Francois Steyn was injured around minute 58 in the Reds game.  He went off the field and into the change room.  He took of his shirt and the camera zoomed in on him.


No muscle definition at all - he looked quite fat with a boepie starting to form - not what I would call a good built of a sportsman.


He came back from Japan claiming his weight was 106 kgs.  Looking at that TV shot on Saturday he looks decidedly heavier (probably 112kgs or so) - is he getting FAT again?

   Those who do not want to see - is worse than the  blind.   Fransie was grossly overweight last year at 118 kgs and it earned him the deserved name of "Fat Fransie".   
I know what was to be expected in writing the above - but then in a way it was a serious observation.   Some people are naturally fat and I am afraid Fransie is one of those.   
Fat Fransie was as slow as an ox-cart last year and that showed in all facets of the game.   He looked slimmer this year and seemed to be slightly speedier and fitter than he was last year.  However - it may all go back to the slow and unfit if he is not c areful.

This is a direct response to my time stamps that you so deeply loath. So irrespective of whether he is Fat Fransie or Thin Fransie, he outplayed Damian.

 Not a smear campaign at all - but rather a objective assessment and a hope that Steyn himself does not allow deterioration in his physical condition to what he was last year.
Anybody who even suggests Fransie outplayed De Allende last week needs a visit to an asylum.

As I already demonstrated (on this thread where you were too much of a gutless coward to respond) how selective you've been by excluding incidents that don't suit your argument . . . not to mention your unbelievably stupid and biased interpretations of what you did include.

The only thing that's funny about that Liarmike, is it took you 4 days to catch up with it, when the picture of Frans in the changing room was right on the match footage. Were you in the bathroom having a dump?

I looked at the game against last night and really saw that one before - but did not look carefully enough at it.  I did last night and felt that Steyn is on his way to where he was last year - which is not a good way to go in his case.  All I said  is he should take care - he is getting fatter again.

Rubbish, Frans did not look fat at all......he has never been one for the gym but he looked in good shape

Frans has been solid but failed to really set the world alight as he should have.......going off to France and Japan and being played in various positions throughout his career has never served his cause well.


Had he stayed in SA and concentrated on his best position at 12, he probably would have made more of an impression.


Great potential that has not really lived up to it and he is now heading towards 30....time to move on in terms of a Bok starter, but he would feature in my squad

He was stunted by Peter who had WP fever in 2008, and then settled with Jean quite incorrectly. Peter never liked Frans, but he was our best 12. Nobody in SA has come close to him. Jean should have been demoted to the bench from 2008 onwards.

Jean has his limitations. Not a creative player, he'll fail to pick up support. Jones rated his running lines 4/10 in 2007.

Dave is correct - Steyn never lived up to his potential and to say what you say about him is really hopeless because Steyn did not deliver enough to deserve the credit you accord to him.
If Fransie did  he would have been a great player.   However, when you look at what he achieved over the past 4 years he was a huge disappointment.   You may argue until you are red in the face - his performances were bog-ordinary and at times sub-par - sa d to say.

Jean runs great lines, that is his strength....he has never been one to step players......he runs great lines and angles and has a great eye for a gap. His distribution has never been an issue.


His biggest issue was playing outside one of the worst attacking 10's the Boks have ever had in useless Morne Steyn......a player totally devoid of any attacking flair or creativity.


If you want to blame a single player over the past 10 years for stunting the Boks, look no further than our useless pivot in Morne. We had a donkey playing in the most important position on the field.


Compare the crap he dished out over the years compared to what a real 10 in Pollard is offering right now.....chalk and cheese stuff

I can repost all of Morne's passes in the Aussie test of 2012 test and you can see how poor Jean was. No , you cannot blame Morné for Jean's shortcomings.

Morne is utterly useless. Had he not had a good boot on him, he would not have smelt a CC game.
