did.
I was also rather generous with rating of players like Jannie du Plessis - whom I rated higher than they did.  I do not rate players based on "favourites" but on performance.  I leave idiocy in rating favourites to you - you have a long record of that and make a constant fool of yourself in that regard.
I was very clear on the issue of De Allende and Kriel and said there is room for improvement in their defense, but I did not call them Jekylls and Hydes - I leave that kind of nastiness to you.

Moz,  they are the new kids and are finding their feet.  It gals me that they get blamed for all but global warming and apartheid.  We almost beat the Alblacks today.... playing them at their own game. Yes,  mistakes were made,  and yes we can't pick a team of rooks,  but why all the negativity about the team?  They are the best we have.  Last time I checked all the other senters are crocked. There is a case to be made for Jean as a better defender,  but your man Fransie is about as bad as you would make DA out to be. He's only a bit slower,  so will attempt less tackles.

I have no negativity about the team. But we lost both these games and as rugby fans it's interesting to debate why. I think centre defence, missing 31 per cent of tackles played a big role.

The good news is you can't teach speed but you can teach defence. Both Kriel and de Allende don't avoid contact as JJ did....nor are they terminally slow like Steppie. But they have no defensive nous.

We had better address that urgently.

Tokkie when you quote something several times with obvious approval...one has to assume you agree with it. But you look like a bit of a fool, Kriel wasn't playing senior rugby two years ago.

Just one question - Pollard played with Kriel in the 2013 JWC and Kriel played at 13 in that tournament.  He was even better than Pollard in some respects and it ws wrong of the Bulls not to bring him through earlier like they ultimately did with Pollard and they played them off the bench.   OK - Meyer was not to blame for that deficiency - but then Ludeke was a poor coach as well insofar as player identification is concerned - very much in the Meyer league.
I think that the other players like De Jager should have been used earlier he was available and so was De Allende.  Meyer made a fool of himself by running back to players like Botha, Matfield, Fourie, eic.  He should have known that it was a road to nowhere he was taking - especially since they were already well past their best and they were not good enough at the 2011 WC as well.
In general I agree with Naas - he may have gone a bit overboard in the case of Kriel but for the rest he was 100% correct.

HM used Stepfontein instead of Allende last year, and I heard nobody objecting.
