Checked YouTube for the incident and just found this one. It is not clear, but Messam does appear to have him in a stranglehold when they are both flat on the ground.  It is slow motion but it seems for ages that Messam is holding or chocking him.

 Yes SB, what pisses me off is that  normally reasonable people think this isn't that bad. This is very dangerous, it is way after the tackle. In fact he moved his arm to the neck after the tackle. On the ground where he is supposed to release the tackler. What the hell was he trying to do other than hurting the player. JW with respect to you as a person. Due process my arse!

I saw the footage during the game & afterwards when I watched the downloaded version.  Penalty or warning would be appropriate IMO. Players are always trying to slow the opposition so they cannot participate in the next play. If it was choking him rather than illegally holding him down then a card is appropriate not just a penalty. 

 Maybe we should wait for Beeno1 & his good mate Beeno to give their opinions although remarkably they never seem to disagree

this is because he was found guilty of "an act contrary to good sportsmanship" which is not penalized.
It would be like if you are guilty not of murder or not paying a parking fine which both are penalized but of, for example, not being polite with your neighbour. Do you know someone in jail for not being polite with his neighbour?

Abasque so if Messam was choking the player for ages- which appears to be the case- is this just being inpolite? 
If my neighbor and I got parking tickers in the road, I would expect both of use to have to pay them, or neither of us.

The Sharks player Botham may have been pretending that he was choked, but watching the unclear YouTube video it does appear as if he is being choked.
1. Why was Messam Cited? 
2. What exactly was he found guilty of doing?
3. If it was not clear why he was cited, was choking considered as the offence?
If it is not clear why Messam was being cited, then it is easy for him not to be guilty. 
It should be in the public domain what the charges and allegations are. Law and ethics need precedent to be transparent and accountable.

the SANZAR judicial which are professional people who work in interpreting the rugby laws and know about it, after watching all the avalaible footage in perfect quality (not the sh¡t that you posted, with all due respect but it's a sh¡t where it's imposible to see nothing) has found Messam guilty of "contravening Law 10.4 (m) Acts contrary to good sportsmanship."
This means nothing. And is not punished.

 Keep on bullshitting yourselves. He moved his arm to the neck area long after the tackle. He forced the neck back in a headlock. The siting was for a tackle infringement in the first place, which is BS. He got off light.He used both his arms in the end. Deliberately strangling the player. Wait till it's a precious AB on the receiving end. This is almost as bad as Moz trying to justify Bisfarts lowlife kick in the face of an oponent.

I found a clearer video.  Have a look at the Sharks players face when he is being choked. 
Messam could have let go when they were on the ground. Instead he continues to choke hold.  As it is slow motion it is hard to see for how long, however he is certainly choking him. 
Otherwise the Sharks player could have recieved an Oscar from holly wood.
