What genius plan are you going to come up with to beat NZ?

Let me guess - you are going to hope wee Vic is able to play so you can have him back.

With Coetzee out it will be the perfect opportunity to bring back Alberts who last did something of note some 2 years ago.

What about bringing back crocked Jean to disrupt the lethal combo of de Allende and Kriel.

But the icing on the cake has to be the recall of plodder Morne at 10.

Bring it on Mr Meyer you clown

De Allende and Kriel has shown nothing lethal as a combo yet. Kriel played really well on Saturday as an individual. De Allende was nowhere. The game against the World XV is not test rugby and not a benchmark.

Saffex,

Hmmm... Still exactly the same I see... Blame Morne... As I remember you were one of those who said that all the Boks needed was to get rid of Morne and they will win everything and beat anyone!

Just a small piece of info...

The Boks with Morne under HM - Win ratio of 72%

Life after Morne - Win ratio of 50 %

So, please inform all the other posters here about that theory and how its working out so far....

Pakie, I beg to differ, De Allende was more than OK. He made one error that led to the final try, but the whole team failed in that last play. Pollard also made a crucial miss that led to a try, but funny enough, no one saw that or by some reason no one cares to point it out. I distinctly recall him doing quite a bit, so I don't know where the nowhere comes from.

D amian fluffed all but one tackle. He ignited nothing on attack. He had a hand in two tries and nearly a third. Kuridrani made a complete fool of him all day.

I'll have to review the game again when I get time Draad, watched it in a restaurant while having lunch. Just didn't see De Allende do much at all.

I can't see why, because we lost a game to Oz a minute after the hooter, HM would feel any pressure to react. Unless there are new options to consider, or new injuries to accommodate.

Note all the kicks by Pollard and Willie. I can recall a couple of good kicks by Pienaar and Pollard, but Willie kicked crap. More than 5m gained per run by a 12 is good. Add the 2 clean breaks, the 3 defenders beaten and 1 offload, its not too bad. The missed tackles are a concern, but Pollard also missed a few telling ones. These guys made mistakes, but they were involved in play a lot. Had the support running been up to scratch, a couple of offloads could have resulted in tries.
As a side:
LMatfield0/000/0/0000003/01/000/0(L)de Jager0/000/0/75000118/04/000/0
Matfield left the field at +/- 18 mins, 3 tackles and a line out, for almost a quarter of the game?
Lood with 4 LO, 1 TO and 18 tackles, none missed. Only Scalla made more tackles(19, he missed one of his 20 attempts), in the whole match! Flo attempted 18, but missed 1)

Barnacle, you missed Michaels offings. Apparantly with the score tied in the 2012 Dunedin test, Morné cost the team a win while he was no longer on the field.

Moz, the biggest blunder would be to start making unforced changes now. I'd give Jannie a rest. Start Koch and Nyakane, with Beast and Malherbe on the bench. Id also give another hooker a run, but that should probably wait till the Argies match. Straus need time on the field, I never liked him, but he can't suddenly be this poor. We need another lock on the bench as well. My call would be Willemse. Morne can add value from the bench, but we need to give the rookies in crucial posisions as much time on the deck as possible.

Fox, that's just plain unfair. Morne had an off day, he missed crucial kicks, which in the end probably cost us the match. There are no guarantees that any other kicker would have made those kicks, but it was still Morne that missed them. By the time Goosen replaced him, the tide has already turned against the Boks. This is not a defence of Goosen, not by any means, but one cannot simplify like that. I still believe that Goosen can still live up to the expectation, if he can sort out some issues, injuries being the major one.

The big question is where and when to use Jean. There is no doubt a fit Jean would add enormously to our defensive decision making. But is he really fully recovered....I'm hopeful, but not convinced.

I will rather have him at 14 than JP, but he should only start playing from the bench during the RWC. There should be some warm ups as well? He should not be anywhere near the grounds when we play Samoa! Jean will probably play 13 though.

Is it fair to blame a player for a loss when his team was level when he departed? Furthermore, his replacement folded seconds later when, from a lineout, Nonu ran right over Goosen and NZ scored a try from that breakout! Then later NZ scored from a breakout where Goosen left a ruck unguarded by walking away with his back turned to the ball! Is that fair? No. The missed kicks did not cost the Boks that test. Goosen and Greyling did. More so Goosen.

Reading comments on the board and largely an over-reaction to a loss by the narrowest of margins in an away match against an Aussie team the same posters described as awesome before the match.
The youth brigade got much of what they wanted with Lood for 63 minutes, Malherbe for 35 etc. Lood was great in the tackle, physical and dominant preventing offloads but he is no 5 lock. Our lineout was not dominant like it should be. Never really challenged the Aussie ball. Lood doesn't distribute like Matfield or have the leadership. A big difference in rugby IQ. Last year, Lood could not maintain the physicality and his performances waned from the first test onwards. I see Flip was called up - he should start at 5 against the All Blacks.
Sio rolled up Malherbe. Every scrum Malherbe's position was compromised at the hit as Owens was allowing the Aussies to get an early push. From there, it looked like he was only able to use his inside leg to drive in an attempt to stay straight but ultimately was broken down and on his knees. Would have been interesting to see if Sio could have pulled off the same against Jannie. But this is becoming a trend with Malherbe who dominates average looseheads but seems to be easily compromised by the better ones. It wasn't fair on Saturday though with Owens allowing that early pressure.
Heinke was sub par too - can't believe he was the form loosehead in the Top 14 as advertised.
Owens had a decent game, but I thought his penalty call on Reinach when he was poaching was wrong and the penalty against the Boks when we were trying to run out the clock, saying Boks were off their feet was painful. Technically, probably right but you could have counted a couple dozen times in the game at breakdowns when Boks and Aussies were flying off their feet and had illegal body positions. Felt to me like he was orchestrating a tight finish at the end there.
Frustrated like the rest of you at the Boks inability to put opponents away, and our inability to co-ordinate a legitimate challenge on the high ball (JP is feeble, surely Meyer has seen enough).
Schalk showed he is our best all around loosie.
Pienaar has been decent, but he brings no sniping or threat around the ruck. Fourie will, and he will increase the tempo of the attack. Reinach's weakness - his kicking - was exposed with a terribly short box kick in the crucial final minutes of the match which put the Boks under tremendous pressure. Time for Faf to get some minutes off the bench although he has shown at times the same shortcoming. The margins for error in Test rugby are just too small to not execute what is a standard function of any scrumhalf.
Game really swung with the subs and Meyer must be second guessing himself. Aussie bench completely outplayed the Bok bench. Bok front row off, and Sio /Toomua/ Pocock coming on really changed things. Sio brought a dominant Aussie scrum, Pocock neutralized our dominance at the breakdown and Toomua brought needed direction and straight running to the Aussie backs. Mohoje is a liability for us. Kolisi is at least strong in the tackle and can carry the ball although both bring nothing to the breakdown.
For as much to go "wrong" as did with critical injuries and a poor bench, and still have barely lost ...... not bad at all.

Those kicking stats are not very much actually. And you can't work out metres per run, it doesn't work out that way. In one run he had acres of space to make lots of ground courtesy of Ruan and Pollard setting him free. Overall he was not effective and all of his inside attacks failed. The one big carry he needed to make from first phase saw Hooper drive him back with ease. He also failed to pressure Cooper at any point throughout the game.

This idiot desert Disaster is a habitual liar - his description of the tackles are just plan BS.  The following is just part of the lies he peddled:-

"Damian fluffed all but one tackle. He ignited nothing on attack. He had a hand in two tries and nearly a third. Kuridrani made a complete fool of him all day."
the following is also a lie;-
'The one big carry he needed to make from first phase saw Hooper drive him back with ease.'

First thing Hooper was off-side when he came at full strength for De Allende.  There was no driving back with ease.  De Allende went a step back and then went forward in the tackle.  Another player had to help Hooper in finalizing the tackle.  Penalty converted by Pollard was the only result of that one.
I think that it is not possible to believe anything this village idiot ever write on this site.  He lies as a matter of course.

Barn don't come on here and bullshit about what I said you lying twat. While Morne is and always has been utterly useless and any side with him in it is weaker for it....the issue lies with the 50% selections useless Meyer gets wrong and the fact that he is devoid of knowing how to play winning rugby.
Under good old Meyer we now stand with a 50% record against the major nations in the last 12 months....come this time next week it will be 11 played 6 lost and some clowns on here think this fool is on the right track....Fuck me you have low standards you lot.
Get a bloody grip....fact is Meyer is useless as are the likes of Matfield and Morne

Oi matey that is a pathetically ignorant post.....implying Matfield is better than Lood is insulting as is your take on Malherbe when clearly the issue was Heinke at 1 who was way out of his depth and the poor display by Owens in not pinging Oz for riding the engage.
Why the fuck after that display by Lood would you want to replace him with Flip....how bloody stupid

Flip is stronger, more mobile and a better defender. A better lineout jumper, more intelligent and a good breakdown competitor. Lood is a strong kid who will only do what happens to be in his vicinity to do. Doesn't go looking to get involved. Seems to get tired quickly.

The desert fox is cracking me up with his posts!!! Can this possibly be the Alucard of old?
Leave Allende and Kriel at centre they were excellent and more so considering this was first time out and their youth!!
Malherbe and Kitshoff were the dominant props in a complete season of Super 15. Malherbe has shown his credentials many a time and when jJannie first came off and he came on the Boks scrum flourished.
Lood was excellent. Any idea to bring back the show pony wee victor 105 kg and 38 years old is lunacy. The matfiled groupies are becoming more absurd by the day.
Meyer is showing alarming signs of not understanding what is required.I am wishing him the best of luck as maybe he will blunder his way onto the right path.
Is it time to play Koch off the bench. His considerable pace could make him very useful in the closing stages.
Nice to see ou Barnacle making a contribution but he must take off his bulle blinkers and wise up!

Latest news in USA Today(Sport Edition).
Meyer contacts two great authorities on rugby for assistance with world cup selection and coaching.
First was de Villers the ex Springbok coach for his rugby knowledge and communications with old players.
Second up was Holezart (aka Mozart) for his tactical plays and general all round rugby knowledge plus his exceptional ability to be blind to the old f.a.r.t.s still playing test rugby.
Meyer acknowledge that with these two expert duds in his team he foresaw no problem getting knocked out in the first round of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Bok, Bok.
Both duds refused to answer any questions put to them by the press but issued a joint statement thanking the coach for the honour and his exceptional ability to recognize their all round greatness with respect to all matters including rugby.
Last seen the two were seen entering a senior strip joint (Old chicks) to celebrate.
Bok, Bok.

Don't talk crap on this site.  First of all players should be selected on the basis of performance - not on the basis of age.   If the experienced older players perform on the higher level - they should get preference to less-experienced players.   If they do not perform then their selection is an abortion.
Nobody other than Dave has said anything about dropping Habana from the squad - the problem is with players like -
*   Pietersen - whose pace has deserted him completely and is now more inclined to try and avoid becoming involved and show nothing nothing in both defense and attack;
*   Pienaar who is a serious defense liability and shows zero in most aspects of his game;
*   Matfield who single-handedly reduces the Tight 5 combination to a Tight 4 by contributing zero in Tight 5 play and even shirks responsibilities in line-outs by calling throw-ins to anybody but himself; and
*   Heinke van der Merwe and Oupa Mohoje who are NOT international level players.    There are a drove of other "experienced" players who Meyer stuck to or brought into the squad who failed ultimately to deliver or at best could be regarded as very average in performance.  Those included Jacque Fourie, Francois Steyn, Morne Steyn, Willem Alberts, Juan Smith, Bakkies Botha, Gurthro Steenkamp, Schalk Brits and Fourie du Preez.  Some of them -
*   were chronically unfit (Fourie, Francois Steyn and Fourie du Preez (note all three playing club rugby in Japan);
*   were just not up to standard anymore (Morne Steyn, Willem Alberts, Juan Smith and Schalk Brits) and
*    like Bakkies Botha and Gurthro Steenkamp called it a day because they felt that they cannot compete anymore and decided to discontinue their professional careers .
The key issue is that selection should be based on performance with preference be given to experienced players if they still perform on top level. Non-performing experienced players should be avoided like the plague.  The tendency of Meyer to bring in experienced players with dubious performance records is just weakening the team and caused the present malaise as to the Springbok squad selection for the WC.

 Desert Disaster
I cannot bring myself down to your level of player assessments - partly because you lied when dealing with the issue because of prejudice  and partly because you are ignorant and just plain stupid.
Just to give you one example.  De Allende attempted 21 tackles and missed 6, while    Pollard attempted 15 tackles - missing 4,  That combined meant that Pollard and De Allende attempted 36 tackles - missing 10 of those.  The other 5 backline players combined attempted 28 tackles - missing 8 tackles.  In fact the total scenario is that compared to De Allende and Pollard - the other players were not really productive as defenders and the various missed tackle ratio's are as follows:-
Pollard/De Allende =   36 attempted  - 10 missed =   21,74%Rest of backline    =   28 attempted - 8 missed   =   22,22%Total backline      =    64 attempted - 18 missed =   21,95%
You have the gall to attack De Allende alone - the player with by far the highest number of tackle attempts in the backline - but just ignore the rest of the backline players.  That is ignorance at its highest order.

 Ou Maaikie, two issues mate.

First of all, your percentages are stuffed.
10 Tackles missed out of 36 equates to a missed tackle ratio of 27.78%
8 Tackles missed out of 28 attempts equates to a missed tackle ratio of 28.57%
18 Tackles missed out of 64 attempts equates to a missed tackle ratio of 28.13%

Second issue. You have, once again, highlighted your own hypocrisy with this remark:

"You have the gall to attack De Allende alone - the player with by far the highest number of tackle attempts in the backline - but just ignore the rest of the backline players.  That is ignorance at its highest order. "

That is exactly what you have been doing in another example. Your favourite 2013 Ellispark test. Morne Steyn was in the exact same position. He made more tackle attempts than any of the other backline players and he also made more tackles than any of the other backline players, yet you constantly targeted him about his defence. And then I am not even going to think about how you refused to address Willie Le Roux's 100% missed tackle ratio in that test. The same Willie who had a 50% missed tackle ratio against OZ, last weekend. Now you refer to DF's "gall to attack De Allende.....". You are some  piece of work, mate.

Damian has no stopping power. In every tackle, with only one exception, he ended up on the ground facing the opposite direction holding onto a lower leg. Other times he was simply beaten, once turning his back to Kuridrani, of all people.
Morné at Ellis Park made every tackle with authority, putting down locks and props without losing an inch. He did however miss some cover tackles, but saved three tries in the end tracking back.

The fist sentence of Disaster sent me into peals of laughter - how funny can you get?  Morne has stopping power - what a joke.  The worst defending flyhalf in world rugby who missed 46% of all tackle attempts in the Perth test and 55% in the recent Stade Francais game?  You call that stopping power - I call it an open highway through the channel for ball carriers.   You have the cheek to mention the Ellis Park test where Morne missed 30% of his tackles he missed 3 critical tackles - two of which resulted in tries being scored.
However, your lies about the tackle issue of De Allende has been exposed and you keep up your drivel and lies on the issue - so forget about it - nobody other than your two Village idiot partners believes your drivel in any event.
Just as a reminder - can you remember how De Allende treated  the tackle attempts of Francois Steyn with disdain and Fat Fransie ended up on  his backside on the grass.  That really was funny.     .
