 Exactly, Mike ... Matfield is a thing of the past ... thankfully!!
He's no longer there to disrupt the national side with his arrogant and narcissistic ways.
No longer a nonentity in the tight loose.

No longer a nonentity in the tight 5.
We will no longer see him being tackled back 5m by a man half his size and weight.
No longer will we witness him going to ground with ball in hand only to have it stripped ... and then finding himself on the wrong side of the maul in an off side position ... giving away penalties like there's no tomorrow.
There is much to look forward to in Bok rugby ... and the best of it all is ... NO MORE MATFIELD.
He made his name tottie by returning to a sport that had clearly left him behind. 
Using excuses that he was the only one left is as absurd as they come. We would have managed a lot better without a 5 lock in our starting 15 ... but instead Meyer decided to saddle us with this over the hill blundering fool.
Even Bakkies was brought back into the mix and we all had a good laugh at him hurtling toward the try line at a snail's pace ... while Willie jogged beside him calling for the ball. 
Matfield embarrassed himself and us and in trying to run the show cost us the Japanese match.
I hope it was a lesson learnt ... never to be repeated again ... 
Good riddance ... !!
