First Half
00:35 - R6 carries it up. Frans pulls inside with Alberts to stop ball-carrier.Pulls out quickly once Alberts establishes forward drive repelling attacker, thereby taking up defensive position quickly and marshaling defensive line.
04:53 - Sharks LO; Back. Reds rush up quickly in defence and surround Frans before he even gets the ball, but smartly gets the ball out to Coetzee sending him in whole outside primary rushers and giving Sharks forward momentum.
05:22 - Sharks take the ball to the sideline to create width, but produce slow ball. Steyn sends high ball in behind rushing defenders R11 fields, but Sharks defenders are already upon the Reds and affect a charge down.
06:28 - Sharks Penalty; Steyn shot at goal successful.
08:40 - R12 carries up and pulls through Frans, Coetzee puts him down and nearly wins turnover.
10:04 - R12 carries up. Frans ready to make contact, but attacker pulls away to his outside taking cluster of defenders. No tackle attempted.
11:00 - Frans covering the left shoulder of R11 who offloads in the tackle. Frans immediately wraps up R12 and releases quickly to take up defensive position once attacker starts going to ground.
11:10 - Frans shadows team mates as turnover is won. Quickly takes up scrummy position sending a nice flat pass out to Coetzee.
14:01 - Ball sent out to the right to 10, who passes to Frans out wide. Steyn, with defenders in his face, darts inside and ghosts around three forwards. Tackled thereafter by R1 but offloads back to where he ran from to S9. Quickly takes up defensive position.
14:33 - Steyn sends a nice flat pass to S15 which gets sets him free on the outside of R14 and down the touchline.
17:06 - Sharks Try. Steyn conversion successful.
18:18 - Reds attack ruck fringe quickly and Steyn darts inside with low tackle to take down R13 back into Sharks defenders and they win penalty for holding on by Reds.
19:56 - Steyn chases a chip by S10 into Reds 22 and brings down R9 with ball. Sharks win penalty for earlier infringement.
22:12 - S10 miss pass (missing S12) to S11. S11 held up in tackle and driven backwards, gets offload out to Steyn who chips in behind defence and sets up lineout in Reds 22.
28:10 - Sharks penalty. Steyn kick at goal successful.
28:58 - Reds pass quickly with long pass to get around the edge of Sharks defensive line, JP shuts off the edge so R8 cuts inside to attack inside shoulder of Steyn, who holds him up and drives him down. R7 assists in holding up R8 for a brief moment to allow Reds to get to breakdown quickly enough to retain possession, this from an offside position! Not picked up from the Ref. Prevented Steyn from grounding R8 early.
29:03 - Steyn attempts to disrupt R9 pass from ruck base.
32:43 - Steyn joins ruck and helps clean up ball after won turnover.
33:41 - R12 runs at outside shoulder of Steyn, who holds him up and brings him down and disrupts R12 offload attempt.
34:43 - Steyn part of kick chase and joins ruck to pressure Reds.
34:55 - Quickly out of ruck to cover blindside as he shadows the two primary defenders. R11 is caught as he skins the defenders but is brought to ground by Steyn. Frans penalized for not rolling away. Replay (49:01 on video time) shows Steyn tried to get away but was trapped by Reds support to breakdown.
38:50 - Sharks penalty. Steyn kick at goal successful.
39:34 - R13 engages Steyn and holds him then passes inside to R15 running theopposite direction. Steyn was guarding against both and protecting his channel well.
Second Half
41:55 - Steyn pass to S14. Guards subsequent ruck. Retreats quickly in defence as S9's pass is disrupted by Reds.
42:18 - Steyn loses his footing attempting the drop kick. Reds get ball.
42:33 - Reds breakout down touchline. Steyn wraps up R6 holding him up and attacking the ball with Bicmarck. Sharks win penalty.
43:40 - S9 loses the ball. Steyn initially tries to get loose ball, but then takes up defensive position immediately on the outside.
45:15 - Steyn rushes quickly on the outside edge of the defense and subsequently shadows defenderson his outside protecting against the break.
53:44 - Scrum reds. R15 steps inside Steyn as he drifts across out wide and drags the inside supporting defender
57:50 - Reds breakout down the touchline, Steyn however has R11 well covered and brings him down as he shadowed the defenders on his outside.
