So 1/3 through S15....what is the Bok team looking like?

 My turning point in the WC match against the AB's was when Matfield conceded the stupid penalty....the scale tipped at that point.

That doesn't make sense to me Draad. The neck roll was a new focus for the WC, and in Matfield's experience the way he executed the move was probably  okay.  Several pundits agreed.
Obviously it was an unfortunate set back, but the turning point? 
Firstly Lambie kicked a penalty at minute 68 which effectively put us in the same position as we would have been 4 minutes earlier, if Matfield was not penalized and the kick was made.
We had 12 minutes to score 3 points to win, or 16 minutes to score 6 points to win...hardly an impossible task.

By the way Draad, many pundits disagreed or were uncertain about the Matfield penalty including Borschardt and Kaplan, but this from Ben Strang on Rugby Heaven states it best:

The Television Match Official made two crucial interjections, reversing penalty decisions because players were caught holding around the neck area.

One call went in each direction. Joe Moody was rightly done in the first half for grabbing a player around the neck, overturning what would have been a shot at goal for Dan Carter.

Victor Matfield was ruled to have done the same in the second half when, overturning what would have been a sure goal for Patrick Lambie.

It was consistent from the TMO, although the second one in particular seemed harsh. I don't see how the second one was a penalty, but if consistency is what you're after, those calls had it.

I have never read such a futile attempt to justify Matfield iro the stupid penalty turnaround.   Matfield was absolutely sh!t-poor as a lock from the first test return in  2014 and that was proven time and again.  In the WC he was atrocious in the Japan test and the apex was when he came from the bench in the semi-final.  The first line-out he was outjumped and the ball on own throw-in lost,   That was followed by the turn-around of the penalty because of an unnecessary neck grab by the idiot.  
Your attempted justification that the penalty should not have been turned around was a joke in bad taste, It was and as Draad rightly point out fropm tyhat mopment onward the spirit of the players took a dip,   Matfield caused them to be 14 dispirited players with him producing zero as well.  
Your comments are as stupid as your latest attack on De Allende being responsible for Barrett scoring that try .          

 Matfield may have been a yard or three off the pace and was at times ineffective in the tight loose ... often finding himself tackled back by smaller men ... however ... having said that ... he did have some good moments in every match he played and was by a long shot not as disastrous as your trying to make out, Mike.
I personally did not think he belonged there ... however I thought that of many other players too ... like Pienaar, Coenie, Jannie, Morne and even Lomp.
Pinning our demise on Matfield isn't exactly fair ... it is after all a team sport ... and that includes the coach ... but I can see you have the dreaded lockjaw on the Matfield issue and probably won't let it go because of Mozart. 
It's all in the past as far as I'm concerned ... over and done with ... just like the loss to Japan. 
Do you guys think we can move on from here ... or are we to expect this ongoing pointless argument for the rest of the year??
Besides ... the All Blacks were keeping us in the game with their shoddy discipline, giving us penalties to stay in touch ... but from my perspective they out played us in every department ... as a team ... we didn't deserve to go through. 

We have a bunch of inexperienced youngsters to select from now ...  no doubt with a quota coach at the helm ... what will become of the Boks ... or Goats depending which side of the fence your sitting on ... 
I'm a little trepid to be honest ... but have hope that things could be done properly for a change.
Let's face it, debating the future is far more interesting than going over the Matfield's over and over and friggin over again ... and again ... and agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn~!!!

The future is what we should discuss - the past is not on.  Fact is we did not do well in 2014 and 2015 and Mozart's attack on the potential future team as taking us down is just not reasonable.   Taking us down is not possible after a disastrous 2014 and 2015 so lets rather be positive and look what would be feasible.
 
   

 Moz, I don't blame Mayfield for that penalty reversal, it was a normal incident during a match and could have happened to any player. I just think that got the feeling that we lost a bit of momentum at that stage. To beat NZ, you need to be very good AND have a bit of luck too. I think that incident gave a bit of luck to NZ.

 There was roundabout minute 48 in the Reds-Highlanders game a similar incident than the one referred to after the Highlanders scored a try.  The try was disallowed and a penalty awarded.  During dis cussion of the incident - the commentators referred to the similarity between that incident and the incident involving Matfield in the WC semi.  
The lesson is that you lose matches because of silliness like what happened in the relevant cases.

Now that would have been pure gold. Moz would bring the fancy suite and Mike would come with the unshakeable and stern facial expressions. "Ekke gat vir jou bliksem soutie." haha

 

If I was Oscar's lawyer and ou Mike was the prosecutor Oscar would be in Monte Carlo right now,  sipping his Berlini out of Lalique  crystal with  a girl on each arm and a waiter serving him Petrossian caviar in a nice iced silver dish.

 
No he would be serving a life sentence without any possibility of parole if you were his lawyer.   Something like getting it all wrong aka Zuma's legal advice on Nkandla.  

Haha yeah. Like I said, I'd pay money to see the above play out.
