We are going to have fun when Meyer picks his WC squad and that wou8ld really open up pages of discussions on this site.  The present indications are that he will select the following:-
Full Backs
Le Roux, Kirchner
Wings
Habana, Pietersen, Mvovo
Centers
De Villiers, De Allende, Kriel
Flyhalfs
Steyn, Pollard, Lambie
Scrummies
Du Preez, Pienaar
Loosies
Alberts, Vermeulen, Brussow, Louw, Burger
Locks
Matfield, Etzebeth, De Jager, Flip van der Merwe
Props
Du Plessis, Malherbe, Van der MerweMtawarira, Nyakane, Kitshoff
Hookers
Du Plessis, Strauss, Brits
So what have we have above:-
The Hospital Ward Cases
Pietersen, De Villiers, Du Preez, Vermeulen, Alberts, Kitshoff
The Hopeless Performance Cases
Kirchner, Pietersen, Steyn, Pienaar, Alberts, Matfield, Brits
The Ill-Prepared Cases with Little or no Recent Game Time
Kirchner, Pietersen, De Villiers, Du Preez, Vermeulen, Alberts, Kitshoff, Kirchner, Steyn, Alberts, Matfield and Brits
Problem is that in their last tests -
*   De Villiers showed nothing, was slowed down and was clearly not match-fit;*   Du Preez was very average and has not played real rugby since June 2014 and will obviously not be match-fit;*   Alberts has been hopeless in performance since 2012;*   Kirchner was poor in 2012 and has shown nothing subsequently;*   Pietersen (seriously pace-deficient) was hopelessly poor in all matches played this year. *   Steyn was a serious flop in his last three tests and hopeless in 2014 in the Perth test;*   Pienaar was pedestrian and a flop in the last test against Argentina*   Matfield has been reducing the value of our Tight 5 and consequently contributed in a major way to our losses since he came back from retirement; and*   Brits is way past his sell-by date and hopeless in performance when he came from the bench for the Springboks.
Because of a variety of factors, the above by a distance will be the worst-prepared WC squad since 1995 and the worst concoction of proven performance deficient players Meyer could potentially select.

Its going to be a pathetic squad.....one that wont get past the quarters.

You have the squad pretty much what useless Meyer will choose, although I suspect JP will definitely be in ahead of Mapoe, so make that change

Change made - Pietersen was so bad this year I forgot about him as even being a candidate.

Guys,       Unfortunately Meyer will never exclude Victor, Burger and Jean from his final selection.       Plus he also has to include local jocals as per the ANC mandate.       I also agree that Meyer will not get his team into the play-offs.
Just got back home and watched the Kings Park Test.....shocked by the Bok performance and the reffing.
At the WC the SA side will be hampered by Meyer's selections plus some very poor officials handling the games. The French refs are p..s poor and not world class in my eyes.
Time to hedge your bets once more.
