Ummm, hakwa, did you paste this here by mistake? if not, don't you think you'd be better off posting this on some message board where the regulars give even the smallest toss about Rugby League?

I know League is a rival to Union in New Zealand and Australia but here in South Africa it's a nothing sport and means about as much to us as things like synchronised swimming, dressage and ice hockey.

 You r mistaken Rooi - it is not a rival to union in NZ or Australia or Great Britain. It complements union in these nations . Anyway, i gnorance is bliss as they say.

Never mind the nub Hakwa, feel free to post League comments. These rugby experts still don't realize that League has been shaping the development of Union for roughly twenty years. Since 1996, at the latest, ALL defensive systems have been directly imported or adapted from League. No surprise then that ALL attacking structures to combat those defensive upgrades have come from League! No surprises then that the best attack coaches watch and learn from League. The countries with the weakest presence in League are also lagging behind in Union. The same loud mouths lamenting conservatism are aggressively opposed to learning from League, or any other sport for that matter. Stale and stunted. I must confess I haven't watched League since the WC final, so I may download this one and see what you are talking about. With this lean period between NFL seasons I'm struggling to find anything of interest. Super XV has been extremely dull.

 League has been pro for decades before Rugga. Logic dictates that the 15 man code can learn a lot from them...good and bad. To do and what not to do.

 I used to play League for my hometown and Union for my school.Sometimes you just cant get enough rugby of any variety ! Besides it provides some good stock for our Union teams [ Benji Marahal excluded !]Hakwa I thought you would be a blues man like me !!!!!Oh well cant all be on the right side eh Brother ? hehehehe.....yay Blues !

Lestat, NFL is the sporting alternative for "dull". The best things about American football are the tailgate and the cheerleaders.  

South Africans don't give a flying toss about Rugby League. Anyone who disputes that is just plain ignorant. I don't know of any Rugby League clubs in the country and our national team is so crap they got hammered by Papua New Guinea at the last RLWC.

Just pointing this out to our Kiwi and Aussie friends because Rugby League has a much lower status here than it does in New Zealand, Australia and the UK . . . to the extent that we never bother talking about Rugby Union because rugby here is just real rugby . . . not the 13 man non-scrumming non-lineout Rugby Lite game.
