Faced with fast teams, huge teams and four consecutive series without home advantage the Hawks prevail. The oldest team in the playoffs was also the best.

Ice hockey is the best American sport by a mile..perhaps the best team sport of all.... demanding strength, speed and endurance...and the old Hawks provided all of this and more....ice, cold professionalism.

The Hawks are a  model of how  to build around your experienced players, to be slow to discard the players who have proven they belong, while setting a high bar for new talent. That's the way to improve. That's the way to build a sporting dynasty.

The most continuous action of any sport.....Wardad. We watched last night on a 120 inch screen, which helped enormously in picking up the nuances. The transitions from attack to defence in ice hockey are instantaneous.....you can be 3 goals up and lose your lead in a minute. There are almost no stoppages in play.....it's all settled in 60 minutes of continuous action with two breaks to recover and smooth the ice.

Even commies like Chabal's comerades are into the game.

Lovely competition... there is a tendancy for Russian men and women to respect Americans.I noticed funny enough the American youth reciprocates, despite Hollywood bullshit...personally I love and respect Russians... pity they do not play rugby at higher levels

I love the Russian literature and their choirs..the Volga boat song. The worlds best mathematicians. A great country they could have been so much more than Germany. But communism killed that dream

I haven't watched a lot of it, but loved playing it on the computer when they still made the NHL games - which is the only reason I know names like Jaromir Jagr and Steve Konawalchuk (I usually played with the Capitals). The only team game of which I found the computer simulation to be both highly enjoyable and fairly realistic.
