In Sept 2014 I dared to make the following remark:
RE: Is Johan Goosen doomed to become a Racing Metro bench sitter?
September 27, 2014, 22:03:50

And the Racing Metro first choice flyhalf started at fullback against Grenoble................ and then got himself yellow carded.

Looks like there are more people who think that he should be playing at 15 where he has more time and where he is not constantly in the firing line of opposing loose forwards, causing him to turn his back and run away from tackle situations.

Of course ou Tokkie and his  mate, Shezza immediately crapped themselves followed by their other buddy Saffex.
Prior to my remark there were also remarks by another "idiot who knows f@kol about rugby".

As a fullback I think he could be useful, I say could be because I think there are better alternatives. I understand he is young, but he has very real physical limitations that are never going to disappear.

Of course Ou Tokkie's reaction was to harp back on Morne Steyn and Stade Francais:

RE: Is Johan Goosen doomed to become a Racing Metro bench sitter?

Following the example of Moirne at Stade Francias?  Unlikely.   Racing metro got the Irish flyhalf and will use him mostly - but Goosen will get enough game time with them.

Unlike Morne he will not botch the games up like Morne used to do when coming from the bench for Stade Francais.
......... and.....

Doffies

He is defibnitely going to do better than the dim Morne Steyn at Stade francais - you bloody fool..   Saffex' little pearl of wisdom:
RE: Rugby Championship 2012 - Johan Goosen Defence
February 14, 2014, 12:57:48

As I keep saying, Goosen is our best 10 prospect since readmission, is twice the player Morne is and for that simple reason will NEVER move to fullback.....no-one would ever be that stupid to suggest such a move - its just plain stupidity.

Now why would I dig up this lot, one might ask. Simple really. I saw an article on News24 about player movements in the Top14 and noticed that Racing Metro has signed yet another flyhalf, Remi Tales. I remembered how ou Tokkie crapped himself when I said that Tales was also on his way to RM in their search for a replacement for Johnny Se.xton. I also remembered that they have already signe Dan Carter as well and decided to have a look at the 2015/16 RM squad. I discovered that they now  have four flyhalves, i.e. Dan Carter, Benjamin Dambielle, Maxime Javaux and Remi Tales. So what happened to Goosen.
Yes, you guessed it....................... Fullback.

Eat crow ou Tokkie, Shezza and Saffex.

Cerudunce windpomp why dont you dig up my post re wee matfiled's disruptive role at the bullle while you are digging up posts?
As for Goosen. Come home Johan and please, pretty please come to the Mighty Stormers and we will very happily play you at flyhalf given your great talent.Dense oaks who think a guy has peaked at 23 need to get real. Wise up windpomp!
I wonder if ou barnacle would agree with you on this one - not that barny always gets it right - putting it politely.
Johan just needs correct managment via an astute coach like E ddie Jones. Also not everyone is able to speak french easily. Come home Goosen and play some real rugby for the Mighty Stormers and help us win the long overdue Super trophy!

@Beeno why don't you p!ss of and find it? The reason I could find those posts was because I had an idea what I was looking for and where it was. I have no idea where your BS is hidden. I have tried a forum search but cannot find it. Until you and your mate  Tokkie can come up with it, it will be deemed to be bollicks.
You have to face facts though. Goosen blew it this far and has been thrown a lifeline by his club. He should grab it with both hands. Many players have gone to France and learnt French. Fact is that according to his club, the French lessons is a small part of the issue. He has also not been bringing his side in practice.

Ou cerundunce windpomp its there but you dont want to find it. Sorry but both Mike and I remembered the article. Two honest witnesses is enough windpomp!!!
As for Goosen he needs to come back and join up with the Mighty Stormers. He is wasting his time playing frog rugby.  The french twits are all against him because he cant speak frog taal!
Alas too many very talented players are overseas and there will be more to follow. A time will come when the Boks South Africa are playing the French boks! The Pom Boks etc (Becs will be frothing by then!).
I am just waiting for the day nz start importing South African forwards! If the poms, for one, destroy them again as badly that day may be sooner than you think!

If it is there then find  it and post it. That is what I do when something I have posted is questioned.
In any case, you are doing quite nicely in diverting the attention away from the fact that a few nutters were crapping themselves over Goosen moving to fullback.
Be that as it may, if I was Goosen I would have stayed at Racing Metro, put my nose to the grindstone and settle myself as a good fullback. That is my honest opinion. He should have moved to fullback ages ago.

Goosen is of course a flyhalf long before a 15. Those frogs are short on rugby acumen cerudunce windpomp - but clearly not the only ones!

Do you know if he'll go to the Stormers before the start of the Top 14? Too much rugby will most likely lead him to not being at his best for the Stormers.

Rumor has it Gert is trying really hard to get Marnitz at Newlands for next year.  There was an article in "Die Burger" earlier this week. If Gert succeed,  I doubt Goosen will be coming to CT. I would have referred Goosen,  but if they can fix Boshoff's head,  he could be very good for WP.

BTW,  Cera.  I'm not one of the Goosen fanboys,  but there is something else at play in this whole ill discipline saga. It was very poor judgement and class from the coach to do his laundry in the press. The french lessons thing is not the whole story.  It was a stick to beat him with for another sin... that much is clear to me at least.

Whether it was poor style of the coach or not, does not change the fact that they were not too pleased with him, Draad. I have actually searched for the original article in the French press and put it through Google Translate. I will try and find it again. The French lessons, the way I saw it, was but one of the factors. Give me some time to try and find the article again.

http://www.rugbyrama.fr/rugby/top-14/2014-2015/top-14-racing-laurent-labit-recadre-violemment-goosen_sto4777747/story.shtml

Translation:
After a promising first part of the season with Racing, Johan Goosen has gradually disappeared from radar since 2015. The reason? The behavior of the South African was obviously very disappointed coach Laurent Labit: "We had discussions with him and he knows why he was not on the leaves in the second half of games this season and are sporting reasons. non-sporting. ""More serious is expected from a player of his age," says the coach. "We have given him time to integrate the first six months because he is young, but there are things that a professional must do and take. He must get back on track if he wants to play. He still has two-year contract with us. He knows he has to change course, otherwise there's a good chance he will not be there in the third year. " Including the Paris coach accused of having dried French courses during the last five months and not respecting some of its demands for training.
They have not just dumped him. They are obviously giving him  a chance to live up to expectations. The above was also the article that Sport24 referred to in their article. That was the only article, on the issue, that I could find. The French lessons  does not seem to have been the only stick that was "used against him". From what I can deduct, it was only an additional issue that they had with him.

I cannot understand the mentality of some people. I made a remark about Victor Matfield's supposed link with the Stormers and his tenure at the Bulls and your two mates counter it with some article that they cannot produce. Now they want me to find the article to counter my remark. Ridiculous, don't you think?
Nope. Apparently not that ridiculous because you are now trying to pull the same stunt. I have posted an article supporting my view and you want me to go find an article to counter my own view. Why don't you p!ss of and find it yourself? Then we can compare the two articles and debate the issue.
