Given all is lost with the RC given how useless Meyer is with his selections, its time for the man to wake up to the reality of his poor selections and embrace the new.
Hendricks is out of his depth at test level, Pienaar is boringly passive, we know what Jannie has to offer and Louw is as over rated as ever.
Against Argentina, we should ditch or rest the players above and bring in Senatla, Sithole or Combrink in for Hendricks......I suppose politics would dictate that it would have to be one of the first two.
At 9 bring in Faf with Hougaard on the bench.
At 3 start with Malherbe
At 7 bring in another powerhouse in Jacques du Plessis.
Forget Whiteley on the bench, test rugby is a step too far for the guy....he is just not physical enough. Bring in Kolisi or Arno Botha.
Instead we will probably see the return of Matfield, Jean, Alberts, du Preez and Morne

I think that Mozart will scream blue murder about Jannie - but I have looked at both matches involving Jannie and the scrums were just about stable.  The only times in the Aussie- Argentine  game when the Aussies had problems were in scrumming.  Bearing in mind the mess the Argentinians made of Jannie last year - I would think it would be very unwise to start with Jannie in that game.
Where I also agree with you is on Matfield - all facets of play (also scrumming) improved when he was gone in the Aussie game.  The Tight 5 was functioning much better afterwards.   Matfield is a proven non-=performer in Tight 5 play and his presence in line-outs is marred by the fact that he does not call line-outs to come to him when eh face strong line-out competitors.   His line-out takes has been progressively becoming less and less as a result.   He will be a negative in future games and the sooner he is out of the team the better.
I would rather see that the loosie combination for the Argentine tests be Brussow, Coetzee and Burger - not the change you suggested.   Arno Botha showed too little this year to justify selection and Du Plessis is basically a lock.  I would rather see Du Plessis on the bench ahead of Flippie - who did near to zero when he replaced De Jager yesterday.
I do not think Meyer would bring in Du Preez.   Du Preez has no chance of full recovery from his latest injury and is not match-fit at this stage.  If he does a repeat of the injury situation of last year will be on the cards.   De Villiers will not play in the coming test - the most that can be expected is that he could be on the bench.  Only the chronically stupid  would pick Morne and Alberts to play in any match - so it will be a serious reflection on Meyer if he goes down to that level.

I dont think Coetzee will be back in time......Jacques du Plessis was easily our best 7 all S15......so he would walk my side with ease.
Arno Botha is a class act and showed some form in his last two S15 games.

I'd love to see Malherbe start against  the Bargies. Why risk somebody as valuable as Jannie. Brussouw deserves another chance, we know Coetzee can give us 80 minutes of donkey work....why not fully explore what a skilled player can do. Faf on the bench....might as well give him a try Reinacht was a deer in the headlights on Saturday.

Bring in Kolisi because Whiteley isn't physical enough? There's funny! Du Plessis is a drone and Arno who was good two years ago has shown nothing since his injury. Bring back Alberts.

And our lineout was a mess, but Victor needs to be kept in cotton wool for the WC. Let's see what Lood can do against the Bargies.

It really is tragic how Arno slipped off the radar. Having a fine debut, then wham! Injury.

I would hate to see Jannie disgraced by the Argentinians like he was last year.   He was solid against the Aussies and AB's - nothing more - but that was a major  improvement on what he was over the past year in tests and Super 15.
I was watching the game of the Argentinians against the Aussies and the only element where the latter team  did struggle was in the scrumming.  That for me was a bad sign when it came to Jannie's situation.  In the Aussie game there was an improvement in scrumming when Matfield was replaced - and I assume he would be back against Argentina.  That combination potentially could result in poor scrumming in the upcoming tests.
Another disgrace of Jannie like last year would be a real comedown  and would be a bad sign for the upcoming WC campaign.
Hell - Alberts is a disgrace in himself.  You talk about Du Plessis being a drone and Coetzee doing the donkey work.  Alberts is not even a drone and he does not do the donkey work as well.   He has not done anything of note for years - the laziest player around.   He was injured in June last year and in the few matches he played for the Sharks in Super 15 this year he was even less productive than he normally is - slower, fatter and more useless.   How anybody cannot see his total lack of contribution when on the field of play is amazing.
Lastly you talk about Matfield and the line-outs against the AB's being a mess.  The mess had nothing to do with Matfield's absence.  There were 3 lost line-outs the one being due to an overthrow by Bismarck - the other two Schalk being out-jumped by Read.  In the last two tests against the AB's Matfield made a mess in two line-outs - one leading to an AB try - so would he have been an improvement on Saturday?  I doubt it very much - since he as a rule he called less and less line-outs to come to him - especially in cases of him facing stronger opposition.   Burger would not have been able to take any more throw-ins to him, while Matfield would hide away as became the trend in recent games.   In any event Matfield's deficient contribution in Tight 5 play was clearly evident after his departure in the Aussie test and he is the one element that reduces our Tight 5 to a Tight 4.  The worst thing to do would be to put him in cotton-wool and our Tight 5 being disgraced in the WC.  It would be better to lose our Tight 5 cohesion against the Argentinians than in the WC.  Maybe further proof would open Meyer's eyes to what is really going on.

Good one Moz you clearly are as rugby ignorant as Meyer is.....Lood was fantastic in the line-outs, the only line out lost was the one that went to Schalk.....but hey ho lets keep useless Matfield in cotton wool for the WC.....for hell, if he had been there.....Schalk would not have lost that line-out......unbelievable.

du Plessis is a drone - wow, what do you base that on.....and lets bring Alberts back, the guy that has done stuff all for 2 years.

Kolisi is far stronger than Whiteley, he proved that all year with his physicality.

You seem to be stuck in a time warp with Coetzee, I take it you missed him in action all season?

If Jannie is valuable, why was Malherbe better in that first scrum after replacing Jannie......let me guess you will bang on about Malherbe when Heinke v/d Merwe was his loosehead.......completely missing the point.

Moz, you are a Meyer clone......both utterly useless when it comes to player assessment and selection.......good old Meyer with 6 losses in the last 11 games against major rugby sides.

When are you going to wake up to how wrong you are?

I mean, it does not get worse than telling us Alberts is a better option than the massively impressive du Plessis.......you are clueless.

Arno Botha was damn good in his last two games for the Bulls......no doubt you missed that as well.....hell you will have us believe Lood and Coetzee are crap and de Allende and Kriel cant defend.......and if Jean was fit, he's be in your side along with useless Matfield......the joke is on you.

So far this test season Dave:
I have been right about  Allende's  defence, right about Kriel's promise, right about Pollard being our best general play flyhalf, Pienaar being a pro, Jannie, Schalk being the real deal again.
And wrong about.....uhm.....I'm struggling. Well Lomp has certainly exceeded my jaundiced opinion of him, despite being bamboozled for a try against Oz.

By the way, I have just watched the young Bangladesh bowler on tape, I'm catching up on other sports after the Tour. Bowled your man de Kock who took us out of the WC, for yet another duck. Pip pip.

How have you been right about de Allende's defence when he made 10 and only missed 2 against the best side in the game - come again?

Pienaar has been as average as ever.....nothing pro about him.

What the hell has Jannie done other than be solid at best......Malherbe was stronger when he replaced him against Oz

What crap that Lood was bamboozled for a try.....it had stuff all to do with him......you have a real warped way of apportioning blame to players depending on how much you rate them or not......look no further than the Barrett try where according to you only JJ was to blame.....Jean and Morne were never at fault.

Much like your pathetic take on de Kock losing us the match......what utter rubbish.......misguided throw from Rossouw in wet conditions......but no mention of AB's cock up with his missed run out chance......you are so predictable Moz and I see straight through you.

Your poor calls have been that Habana is still the business, that de Allende and Kriel are suspect, that Pienaar is a pro, that Matfield should be in the side, that Jannie is better than Malherbe  and that Louw was worthy of his place......all wrong.

You have been wrong on virtually everything.   You were advocating for the return of Francois and Morne Steyn to the side.   You were totally wrong about De Jager.   You went overboard on De Allende's defence and said you saw nothing of him in the latest - test when his defense was up to standard.
You were wrong about Pienaar - ignoring his putrid defense.   You were wrong about Pietersen - whose performance was poor.
You are wrong about Matfield and will only find it out if we lose our Tight 5 cohesion that came to the fore subsequent to his replacement against the Aussies, after it was gone with the wind in the EOYT.  That one will come back and haunt you when it is too late in the WC.
So try again and think clearly about you wrote over the past three months and try and wipe the 3 meter egg covering you are under.
