I'm going to add some experienced players for experience sake. So here goes a passable 31:
Willie, JP, Habana, Senatla, de Allende, Serfontein, Kriel, Vorster, Frans, Pollard, Lambie, Hougaard, Faf and Reinach.
Beast, Jannie, Kitshoff, Malherbe, Marcel v/d Merwe, Bismark, Strauss, Etzebeth, PSDT, Willemse, Lood, Jacques du Plessis, Vermeulen, Kolisi, Schalk, Arno Botha , Kriel.

Well I am certainly not going to live with Pienaar who has offered nothing but a pass and a boot. du Preez was as average in his last few outings for the Boks.
Louw and Alberts are no goes in my books....there are a host of loosies to choose from but I selected the ones most likely to get chosen except for Arno as he is under an injury cloud.
Don't get me wrong....that is not the 31 I would select...its just one I could live with

Arno Botha is unlikely to recover from his injury and available to play before the start of the WC and will thus not qualify for selection.
What would be interesting to see is who our two comedians on the site  think should be  in the squad.  They would not post anything because most members would not easily recovered from the fits of laughter they would suffer from as a result thereof.

Bullshit CC.....what part of Lood performances have you missed......he makes the RC team of the tournament and in your eyes he is not good enough for the Boks.....I think its time you actually started watching him properly.

Malherbe, Kolisi, Botha and du Plessis are all worthy test players

Disagree ...Lood is useless.

I've watched him and he's at best an average provincial player. Nothing special about him at all.

Your other selections I mentioned are also not test material.

Malherbe breaks down every second match ... so does Botha. Neither are test match options.

Kolisis is a quota selection. He doesn't even make the starting line up for the Stormers and you want the chump in your test side.

Jacques Du Plessis is also at best a solid Provincial player. You don't want anything mediocre coming near the national side. That's what he is. He doesn't have anything special about him. A dime a dozen

JP Pietersen ... waaaay past it. Why you'd even conside this man is beyond me.

Fat Fransie ... haaaahahahahahaaaa ... the less said about this fool the better.

Carbuncle sadly you have clearly not understood Frans' contributions and winning record. But I'm with you on the rest.

The SA press and fans are so thick that if Lomp calls himself 16 times and Etzebeth twice, they are delighted that Lomp was prominent and puzzled that Etzebeth was quiet. Talk about abysmally thick.

Kolisi is very inconsistent, but mostly awful. Malherbe is a belly flopper, who is great in a dominant scrum, but has no defence. Arno is not half the player he was. JP is too slow now. Jacque du Plessis is just a lang draad who is neither lock nor flank....to compare this guy to Danie Rossouw is an insult.

 Herr Goebbels
Stop your lies - nobody believes that story of yours in any event.  Now was it 16 or 15 in any event?

You were just another thick fool perv who completely missed Lomp's grab for glory at Etzebeth's expense. But are you confused. Let me help:

5+2+9= ?

Most people dont have to think about this. But I know it's hard for you. So take off those smelly socks and count off. When you have reached 10, switch to the dirty left hand and continue on the right.

See you can do it.

Moz the only person who comes across as profoundly thick is you if you think that line-out calls alone define a players contribution......did the lack of line out calls to Etzebeth somehow impact his lack of contribution with ball in hand or his clearing out of rucks or lack of big hits made......conversely what the hell did line out calls have to do with Lood gaining a very admirable 23m on the day.

Are you really this rugby ignorant, seriously?

Dave if you can't see Etze beth was demoted from our primary power player to somebody pushing behind Lomp, you need your eyes tested.

No player is ever demoted in general play just because he received less line out calls.....seriously man, is this the best you have on this?

I have watched Fat Fransie and can honestly say that the only time he ever impressed was in 2007.

Since then he's embarrassed us as a nation playing for the Barbarians and his so called contributions at super rugby level as well as the few test he's played have shown him up as nothing more than a one hit wonder.

We need to select players that are talented ... on form ... something special ... not the run of the mill types that flood every club.

That's what he is now.

As for "Lomp" ... I must be honest ... his weak chin and massif overbite irritates me something awful ... throw in his brainless playing style and I'm all for sending him to Robin Island ... permanently.

Nothing's going to change my mind on him.

A Bok just doesn't look like that.

I had a feeling Loods baby face had plenty to do with your call on him.

See past that silly face and watch him play the game.

You don't make the RC side of the tournament playing in the worst side of the tournament if you are a crap player.

5 - Lodewyk de Jager (South Africa): What a return to the Springboks. Big hits, running the show in the line-outs in the abs cense of Matfield, and scoring a try against the Pumas. Bubbling under: Brodie Retallick (New Zealand)

Hahahahaaaaa!!!

I now you're a fan.

Give me Willemse any day.

Like Stander, Willemse too was dismissed without a decent look.

Willemse should definitely have been part of the equation along with Lood. There is room for all of them.

As for CJ Stander - what a miss he is. The guy was on fire for Munster this year and is going to walk the Irish side as soon as he is eligible........useless Meyer if he had, had any sense would have given him a call ages ago.

Imagine being the national coach and being blind to the talents of a guy like CJ

Herr Goebbels was caught out lying about 16 "calls: of the ball to De Jager.  When it was pointed out him that there were effectively only 11 line out calls made and that of those only 5 went to De Jager - he changed his story about the line-out calls.  He stuck with his 16 calls (afterwards mysteriously reduced to 15) and then came up with a new story - De Jager made the calls in open field play.
That is the most ridiculous rubbish I have ever heard on this site - Herr Goebbels has been ridiculous in the past - but this beat anything he has produced thus far.   Apparently he fails to realise that forwards spread out when the ball is on the way back in mauls and the scrummie decide who to pass the balls to.   That has nothing to do with who is calling or not calling for any ball.  Any forward may take up a position shouts at the scrummie he is  available and nobody make "calls" like is made in line-outs - the scrummie decides whom to pass to.
This is nothing but a BS effort by Mozart to discredit De Jager and in doing so he reverts to lies and BS of the most ridiculous kind.
D ave summed it up correctly - the old creep is talking kak.
