This was a horror-weekend for SA teams and there was not much to choose from:-

15   Willie le Roux

14   Kobus van Wyk

13   Huw Jones

12   Damian de Allende

11   Odwqa Ndungane

10    Elton Jantjies

  9   Cobus  Reinach

  8   Duane Vermeulen

  7   Schalk Burger

  6   Heinrich Brussow

  5   Franco Mostert

  4   Eben Etzebeth

  3   Vincent Koch

  2   Adriaan Strauss

  1   Steven Kitshoff

I hate to say it, but the players in the other positions were so bad - I cannot think of a single name to put into the blank positions.  Be my guests and suggest some names.

Odwa Ndungane. Apart for Cobus Reinach he was the only Sharks player who showed any guts.

Thanks - I have filled up the team - should have put in Burger in the first instance.

Ou Maaik, not sure if you put your post up before the Lions vs Bulls game but I reckon the Lions deserve at least half the places in your team.

13   Lionel Mapoe

12   Damian de Allende

11   Odwqa Ndungane

10    Elton Jantjies

  9   Cobus  Reinach

  8   Warren Whiteley

  7   Warwick Tecklenberg

  6   Heinrich Brussow

  5   Franco Mostert

  4   Eben Etzebeth

  3   Vincent Koch

  2   Robbie Coetzee

Let me be explicit - when I pick players I look at both the opposition the various players face in their various games.   Take for instance the case of Mapoe - his direct opponent was JJ Engelbrecht - a flop at 13 if ever there was one.   Jones played opposite Conrad Smith with on his outside Julian Savea and Corey Jane and inside Nonu as opponents.
The same applies to the other players that you mention from the Lions.   You cannot compare the performance of Whiteley - who was rather disappointing on Saturday - with the one of Vermeulen against the Hurricanes - same applies to Tecklenberg compared to Burger.
I like Moster as a player and may have been rather harsh  on him and is prepared to change Ruan Botha for Mostert - I in fact did make the change.  I know you intensely dislike the Stormers - but fair is fair.
By the way - what baffled me is why the Lions constantly start with Cronje and Coetzee ahead of Faf de Klerk and Armand van der Merwe.   I think the latter is the player that would take over from Bismarck in the Springbok team - the sooner that happens, the better it would be for the Springboks.

Well a poor week for me also, so far I have 348 points. Looks like I have a chance of beating my SC cup final competitor though
I cannot see any of the other live scores so I hope one of you posts them on this thread.

Saffex: I agree on Kriel over Le Roux. Le Roux did squat.

 Dave
You are not being realistic at all making some calls:-
*   Le Roux in a losing team against one of the top teams were much more effective than Kriel was this weekend;
*   What did Esterhuizen achieve to rate him higher than De Allende?   I could not see much in ball carries - no defenders beaten - and question marks about defense.  Esterhuizen was one of the players that did not let the team down as badly as others did - but he did not do anything to be rated as top inside center this week.
*    Liebenberg tried hard - but on the day Burger was much better than he was.
*    Whiteley did not have a good game this weekend - was much less effective than he was in previous weeks and Vermeulen had an exceptional game compared to what he achieved in previous weeks.
I am keenly interested in the progress made by the youngsters - but they have some way to go.   One of the problems the Bulls had this weekend was their inability to really protect and recover breakdown balls - both opposition balls and their own.  Both Stegmann and Spies are useless in that regard - they are in fact useless in all aspects of play.   I would much rather see a Bulls loosie combination of Arno Botha (8), Liebenberg (7) and Labuschagne (6) then the present combination.  I believe Liebenberg can learn a lot from Labuschagne and hope that he gets the opportunity to partner Labuschagne this season.
