Before the 2007 Worldcup and his blood disorder he was immense(in some games).

Now his best attribute is lineout jumping followed by catching kickoff, with the odd bulocking run here and there.

His work rate is too low- if he plays a dedicated fetcher is required like brussouw.

He has had 50 test caps- surely his day are now at their end- unless ex bulls Heineken Meyer says otherwise

We need all round forwards- especially with Alberts. Alberts is the strongest ball carrier in the game- but has no fetching(playing onto the ball) ability. So the other 2 loosies must be all rounders. We cant have Spoes and Alberts in the same backrow- only brussouw would balance this- and not even totally.

Marcell Coetzee is a definite in the backrow, as is Alberts- It is just who the 3rd is. Kankowski must be in with a shot- as is Duane Vermulen.  (both specialist number 8s). Alberts could also play at 8. So if brussouw was to be selected it would be-  6. Brussow, 7. Marcell. 8. Alberts.

If not brussoww- it would be 6. Marcell. 7. Alberts. 8. Kancowski/vermuelen

Provided Vermuelen is really fit etc my choice is Coetzee, Vermuelen and Alberts.

Making spies in to loose forward has proved to be a monumental blunder. I have no doubt whatsoever he would have made a world class wing and have long lamented the move.

We imaging ourselves to be extremely smart when we take big fast backs and make them into forwards. That we always seem to have loosies to burn and are a little thin on backs is never considered. Mind boggles really.

if was the brainchild of HM and blue bulls to shift him to 8th man where he was always a quick player with great skills. he can still make the move i feel but playing 8th man he lacks the momgrel mentality and that will never change. so i feel i might be better for his career to make the shift as quickly as possible. he does offer a lot at the back. its just up to the coaches for having to climp out of the conservative box and thinking like a poephol and trying to build a winning team with really attacking weapons.

very decent team but alberts and vermeulen will be the very heavy ball runners but they need a fetcher to balance the lose trio out in my view. coetzee does a lot of work but the breakdowns will be a problem without a proper fetcher
