At least I would not be selecting Volmink on the wing, Howard at 13, Boshoff at 10, Kockott at 9, Marcel v/d Merwe at prop, Minnie at 6 and Jacques Engelbrecht at 8

Case closed..............the most rugby ignorant Bok side ever

Ssshhh Becs - thats supposed to be a secret remember? The doctors at Broadmoor gave specific instructions not to let the cat out of the bag in case Saffex figures out he's not actually the coach and starts mutilating his Mozart doll again

Plum for you:

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

Have loved them since I was little ( and one cannot beat  the late, lamented Mr Morrison, deep sigh...) My Music Teacher honestly thought I had written " The Crystal Ship " when he heard me playing it on the piano, one lunchtime  Wanted me to submit it as my original piece for my GCSE....ha ha ha !!
Mum  has asked for " The End " to be played at her funeral; I have promised I will honour that if I am still around ! ( Before anyone reacts with a horrified manner, she is being buried under a tree, so no Church service !! ) It's a jolly good one

The Doors - Moonlight Drive video

In The WASP, a maiden with wrought iron soul is mentioned: "Forget the night. Live with us in forests of azure. Out here on the perimeter there are no stars. Out here we is stoned - immaculate. Listen to this, and I'll tell you 'bout the heartache. I'll tell you 'bout the heartache and the loss of God. I'll tell you 'bout the hopeless night, the meager food for souls forgot. I'll tell you 'bout the maiden with wrought iron soul. I'll tell you this: No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn."

Perhaps Morrison (More Sun) a.k.a. The Lizard King, was revealing his own identity as a shape-shifting or Crawling King Snake when he sang, "I'm a Changeling. See me change. I'm a Changelin'. See me change... You gotta see me change. See me change. Yeah, I'm leavin' town on a midnight train. Gotta see me change."

In closing, a couple quotes from Jim on how controlled and brainwashed society is and how he viewed himself.

"A person has to be willing to give up everything -- not just wealth. All the bullshit that he's been taught -- all society's brainwashing. You have to let go of all that to get to the other side. Most people aren't willing to do that."

"Whoever controls the media, controls the mind."

"We're like actors, turned loose in this world to wander in search of a phantom, endlessly searching for a half-formed shadow of our lost reality. When others demand that we become the people they want us to be, they force us to destroy the person we really are. It's a subtle kind of murder. The most loving parents and relatives commit this murder with smiles on their faces."

"I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then whoosh, and I'm gone...and they'll never see anything like it ever again...and they won't be able to forget me -- ever."

But we can CHOOSE  life and not death

The Rich Man and Lazarus

19 “Now there was a certain rich man who was habitually dressed in expensive purple and fine linen, and celebrated and lived joyously in splendor every day. 20 And a poor man named Lazarus, was laid at his gate, covered with sores. 21 He [eagerly] longed to eat the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores. 22 Now it happened that the poor man died and his spirit was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s [e]bosom (paradise); and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom (paradise). 24 And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in severe agony in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things [all the comforts and delights], and Lazarus likewise bad things [all the discomforts and distresses]; but now he is comforted here [in paradise], while you are in severe agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you [people] a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to come over from here to you will not be able, and none may cross over from there to us.’ 27 So the rich man said, ‘Then, father [Abraham], I beg you to send Lazarus to my father’s house— 28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may solemnly warn them and witness to them, so that they too will not come to this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have [the Scriptures given by] Moses and the [writings of the] Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30 He replied, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent [they will change their old way of thinking and seek God and His righteousness].’ 31 And he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to [the messages of] Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

I know the Doors and Beatles are two totally different bands and the comparison is cheesy. And maybe one has to have used LSD at least ten times to fully appreciate the Doors, but man they are in two totally different leagues for me. If someone has never heard The Doors before and you play it to them today, you'd easily convince them that this is a new band. Personally, i don't even understand how that is possible. Maybe the acid
"...It's a subtle kind of murder. The most loving parents and relatives commit this murder with smiles on their faces."
Very good and very very true.
As for the biblical guilt. Have ZERO respect/patience/energy/motivation to act based on being made to feel guilty. How about this...We all have a life here on earth and we make the best of it, regardless. Then if, big if, we have a life after this earth...we make the best of that too. You don;t need a bible...just follow this one simple rule...DONT BE A D1CK!
Burning someone's eternal soul because they failed to show mercy on a beggar is the equivalent of grounding your child for life because he failed a maths test when he was eight years old. Actually it's way worse...since the child's life is finite and the punishment is for him to stay in his room. The "supposed" soul is eternal...and to burn said soul for an eternity is pretty harsh.
So we have a big sadist in the sky who loves the smell of souls on the barbie...haha. What else is one supposed to glean from this?
I find it extremely funny that you quoted a guy talking about how we should not under any circumstances accept having other people, even our parents, turning us into who they want us to be...yet you seem to advocate being told who to be by a book which as far as we can tell is, at best, a skewed record of some random part oh human history when human rights was not even a flicker philosopher's eyes yet.
Its this kind of BS that makes it possible for churches to extort people. Give us 10% and you're guaranteed to go to heaven. It's this kind of crud that makes it so that the Catholic(church of SATAN) were able to torture humanity for hundreds of years and up to this day are able to convince latin America that contraception is evil...ever so coincidentally constantly increasing their international congregation, ergo their influence, whilst also creating the perfect situation to visit those countries now and then and be the big saviours of all the poor families with ten kids.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck guilt. And double fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck the church.
We have brains and we have morals. We don't need crutches and we sure as hell don't need a bunch of guilt merchants breathing down our necks at the smallest sign of human imperfection. No child is born a sinner, and to forgive is not divine...IT'S HUMAN!!!!!!!!! Love, empathy, compassion and all the rest of those qualities are also HUMAN. It's taken us a long time and much blood and many tears have run as we slowly taught ourselves these qualities. Only for the church to come in and claim them. It's sad. And it ticks me off to no end that a) any organisation has such little respect for humanity and is so deceitful so as to do such a thing and b) some humans are dumb enough to hand it over that easily.

Some good and valid points, Plum.

Some time ago I put up the results of a scientific study that was done which basically proved that the less intelligent a person is, the more religious they are likely to be.

You won't be surprised then to know that drooling half-wits like Baboon-ou and SubstantialBull are bible-bashing christian fundamentalists!

I agree...that's not what it's about...distortion of truth is rampant in the false church today...I suggest an honest approach and don't throw the baby out with the bath water...we are all imperfect and no...to forgive truly and unconditionally is divine...to love your enemies is not natural. A set of rules and obedience won't get you a pass mark but a change of heart and complete honesty.

You can be sure that the false church and their manipulation of partial truths for selfish gain will reap what is sown.

Yeah Rooi. I start to feel as though i need to start basing my company's business strategy around making people feel guilty. Strangely, the tougher times get the more effective my sales pitch will be...plus it seems i'll never have to diversify either. All we need is not love...All we need is guilt. Deep judeo-christian guilt and bad vibes for everyone. Come get some

Seb, i stand as i have always done, in direct opposition to religion. Yet i am able to forgive and to empathise with my enemies and over time even forgive them too. Not that i really have enemies. And i can tell you that 100% my ability for forgiveness eminates directly from my intellect IE my brain. Nowhere else.
But wait...the next thing you will say is that even though i don't know it, blah blah blah the Lord moves in me. Yeah ok. I can't argue with grey areas nor with baseless claims. How do i convince you that Yeti's aren't real? I can't, nor do i care to.

True love is unconditional...so is forgiveness...having said this I enjoy your rugby posts...both you and Rooineks...I find them constructive and intelligent but differ in my beliefs pertaining to one's soul...we all have a choice and are accountable with our conscience...God never forces choice...His biggest gift is Himself and a freewill to choose...you cannot blame Him or any man for that matter and it certainly does not help to become self righteous and do your own judgements...one thing is for sure we will all die and be accountable. Anyway, I have good intentions to both of you and really hope you find peace within yourselves and do not become bitter and resentful...I only know that once I was angry and hated God and now since I surrendered everything I did not understand and all my unanswered questions to Him in complete honesty, I made my peace with Him and all those that I hurt and hurted me back. I do not fear death or anything that man can do... I've escaped execution by hi-jackers and I survived a life threatening deadly infection necrotising faciitis...and am happy and un-scared today...I regard this as a miracle...Divine love.
