Spies confirms Bulls did not want him- Off to Montipilier

 I think there is a clear misunderstanding as to the position of Spies.   I think Ludeke wants him - but with the latter's departure, there are some Bulls stalwarts who are not wanted anymore.   
Instead of looking at team renewal Ludeke was more interested in team retardation by hanging onto has-beens and never-has-beens and ultimately that cost the Bulls over the past two years.
That list includes Spies, Matfield, Stegmann, Kruger, Greyling and co.   Even though the Bulls obtained the services of Labuschagne, Strauss and Nyakane this year they utilized the said players poorly and played both Nyakane and Labuschagne out of their normal positions.   
Spies is not the player that burst onto the scene nearly a decade ago - when he performed well.   He has gone back badly - partly due to injury - over the past few years and his present contribution is based more on reputation than actual performance.         

Yes agreed Spies was a great player when he was at his best. He lost his mojo and since then he is just good in patches.  His work rate has become less and less over the years. He is certainly out of Bok selection is the Bulls dont want him, Meyer is sure to be singing the same tune. 

 I think the answer remains Vermeulen at 8 - with Whiteley as second choice.   I think that Arno Botha may yet prove to be third in line,  but he was very innocuous this year.  In the long run Liebenberg may be the answer, but he was very disappointing in the U20 WC and will have a lot of "growing up" to do.
