Crucial mistakes to put the seal on defeat. Get him gone.
Lambie likewise, his brilliant open field tackle aside was his usual dithering self....his failure to support Hendricks after he took the high ball led directly to Smith's try. A decent sub for Willie.
Pollard and Pienaar were very good today, Pienaar having one of his best Bok outings.
Our centres are Hyde on attack and Jeckyl on defence....we desperately need to give these lads some help. Kriel's inability to read the cut for example. All that time the Bools wasted with JJ at 13 all S15.
Habana was very busy, Hendricks seems to be more physical in the tackle.
In the scrum Jannie has turned up trumps along with the whole front row. The locks were all good with Lomp putting in a huge effort.....he was perhaps the best forward on the park. All the starting loosies played well....but we lost so much when Louw went off for Whiteley who is no test player. I'm not sure Brussouw really proved his case but he was good. And Schalk was imperious barring one lineout he couldn't quite reach.
The forward subs added nothing to the effort and frankly Koch, and especially Whiteley and Strauss were very disappointing.
In aggregate the team lost intensity in the last 20 minutes and through the yellow which cost us the test. I personally think the uncontested scrum decision had a lot to do with that....with Nyakane available and our scrum against 7 men on their try line, to not contest is perhaps the most cowardly decision I have ever seen in sports. Shame on HM for allowing that travesty.
