I know a lot of South Africans are disappointed that the Springboks won't be in the RWC final but I think we have to concede that the All Blacks and the Wallabies were by some distance the best two sides in the tournament and they deserve to be there.

Before the tournament kicked off I questioned whether anybody would be able to stop the All Blacks from winning their 3rd RWC title, but then the All Blacks put in two stuttering performances in the pool stages against Namibia and Tonga while the Wallabies were very impressive throughout the pool stages to the extent that they effectively became the tournament favourites. But then came the near disaster against Scotland in the quarterfinals and suddenly the Wallabies looked very beatable again.

Both teams came under some pressure in their semifinal games but then showed great character to book their place in the final. RWC finals are generally hard fought low-scoring games but with these two great backlines opposing one another - together with great linking loose forwards on both sides - I'll be surprised if we don't see a few tries.

I think the two potential game changing players are David Poc'ock and Julian Savea. A moment of magic from either of these two great players can turn the game.

Hope it's a close game with no controversy. I'm saying New Zealand by 5.

As for the Bronze final, I couldn't really care what happens and it's hard to say which team will be more motivated to perform. I'm going with the Springboks but without a lot of conviction. Springboks by 11.

What utter twaddle from that peddlar of myths rooitwit the witless.rooitwit neither the wee abs nor oz deserve to be in the final. Both are there via ref "errors" FACT. It is another RWC burgalry we are witnessing. Who can deny Scotland were robbed of a victory over the hapless wobblies or that the reversal of the penalty re wee victor was wrong.Nope the best solution would be to kick these two burgalars out of the comp and let the Argies and Boks contest the final. Then pass a law that no oz/ nz ref may ever again official and add Craig Joubert to that as he has erred once to may times.
Beeno the action man would quickly sort out this nonsense!

"By some distance the two best sides in the tournament"
What a laugh you really are
Had Habana not been too premature on charging at Carter, Carter could have still missed his 1st attempt and not have had another 2nd attempt at goal.
Had the Matfield penalty not have been overturned, we could still have won
Both those instances in one game could have put us in the final, but just because two passages of play in one game went against us, New Zealand and Australia are by "some distance" the two best sides in the tournament
What a laugh you really are

Baboon-ou, please can you not pollute this particular thread with your pathetic and embarrassing snivelling about the refs.

What's done is done. The teams in the 2015 RWC final are the All Blacks and the Wallabies. They deserve to be there because they are the only unbeaten teams in the tournament. Deal with it . . . and if you can't, then go find some other thread to bleat and whimper like a little baby.

This thread is about the actual final that is going to be played, not the final that you have playing inside your silly head.

Okay?

I am not disputing the teams in the final, but do me a favour, don't try and justify them as the two best sides in the tournament by "some distance"
That's bullsh!t, the boks dispelled this theory with their last game, if anything they were on par with the AB's, if not better in some areas.
If the All Blacks beat us by some distance then by all means, make this statement, but they didn't, that game was ours to lose, not their's to win.
Best by some distance my a..s. .s

Wardad, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the incredibly pedantic, dull-witted and childish Drivelling Avocado. I suspect he has conveniently forgotten that South Africa - one of the teams he's trying to compare with the unbeaten All Blacks - not only lost to New Zealand but also lost to . . . ummm . . . Japan!

I stand by what I said . . . New Zealand and Australia were by FAR the best two teams in this tournament. They're followed by daylight and then by Argentina.

  @DA,

In the sentence you quoted

"By some distance the two best sides in the tournament"

it's very clear what rooi wanted to say, he consider the 2 best sides of the TOURNAMENT but you take it as it was in just one game and try to refute it speaking of just one game.

And yes, the AB and the Wallies have been the 2 best sides of the tournament by some distance with the rest and especially with the boks who were the poorest, in terms of game, of the 8 teams classified for the QF.
The game developed by the boks was the most pathetic seen in a field for a very long time at this level and they didn't deserve even to pass to the semis. They did it only thanks to the fact that the Welsh were depleted by injuries.

As for the match against the AB in semis, the boks continued showing their pathetic game and they found themselves in the game thanx only to the ref.
The boks were kept in the game thanx to the high count of penalties against the AB which stopped constantly the game, didn't let the AB develop their game and on top of all the most of them weren't penalties. The stats in the first half are quite clear in this sense:
-Territory: 72%
-Possession: 65%

This is what happens when the NH refs are in charge of a match, they don't have a f*cking clue, except Owens. And this is another reason why the NH teams did so badly, they are used to this kind of refs who are always stopping the match, don't letting the game flow and where as consequence the set pieces are the most deciding aspect of the game.
The ice on the cake came with Kaino's yellow, a f*cking joke. The ball went to him and he didn't kick it, he was just walking and in the movement hit the ball.
So the AB entered the second half 5 points behind and one man down thanx to the ref. And they did what's the only chance in those cases in a semi, go for the match. In the first 10 min. they turn the scoreboard and since then controlled the game and the springboks who were never a real threat.

ABs and Oz definitely WAY ahead of any other teams and correct final awaits. Don't know why Hasbeeno and DA somehow think the Boks got close! They were completely dominated in the forwards by the ABs and only the occasional intervention from the ref kept them in the game. Hell, just look at the possession, territory, metres gained, line out steals and missed tackles stats for the match. Boks were absolutely caned in all of them!!Get a grip boys. You were owned by the ABs! I'll never forget the pathetic attempts to get away from your try line in the last few minutes. Feeble. And did the Boks ever get within 10m of the AB try line at all in 80 mins?? I doubt it...

Should be an epic match, with lots of intriguing match ups. Intelligent rugby players on both squads.
Would be nice to have a high scoring final for once, but both teams have good defenses and the ability to turnover phase ball so it may well end up being a slugfest with just a couple moments of brilliance on either side.

Let me get your logic right here
So, the Aussies, who didn't deserve to be in the semi final, never mind this final, because they actually lost to Scotland, who the Springboks thumped, and the All Blacks who only just beat the Springboks, thanks to a drop kick from Carter were FAR better sides than the Springboks.
Yeah ok.........

I looked it several times,.... and yes, he looked down but since he looked down untill he hit the ball only 3 frames pass which means that 3/25 seconds pass.
This is 0.12 seconds. Impossible to react.
It was clearly unintentional since the ball goes to him and he have no time to react. Showing a yellow in a WC semi for this unintentional insignificance is a f*cking joke. A penalty would have been more than enough.

I'm sure that there were multiple infringements before that, and the ref had already warned the captains, so if that resulted in a yellow, so be it.
If I recall, you could have seen by his right leg movement that he deliberately struck the ball after looking down
Anyway, you have your take on it, I have mine.... fair enough
I don't have the footage right now, but that is what I remember

what kaino did when he saw the ball wasn't to kick the ball. He stopped his leg movement but in 0.12 seconds it's impossible to make anything else so he hit the ball (or the ball hit him better said) and then continues moving forward. Clearly non-intentional.

You have the footage at normal speed and slow motion in the "Video Ana!isys" thread.

The difference between the Boks and NZ/Oz is in the coaching.......these two sides play total rugby, we don't. Ours is narrow conservative crap advocated by a conservative coach.

The final is too close to call, its going to come down to who gets the rub of the green on the day......I cant call it but if pushed would have to go with NZ

It's hilarious to have the so called professed experts, like Dumb Ass, tell us that the Bok squad is in fact top of the line ... easily able to compete with the Wallabies and the All Blacks.

And then ... they suffer a humiliating LOSS to Japan.

JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa!!!

Yeah right, Dumb Ass ... they're a quality side alright!!

Oh and by the way, I recall a 2 pt loss ... not 3!!

The Bokke may have lost by only 2 pts but in reality they were thumped across the park. They spent the entire match camped in their own half, defending their line ... in the end letting 2 trys in ... to none.

The score is not a fair reflection of the match. We all saw that. Clearly your head was firmly lodged at the time.

I very much doubt the Wallabies or the All Blacks would EVER lose to the Japanese.

We need this pathetic coach and the rest of yesterdays rubbish thrown away.

Sooner the better.

But it seems this turd wants to remain a floater. An unwanted floater.

Hello CC
Really, so in effect you are saying that the Aussies should not have gone through at the last world cup in that quarter final against SA since they were camped in their own half for most of the game.  Even though they won that game, your logic of "The Boks were always in their own half..... is flawed"
It can't be logic to just help your one argument.  The Aussies proved that being in your own half for most of the game does not automatically make it a definite that you lose.....I can draw you a picture if you want.
"Oh and by the way, I recall a 2 pt loss ... not 3!!"
Eish CC, see my post below, an extra 2 points would have been a draw which would have forced extra time.

That is the reason why I posted this:

Calling them Goats from the beginning of this competition, and supporting every opposition side that the Springboks played against, at this world cup, clearly illustrates to me that no matter what this Springbok side did at this world cup, including even winning this world cup, you would have found some arbitrary reason as to why they didn't deserve it.
Yet, here's the thing..... I can just imagine the completely stupefied look on your face if one of these Bok greats had to actually just stop for a second and maybe give you or your kid a minute of his time and say hello

Why do you think I have some kind of drinking problem, Drivelling Avocado? Because your hero Moffie says so?

Oh dear, another one of the Servile Gimps who laps up his master' s lies without question.

LMAO!

Want to know the truth why Moffie is always referring to this alleged drinking problem of mine . . . why he's always banging on about the AA? Okay, it's because some years ago I asked him why he felt the need to always tell everyone what he was currently drinking in every single post. Every single Moffie post in years gone by used to include some reference to whatever ostentatious and overpriced single malt that the old sponge was drinking at the time.

When I asked him why he did this he got all infantile and defensive about it (as is his wont) and he jumped to the mistaken conclusion that the reason I questioned his need to tell everyone what he was drinking was because I had drinking issues of my own. That's how the lie started, the same baseless lie which you and the other Servile Gimps perpetuate . . . just as you perpetuate the belief that Dave is fat and ou Maaik is a pervert. Disgusting, sickening lies from the dishonest and deceitful old blowhard whose fat arse you spend all day kissing.

Oh well, if nothing else, Moffie no longer includes a reference to the drink he's currently holding in his hand whenever he posts . . . thanks to me! The foppish old relic would never admit it but I've actually modified a lot of his message board behaviours . . . rather alarming when you consider he's still has such a deeply unpleasant message board persona but, hey, at least there's been some progress.

Anyway, Drivelling Avocado, just something for you to ponder the next time you base anything you say on Moffie's deceit.

PS Hope the above doesn't send you into another paroxysm of unbridled rage!
