The most important one is related to his excellent performances in Super 15.   He stands out in all statistical data basis as the top performer at center in both the line break category and the defenders beaten category.     He is the second highest point scorer in the Foxsport competition - Folau is the only player ahead of him.

Thew second point is that he is a mixed race person - his father is White - his mother is Coloured.  That means that he is in fact a BEE player so the race besotted crowd cannot pick on him from that perspective.

Some detractors have been making negative remarks on his defense.  In general his defense is good - but there has been comments about him missing too many tackles.   In evaluating the missed tackle scenario it is clear that most of those are where in desperation when he tries to make cover tackles after players like Leyds and  De Jongh refrain from or make desperately  poor tackles.   In essence - even though not perfect, his defense is good enough.
