Although there were serious team performance deficiencies this week - there are some players who did show that they were above the rest and here is my team of the week comprising of SA players:-

15.  Andries Coetzee

14   Lionel Mapoe

13   Harold Vorster

12   Jan Serfontein

11   Ruan Combrinck

10   Handre Pollard

 9   Faf de Klerk

 8   Warren Whiteley

 7   Arno Botha

 6   Jaco Kriel

 5   Franco Mostert

 4   Carl Wegner

 3   Marcel van der Merwe

 2   Bismarck du Plessis

 1   Schalk van der Merwe

Players like Blommetjies, Sithole,  Francois Steyn and Bothma came very near - but just did not make it in my book.

In some positions the performances of the players were not up to standard and in this category I include the scrummies, loosies playing at 7 and locks.  Alberts was atrociously poor and Arno Botha was the best of the rest.   Iro of the locks Matfield - playing against two questionable locks - looked good in line-outs, but vanished from sight in the second half and was as per normal not contributing anything to Tight 5 play.  I was not impressed by Faf de Klerk this week - but the other scrummies were even worse than he was.

IMO the team should be:

1. S. van der Merve
6. Jaco Kriel.
12. Serfontein

It took some time to Kriel to show in SR what he was able to do in the Currie cup but finally he has exploted. His last 3-4 games have been really outstanding.
Meyer should rethink his inclusion in the national team.

The rest of the performances, in general, something to forget as soon as possible

I identified the weak links in the team and I had problems m in even identifying the poor performers iro of one of the full back, the wings, the scrummie, the no 7, and the locks.  In those cases I picked the less weak players when I made the above choices.
I think that aside from the three players mentioned by you Pollard and Vorster had good games, while most of the rest was average to poor.

Pollard played well - maybe in part due to a strong platform provided by the Bulls forwards
