The stupid Director of Rugby structure
Listen
You are as idiotic as ever, The Jake saga was in his book and it was clear that the trouble was the actions of the Bulls and the Cheetahs. The smaller Unions were influenced by the Watson political crowd, the major Unions not so.
When the vote was held in the case of White - the split was 17 - 16 not to renew his contract -two of the votes coming from the Bulls and the Cheetahs. When the vote afterwards were for replacement of White the vote split was the same - De Villiers 17 votes and Meyer 16 votes, So who stabbed White in the back? Obviously the Bulls and the Cheetahs.
De Villiers was on a contract expiring after the WC of 2011. Meyer's contract expired after the 2015 WC, Those are facts whether you like it or not. Your musings and deductions cannot counter facts - and shows you know bugger-all about the issue. Relying on newspaper reports is no use and that is all you ever quote.
So your rubbish about Meyer is meaningless - he was going out at the end of December 2015 since he was not going to get a contract extension to the next WC. His resignation was a face-saver - end of story,
As to Meyer - he was so useless that there was no chance of a contract renewal iro him. He was part of the reason Jake's contract was not extended and what he sowed he reaped.
The plank vote was as given in 2008. There was a group of SARU members who wanted to retain White - but the Bulls and the Cheetahs together with the smaller unions voted on him not to be retained. They then also voted for the plank.
The real second plank won the majority vote in 2012 and was appointed, There was NO way that his contract was to be renewed in view of his disastrous coach and team selection. Draad was right the public screamed murder and that sealed Meyer's fate.
That led to the appointment of the third plank as coach.
Prior to Erasmus we had three planks as coaches of the Springboks.
Its no use arguing about the issue - Meyer was useless - De Villiers were useless - and Coetzee was even worse, In any event the Stade Francais scenario proved how really poor a coach Meyer is,

There was a group of SARU members who wanted to retain White “
Do you really want me to tell you why this is bullshit or are you going to revisit your assertion yourself?
“ The real second plank won the majority vote in 2012 and was appointed, There was NO way that his contract was to be renewed in view of his disastrous coach and team selection. Draad was right the public screamed murder and that sealed Meyer's fate. “
There was no vote to appoint Meyer. It was decided that a coach was to be head hunted. The board decided on HM and they bullied the Bulls to get him. The Bulls fought the efforts to the last. You can wail all you want. There was no evidence of HM being forced out and his contract not being renewed. Nothing. The only concrete evidence available is that HM himself decided to resign. And he gave clear reasons why he did so. In his own voice during an interview. I believe that unless you can provide concrete evidence that he was lying in the interview.
Your only way out is to put all your evidence on the table. I’m not holding my breath though. This is real BS speak again. Headhunting meant that a number of individuals were allowed to make representations and the Board then decided on Meyer after a vote was in his favour, They never bullied the Bulls to release him. The Bulls on their constant stupidity supported his appointment.
However, even in his first year Meyer went off the rails - especially with squad selection and his constant running back to get retired players to come abck into the game. The great 2013 season he is credited with started off with the June tests against Italy , Samoa and Scotland, In the Super Rugby series the team did well against Australia, but in the away game the Springboks struggled to win. The two games against NZ resulted in bad losses by 14 points away and 11 points at home. The end of year your had one tough match against the N6- series winners Wales and the other two games were against Scotland (fourth on the 6-N log) and France (6th on the 6-N log), Too many weak teams played to really justify the praise-singing,
It is in fact in the 2014 tests that the bottom of the pile became apparent. After an easy first win against entirely based on the most brilliant game Le Roux ever played - the rails went off in the second test - largely because of a disastrous performances by Morne Steyn and Matfield, The other June test was a brilliant performance by the younger players playing in a test against Scotland.
That was followed by the RC. Both games against Argentina were touch and go. Jannie and Steekamp showed us at what speed going back in scrumming is possible in the away test particularly - Jannie was bad in the home test against Argentina as well. That was followed by a loss in the game against Australia which Morne managed on his own to lose - it was the last starting match of Morne under Meyer, a loss against the AB's away engineered by Matfield and glory of all glories, Meyers only win against the AB's, That was followed by two losses in the EOYT and the rails were really coming off.
In 2015 was a real disaster - lost all RC tests followed by a win against the Argentina "B" team and the horror of a loss against Japan in the WC. The fact is that in the other Round Robin games against minor tests the Springboks won. In the quarterfinals game, Wales at minute 74 was in the lead when Du Preez scored a try in a movement they admitted Meyer knew nothing about. The semi-final against the AB's were a disaster with no real game plan in evidence - other than repetitive junk.
That is Meyer's record in the period he was coach and there was very clear evidence that Meyer was not a coach's backside. He showed all the deficiencies he showed at Stade Francais, which led to him being effectively fired by the Club.
What's the point of discussing how Meyer got appointed or how he resigned (or did or did not get fired? )

I have not disputed that. In fact it is more or less what I said. Go check.
“ It was decided that a coach was to be head hunted. The board decided on HM and they bullied the Bulls to get him. “
I could not find anything that there was a vote to decide on him.
Where is your source/evidence?
This is one of the sources that I could quote about the Bulls’ reluctance to release HM.
Bulls upset with Meyer situation
2012-01-25 14:57
Johannesburg - The Blue Bulls are not happy to release director of rugby Heyneke Meyer from his four-year contract to go and coach the Springboks.
Meyer is set to be offered the job of South Africa coach, the Bulls said on Wednesday.
"It is the board's position that it would not be in the Blue Bulls' interest to release Meyer after many resources and commitments have been made to enable him to fulfil his mandate," the Bulls said in a statement.
The South African Rugby Union (SARU) said discussions had been held with Meyer but that no decision has yet been made.
"The Executive Council (EXCO) of SARU will be provided with a report back on those discussions at their meeting in Cape Town on Thursday. The EXCO is constitutionally responsible for the appointment of the Springbok coach. Their recommendation has to be ratified by a special general meeting of SARU," SARU said in the statement.
Another one for you:
According to Jurie Roux, SARU CEO, Meyer’s appointment was the culmination of a thorough process during which the best candidates were evaluated as part of a head hunting process before the Exco unanimously opted to make a formal offer to Meyer.
“The Blue Bulls wished to retain his services but his contract contains an exit clause which has been exercised; very few people can resist the call when your country says it needs you,” said Roux.
“The Springboks are the heartbeat of rugby in South Africa and it was paramount to get the best possible candidate to coach the team going forward. We believe we have done that.”
Where’s your evidence to the contrary?
BTW, you seem awfully quiet about the other vote that you were talking about and which I queried. You know, the one of Jake White’s contract in 2008, where you said:

The rest of your post is irrelevant BS.
Hell no, HM was a miracle man he almost won the 2013 RC with the dead head JJ Englebrecht at 13.
The JJ who ran away from his cover at the half....got knocked over and turned, resulting in an AB try. Then when JdV got us back in the game, that JJ gave Barrett a massage on the way to the try that took us out of the RC.
Hahaha....you're right Dave, JJ wanted nothing to do with it. But as luck would have it Barrett ran slap bang into JJ did I say bang...as in banggat.
Jean rushed up....Morne covered his space as Barrett ran laterally.... straight into JJ. Barrett smashed through the feeble JJ tackle, who was the only Bok to make contact.
But Dave far be it from me to spoil your day, blame JdV and Morne and give JJ a pass if that works for you.
Rassie has had at best a 50% win ratio ... this year he upped the anti ... but he was helped by playing a second rate All Blacks side in the RC ... as well as useless minions in the WC.
His Goats had one good performance this year and that was against an out of sorts English side in the WC final.
Suddenly he's a rugby genius.
How totally ridiculous.
There is nothing special about Rassie.
@CC, are you sure it wasn’t the useless Minions they were playing? Just asking.
Haaaahahahahahahaaaaa!!
Thank you ... I've correct my post.
JJ only managed to lay one hand on Barrett
These are the facts
One hand you say? No Dave, he got a good solid contact on him as you can see below, but went too high and got shrugged off. A good low tackle was called for. Three defensive failures, all culpable. Any center with a measure of self respect will be miffed at missing that one.
Dave
Morne was the tackler to stop Barrett as the main defender after De Villiers vanished from sight, but he made an extra feeble attempt and just slapped Barrett on the back in the process. All three guilty - but the idiots only blame Engelbrecht.
No t to worry about CC - his gripe with Erasmus is that according to him there are no players other than Whites who are test quality and should be in the Springbok team. Despite his forecasts the Springboks won the WC by a huge point difference in the final, What he wrote about the Springboks had nothing to di with rugby and everything to do with his political beliefs.
Dave
The ting that the Meyer admirers on site does not want to mention is the fact that Meyer failed totally at Stade Francais and the obvious similarities that is there between what happened with Meyer as Springbok coach and as club coach at Stade Francais,
Meyer in teams election -
* totally buggered up squad and team selection by his norm of selection of players on the basis :that he know what they were capable of in the past - while disregarding the present entirely, nullifying performance as a norm for player selection;
* by his game plan - if there was any - himself nullified backline play as part of attacking rugby and himself made remarks on the ball skills deficiency of the SA backline players.* was given a huge budget to find and contract top class players to boost Stade Francais and he was incapable to identify such players - both for the Springboks and later on for the club.
He in fact ended up selecting 31 players for the 2015 WC - NONE from the most successful Lions Super Rugby franchise with EIGHT players effectively been unplayable,
Mozart wrote a massive praise song about the 2013 Johannesburg test against the AB's before which Meyer made a statement that the Springboks will play a ball-in-hand game in that test. Even though the backline did look better playing a ball-in-hand game they lost the test. The fact is like so many of Meyer's endeavours the so-called ball-in-hand plan was never repeated afterwards, Meyer totally lacked the strength of will to decide on a game plan and persist with it until the Springboks perfected the implementation. However, the ball-in-hand approach in that test provided a showing that it is impossible to utilize or such a game plan - he was pathetic in that game and his defective decision-making and poor defense caused 3 of the opposition tries being scored and the match being lost. With Morne still as Springbok flyhalf such a playing style was not repeated. .
I m sorry - what we have under this thread borders on the totally ridiculous and absurd comparing Erasmus with Meyer and trying to prove that Meyer is a better coach than Erasmus.
HM was far closer to beating a great AB team at the WC.....than Eraser was against a poor AB team.
Case closed.
So Mozart
Now we are gone from the topic of backline attacks have disappeared and the new topic of the Meyer's performances, Am I wrong when stating that the usage of the backline vanished from site?
Factually there were no tries scored and all points penalty conversions so the ignoring of the backline completely and the rest of the team also marginally less so.Du Preez passed the ball 50 times, Bearing in mind that Pollard often fell back to field kicks or get balls from another player and not necessarily Du Preez only 15 of the balls went to the flyhalf The rest of the balls went back to the forwards, It was as expected a total mess and was so repetitive that the AB's had it covered easily.
Another lost match that may have been won if Matfield was not totally stupid in getting a penalty reversed.
