Picking my Team of the Tournament before the final because too often these teams are dictated by who won. (Players I considered who were unlucky not to make my team in brackets).

14 Adam Ashley-Cooper (Santiago Cordero)
13 Tevita Kuridrani
12 Ma'a Nonu (Damien de Allende)
11 Julian Savea
10 Nicolas Sanchez (Dan Carter, Dan Biggar)
9. Fourie du Preez (Gareth Davies)
8. Louis Picamoles
7. David Poc' ock
6. Mamuke Gorgodze (Jerome Kaino)
5. Lood de Jager (Leone Nakarawa)

Damian and Lood?
Lood let us down in the two biggest games of our World Cup! Damian did what? Beat the USA... once? Hernandez is infinitely superior to Damian, Giteau did more against England than Damian has done all year. Toomua is another better option. The rest, surprisingly isn't that bad, with a few exceptions aside from the two already mentioned. Some bias shown to these two to say the least.
Before you fly into another little foot stamping, I'll leave you with some questions. Let's see how much of a rugby expert you really are. You are going to tell me how stupid I am, so I want to know exactly what elevates these two players over others in their position, to the point where they even be considered players of the tournament. Point me to tangible things in each game.
There are other players who have done more, namely, Du Preez and Schalk. Pollard, Duane and Louw are others. If these two don't even stand out within the Bok squad, then how can it be that they qualify for payer of the tournament, or second best in their position?
It gets even worse. The shortcomings I highlighted all year was where these two came undone. You were one of those who didn't agree, but here we are. Damian can't defend and can't create space or bring other players into the game. Lood is an immobile player with terrible hands. He has front on power, but lacks the endurance to last the full 80. Its hilarious that you won't be able to see where it all went wrong for you.
Fire away. Let's hear how stupid and idiotic I am with your large array of naughty words.

Thanks Desert Fool. If a complete clown and rugby noob like you disagrees with me then it pretty much vindicates my selections.

Lomp who misses a straightforward tackle for a NZ try and is totally out competed by Whitelock. What a joke.

du Preez no way in hell, he was awful in the semi......most 9's have been better starting with Aron Smith

Dave, my team is selected on performance for the entire tournament, not just one match. I don't think du Preez was bad on Saturday and for the rest he was excellent . . . the only one of Meyer's has-beens who produced the goods at this tournament.
I made scrumhalf a tight call between du Preez and Gareth Davies . I thought Aaron Smith had a very quiet tournament by his high standards and he didn't really feature in my thinking. I would have picked Will Genia as my third choice.

But you would by implication agree Scott Sio is the best loosehead.....this tail pipe stuff is making you look more stupid than usual Dave.

Dave, I just remembered Greig Laidlaw. He's another one for the shortlist but don't think I'd pick him ahead of FdP.
Also, can you hear a very faint yapping noise? Almost like a geriatric old fop whimpering for some attention?

I think I agree with most of your selections bar Sio. He was not the powerhouse scrummer he was given out to be. and would rather prefer Marcos Ayerza at one and a mix up of other looseheads coming close. That could include Sio and Malherbe (based on hsi performances in the semi and final).
Don't listen to the japping dogs - they are blinded by their own prejudice against players and De Jager and De Allende are two of those. They go for De Jager because of his missed tackle on Kaino - yet they refuse to admit that in the whole tournament thus far De Jager made 74 tackles - missing only 3 - the highest tackle count of any of the tight 5 players in the tournament and the lowest missed tackle ratio of any player in the tournament.
