Whitelock got penalised - but should it have been more than one yellow?
Referees need to clamp down on a team that intentionally goes offside to slow down the opposition in the red zone.
On most of the best attacking movements many of the All Blacks were going offside content to give away a penalty rather a try.
I believe the Boks would have scored more tries today if the referee had clamped down earlier on the offside line.

Undoubtedly Shark. The abs are coached to cheat like this. Note also the ab holding onto Habana to stop him defending. Habana kept hitting at his arm to get loose. Incensed by this crooking Hababa then sails into a ruck illegally and gets pinged!!! A total travesty but an illustration of how these cheats play the game. Another thing had lood been playing for Iz ir nz against us he would have been given that try. Refs must drak with blatant red zone cheating and ab plauers tackling oppision players not involved in play ir holding onto plsyers. Wee abs and their coaches are a disgrace ti the game. Sorry ti have to sau this but its true. Coached to cheat. A totally cynical approach. IRB must take steps the deal with it.

JW what is very odd is the incident went on for a while in the open for all to see. Habana protested to the touchline but to no avail. This needs to be investigated.
We keep complaining about nz red zone offences. It came up a number of times also in the Super 15.Clearly the wee kiwis are coached to play this way. Its a disgrace. Why is nothing being done one wonders.
Ban the kiwis for a year to get them ti ght would have a salutory effect! No more warnings please refs just action. Red card for the kiwis if they do red zone infringement. No more pussy footing around thsi problem. Ditto the off the ball incidents I mentioned which are chronic as well.
Ref decisions again cost us a test.
However looking past the scoreboard there is much to be very satisfied about.

Beeno: you were doing so well but the day after the game you are wailing the old refrain of "its the refs fault"
What happened to the b team excuse & the bench excuse?
You guys played well for 60 mins as usual, as usual you lost the game in the last quarter. This was a home game. Boks have to win convincingly against the argies or else confidence levels will be low(er). You have to fix the lineouts, fix the rolling maul, improve back line defense, bring back some injured players & integrate them, get a better back up to wee pollard... Other than that boks are in good shape. Blaming the ref won't fix these problems

It happens that all teams make professional fouls in the red zone.  In most cases it is individuals that transgress.  Where I agree with you though is that some teams make repeated professional fouls and there the most evident example is the AB's - they are more guilty than any other team to do so.
I think that the matter should be addressed - if it happens continuously then players should be carded. Whitelock was not the only culprit - the AB backline did it repeatedly - so one of the backline players should also have been carded as well.
Is it an AB strategy to commit professional fouls under such circumstances?  I am not sure - if it is it is a very dangerous practice.   Referees are checked carefully and if it becomes evident that it is indeed a trait - the AB's will get more seriously detrimental  treatment in future cases.

Mike it happens too often not to be coached. Also think about how many times they take out defenders in off the ball incidents. Its chronic with them even when kiwi sides paly kiwi sides in the Super 15.
What is amazing is that refs tolerate all this stuff. They need now to be everely dealt with. Would we have lost the test if the abs hadnt commited the red zone infringments? Probably not.
The abs are extremely cynical in their approach. A cynical ref approach to them is needed. Ping them very hard for professional fouls

 @sharkbok,

WTF are you talking about?
firstly, Whitelock's wasn't even a penalty,.... let alone a yellow,..... he went perfectly legal through the ruck's gate.
And in the previous 58 minutes the boks barely were in the red zone. In the first half they were there 4 times, including Le Roux's try, for a total of 2' 15''. No offside infringment (or other).
In the second half and before the yellow, the boks entered twice the red zone. In the first one a penalty was called for collapsing the maul which end up in Lood's almost try (but very clearly not a try, he went short and it was very clearly showed in the aerial take).
In the second one a penalty is called for offside to Messam but it wasn't intentional, it came after a dummy from pienaar.
So we have that in the previous 58 min. one and only one offside infringment was made by the AB, Whitelock's wasn't even a penalt y and you are calling for more yellows? c'mon........ don't become another hooligan like Mr. Been

Appart from that Habanana was in the ruck when grabbed by C. Taylor so nothing there

what's your problem? aren't you able to retain what you read or what?
whitelock's wasn't even a penalty, he went through the gate. And he went through the gate when Pienaar had taken the ball.
A very similar play took place around the 15th minute when Etzebeth tackled A. Smith. Etzebeth didn't go through the gate but went once A . Smith took the ball so no penalty was called, and rightly. But Whitelock's was even more clear that wasn't a penalty because he went through the gate.

The reason the Boks don't get pinged for professional fouls so much in their own Red Zone is because their defence is so bad that teams like the ABs and Oz are able to march through unopposed! They don't get a chance to infringe...

Iyts chronic by the kiwis. Lots needs to change and only conceerted efforts by refs will sort it.Meanwhile the NH knows they were crooked out in the RWC fianl last time round and will be gunning for the recipiets of craig jouberts favours. Will  we see the wee abs getting their just desserts? What do other countries think when seeing the abs crooking in the red zone? The Habana incident. The way Oz gets a try but we dont. The down unders oaks are getting a very bad reputation.

Everyone can see it.
Games that the All Blacks should lose, they somehow win. They do this with professional fouls- but it is going to catch up with them soon.
If the opposition is in the red zone- just give way 10 penalties on the same movement.
The max points is still only going to be 3- not 7.

Having one person offside is different to when the whole team goes offside intentionally to stop the opposition from scoring tries. Lazy runs, lying on the wrong side pretending to get out of the way to slow down the opposition ball.

All Black Game Plan
Plan A- Try Win the Game
Plan B- We are going to lose- so lets cheat. Constant offside in the red zone, pretend to get out of the way while intentionally getting in the way.
The All Blacks were the weaker team- but they still won because they killed most of the best Bok attacking movements by intentionally going offside to close the space down.

Well said Sharkbok. Its planned and its coached. Its all too obvious.

I just cant wait to see our A side wallop these palookas real good. The RWC semis would be a great place!!
I think the NH know the abs crooked the last world cup and will be on guard. It could be payback time. I know the French were livid and to think our own Craig Joubert was involved. Oh the shame of that!!! A dark stain on our great history! Everything in the tournment was worked out to benefit nz. However dispite France being obviuosly a weaker opponent they outplayed the poor nz side and were obviosly the better side. All took note of how the win was contrived.
You cant fool all of the people all of the time Kiwis. Harken unto what is being said here and clean up your act.

With respect Whitelock was not on his feet coming through the ruck - he was not even on his knees.  His first offence was not releasing the player he tackled - his second was interfering with the ball while lying in the ruck and his third offense was hitting at the ball when he was not on his feet.    Three penalizable offenses in one play were two to many - hence his yellow card.   That was not the only offenses in that series of plays.  The AB players were off-side at least two more times.  It is easy to prevent scoring of tries from an off-side position.   The second off-side offence should have caused another yellow card.
As stated earlier making unprofessional fouls is not the preserve of only the AB's - it happens in all other teams.  If the players do it repeatedly I think that they should be penalized and carded.  One such incident penalized - the second a card.

 @mike,

and what else? why not 4 or 5  infringments?
firstly he was perfectly on his feet. In the 15th minute Etzebeth did exactly the same move and, correctly, he wasn't penalised.
And before that, the time btwin Whitelock takes Burger to the ground and the ball is released is less than a second so very hardly the other 2 infringments you mentioned.

The AB players were penalised for offside jut once, there was no second offense.
But r egarding to the stupid idea of "One such incident penalized - the second a card." if they were to apply it half the players in each match would be sin-binned.

As I said, assume the defeat,...... for once

Beeno1: "Note also the ab holding onto Habana to stop him defending. Habana kept hitting at his arm to get loose."

Held? If he just turned and walked away, he would have slipped out of the hand of the player with absolutely no effort at all. Habana just wanted to put on a show in an attempt to milk a penalty, as he feels that acting is more important than playing. If the players just focus on rugby, they would do so much better... Diva le Roux and Diva Habana are the worst of the lot, followed closely by Diva Jannie...

Habana and co. ACT like they were shot in the head if someone runs within three metres from them.

That's just my point,We can do whatever we want but we cant change the result, we cant change any results. What we can do is be better, learn from it and be better. Habana was held, but through his toys out the cot and infringed seconds later. Someone of his experience I would have expected better. Play to the whistle!!!. Forget the theatrics.I believe Sam was yellow carded correctly but we were unable to capitalize on the advantage we had due to the uncontested scrums. Now, after all the short straws we have undoubtedly drawn with unforseen injuries at critical moments both against Oz and NZ, to come as close as we did with what we had I think is outstanding. If someone in the Springbok camp cannot harvest that as enough motivation to succeed moving forward then they themselves need a shrink. If, and its a big if, the Boks make it through the QF and face the AB's in the SM. My money is on the BOKS.

Look, the AB's did break the law in the red zone in Saturday's game, and that is exactly what any smart team would do. Why give away 7, when you can give away 3? If the Ref misses it, that is for the administrators to sort out. I don't for a moment hold it against the All Blacks. Holding onto Habana to reduce the Bok defence by one player, one or two guys going offsides to cut off an attacking move, slowing the ball illegally. These are all tactics used by all teams! Do the AB's get away with more? Maybe, but why not do it if you can get away with it?

After watching the game again and looking what happened in that incident,  I have to disagree about the Whitelock incident.  He was lying on top of a player and did not get onto his feet - he basically crawled forward from that lying position and then went for the ball.  If he got to his feet from that position - it never happened and is definitely not allowed.  However, it was a long list of offences.  starting by Whitelock bringing a maul down - first penalty in the red zone - followed a few minutes later by a string of penalties.  Then the incident leading to the yellow card for Whitelock.
Sorry, but he was guilty - and that is a fact.
