Nope they proved the youngsters didn't have a prayer. Hell you would have left Monty and Os out of the WC team. And if it was up to you Sykes would have been one of the locks, and the utterly useless turncoat Watson would have been one of the flanks.
Your teams are no better than this junior cadet team and would have failed just as badly.

Nope it proved Jake and PDV did not have a bloody clue. Those sides picked were pathetic and serve to remind me just how average Jake was and why he came so close to being sacked before the WC.
You have me confused with someone else re Sykes. I liked him but he would have featured way down my list. One certainty is that he was better than useless Alberts or marginally better Muller.
Hell if I selected my best side of youngsters now and they got thumped by Oz or NZ I'd say you had a point re youngsters but to use those pathetic sides as a measure of our young talent at the time is insulting.
A young Bok side of:
15. Willie 14. v/Wyk 13. de Allende 12. Serfontein 11. Senatla 10. Pollard 9. Faf de Klerk 1. du Toit 2. Cooper 3. Marcel v/d Merwe 4. Willemse 5. Etzebeth 6. Coetzee 7. PSDT 8. Arno Botha would kick some serious arse.
