Lomp is a very good young lock  - 22 yeras old and 125 kg. ytou are wreiyting him off.Goosen also is still very youngat 22 and you are writing him off.Sorry its far too early to write them off.
I dont know how Quinn Roux is going or Stander but they were very good when here in Sa.Mvovo has improved and is far more physical and Lappies may yet make it

Lomp is not smart, that never changes. He is constantly confused by what's happening on the park. He may have decent physical assets, but if he doesn't have good software it makes no difference. Other young locks will surpass him, it's not a vacuum. Etzebeth by contrast gets it.
As for Goosen, he reminds me of JJ two years ago when you among others were telling me how wrong I was. I wasn't wrong, I was objective. Goosen is a lightweight chap who will never wear the physical aspects of the game at top level. He may be young but his malfunction can't be fixed.

We have to be ruthless about these decisions or the non starters spend years occupying good space.

Now tell me Mozart - is Willem Alberts smart - Is Francois Steyn smart - is Morne Steyn smart - is Balkies Botha smart.  That list is long and getting longer.
The other issue is the serious physical deficiencies of some players.  Is Matfield at 105 kgs heavy enough to be a lock?   Is De Jongh at 87 kgs an adequate 13.
The problem with the above is that the players you hate and where you write off their performances are all on that list and some of the statements made by you are laughable if not just plain lies.  Liggies Labuschagne - recognized by most commentators as a very good loosie - weighs 108 kgs, yet you call him Liggies.    A much heavier slow carthorse like Alberts - who is seriously deficient in defense - is your idea of a good loosie.
That list should include a number of your favourites and reads as follows:-
12   Francois Steyn10   Morne Steyn 7   Willem Alberts 5   Victoria Matfield 3   Jannie du Plessis All the above are has-beens or never-has-beens and their presence in the Springbok squad is an insult to the team and the country.
Your player assessments stink to high heaven because it is not based on objective performance assessment - but on your personal liking or disliking of players.

You mean Victor Matfield WC final MOM.....Francois Steyn 20 year old WC winning kicker.....Willem Alberts the man who snaffled the kick against the Poms to score a winning try that had the commentators flummoxed....Morne Steyn the guy who put one over from the half to beat the Lions and Jannie our only reliable tighthead for he last 6 years?

Are you ....hahaha.... saying  those players haven't made their international mark? Are you comparing them to .....wehe....Liggies?

I did say "lowlife" skunk. We are not dealing with a "normal" skunk here, Moz. We are dealing with the type who thinks nothing about having a bash at intelligence of ones dad, whom he does not know and never met and never will because he passed away more ten years ago.

You are as dof as dose can possibly become - liars and scum of the earth.   Kicking a goal is not necessarily clever - you stupid old wreck of the brain.  Willem Alberts who has caused more losses of games than anybody else - being by accident in the right position and falling on  a ball is not a sign of cleverness.
Why you dof dose don't you look at their career performances - not individual things that happened once in their career and are never repeated?

Now if only HM had a record to back up his decisions......guess you forgot that point when compiling that.......well what should we call it.......waste of a thread.

Would all have some credibility if our coach and his selections actually beat sides like Oz, NZ, Wales and Ireland

Good one Moz.......just a pity you have ZERO to back it up with unless losing 4 of your 9 tests against major rugby opponents turns you on......bwhaaaaahaaaaa

The reason I reacted negatively is that you and your fellow-idiot turned a thread into a vicious and nasty personal attack on me.   You started it - not me.  Mozart called players stupid and that reacted a question from me as to some of his and your favourite players - so now suddenly you are hurt by my comments.
Dave is right - this type of thread is a waste of a thread by idiots spouting absolute BS about a game they know zero about.

@Mike. That was not "reacting negatively". That was purely as low as one can get. There was nothing nasty in that thread. I have showed you where and why I did not agree with your arguments and you could not convince me  otherwise. There was no single shred of nastiness in that thread until you decided to attack the intelligence of my late farther, you f@cking swine.

Troof......I'm talking about Meyer's last season which was piss poor.....losing 4 of the 9 against the major sides is just not good enough and that is the measure.

This year will be just as bad as he is a piss poor coach......with no idea......look no further than the pathetic selection of old man Matfield

I apologized elsewhere for involving Ceradyne's father in the discussion - but what caused it is ignored  by both Mozart and Him.   Their constant personal attacks on me is what caused the problem in the first instance - I completely lost my cool.
When I tried a few months back to cool down the situation pertaining to personal attacks by both Mozart and Ceradyne it did not last long because they have a habit of personal attacks on this site which they cannot change.   It mostly follows weak statements they made by queried.   They broke the agreement on the issue repeatedly despite requests on my part to tone down and stop breaches.
It is back now to the situation where they tried to rule the site and if anybody disagrees with them they try and lord it out over them by becoming personally abusive.

That's a nice fiction Mike.....you as the innocent Bo Peep, me as the unprincipled wolf.  Why don't you just admit you have broken club rules.

But if you want a de tente I would give you the same advice Gordon Gekko gave in Wall Street: "stop telling lies about me and I'll stop telling the truth about you".

BS - I did not - but then you think that whenever somebody differ from you it is not acceptable and the person is insulting you.  I never insulted you for two months - but had to give up and respond in kind - because you started your insults after a month and when I pleaded with you to refrain from that you referred to one of my responses, which in fact was a mere difference of opinion without any insulting content at all.

Someone once wrote this in reply to a buddy of yours who also like to use the term "fact" very irresponsibly:

" The only FACT regarding your statement is that it is in FACT an OPINION. An OPINION that is disproved by the FACTS. The FACT that something is YOUR OPINION does not make it a FACT, even if you say that it is a FACT in capital letters. Even if you truly believe it to be FACT, there are others that disagree with that OPINION and while both OPINIONS may be either right or wrong, they remain merely OPINIONS, until they are proven either correct or wrong.

A FACT is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. The usual test for a statement of FACT is verifiability, that is whether it can be proven to correspond to experience. The FACT that your OPINION is in actual FACT the exact opposite of the verifiable experience (FACT), therefore proves that your OPINION is in FACT not FACT..."
