You have to admit they have pluck. Totally discredited last weekend, they might have folded. But no, with the announcement of the new team, supposedly the loyal Bok fans should now be on the defensive.
Hilariously Pervert who last week had Samoa by 6 is challenging the loyal fans to call for a Bok win.....as if with him it was ever thus.
HasBEEn-ou is rampant with the absence of Matfield intimating this is a body blow to the Bok loyalists.
And Omelette aka Fattex is warning Scotland that this new team will take them apart.
Largely absent so far is Carbuncle aka Clone who last week was hoping for a Bok loss, to punish who one wonders.
In truth the team is little changed. It has been pretty much like this all year. JP and Vermeulen are back, but they were back last week when the Dogs hated the team.
Du Preez starts in place of Pienaar, but that was obviously going to happen if du Preez was fit. And none of the Dogs were calling for him.....there was a lot of Reinaching and Faffing, nothing about du Preez. So that can't be the cause of their joy.
Pollard is still in instead of Lambie, hardly a positive for Carbuncle though....he still pines for the understated if not invisible Lambie at 10. Dave to his credit has stood with early adopters like yours truly and supported Pollard. Mike I think still pines after Swiel, he likes the cute ones.
So one is forced to conclude that all this happy happy joy joy comes from the misfortunes of Jean and Victor. We have Allende and Kriel and we have Lomp. But then we had the same three against NZ and Oz for most of those games.
One would hope by now the Boks recognize that Allende/Kriel are pretty hopeless defenders and get them some patterns that might help. And perhaps the forward coach can suggest to Lomp that he might occasionally call Etzebeth's number. Whether that will help is dubious.
Still Victor will rest until the QF which will help the hammie. And we will beat Scotland, although not without some anxious moments. By about 10 I'd say. And the Barking Dogs will applaud that enthusiastically, because after all it's a totally new team.

Lets take the tripe apart:-
"Du Preez starts in place of Pienaar, but that was obviously going to happen if du Preez was fit. And none of the Dogs were calling for him.....there was a lot of Reinaching and Faffing, nothing about du Preez. So that can't be the cause of their joy."
Most members expressed reservations about the absence from rugby of 14 months by Du Preez and his ability to get back into form. He did very well last week so people who were unsure about him are quite delighted by that.
One would hope by now the Boks recognize that Allende/Kriel are pretty hopeless defenders and get them some patterns that might help. And perhaps the forward coach can suggest to Lomp that he might occasionally call Etzebeth's number. Whether that will help is dubious.
First of all - are you not ashamed after the lies you spread about De Jager in the Aussie test as to the line-out calls have been exposed, You have a cheek to persist with that one to start off with.
Still Victor will rest until the QF which will help the hammie.
To be quite frank - De Jager was so much better as a lock than Matfield one can only hope Matfield has no further matches in the WC.

I know age is an issue with you old timer but in essence what you are actually saying when you read through your post is that there have been quite a few changes and more to the point, the side selected is one that has not played together before.
Fuck you are stupid.
But who gives a flying toss what an old fossil like you thinks....what counts is that for once we have a Bok side that looks a good one.
Unlike the crock of shit you advocate
Go Bokke and thank fuck for injuries

In essence Moffie....there is NO Jean and NO Matfield. Time to rejoice.
We have a fast creative 21 year old in place of Jean and a physical real 22 year old lock in place of Vic

Hmmm... Just thought I'd pop in to say that the level of discussion is quite low (mostly). A few posters like Mozart, Desert Fox and Pakie at least makes it worthwhile to have a read now and then. The poor sods like Saffex and StupidMaaik again makes it worthwhile to have a laugh now and then...
A large proportion of the questions on IQ tests rely on pattern recognition. So let's analyse a bit. In general I read a hell of a lot about Matfield and Jean, yet when you ana.lyse some of the stats, there are no definitive patterns... But let's jump to one player. In the forum where I normally post, I have ana.lysed his stats quite a bit. But I am going to add a few extra pointers.
Ruan Pienaar: (As starting scrumhalf)
vs Argentina - the is a weak argument, as there were two saves late in matches, which actually makes his figures look good - But if we take away the two saves, his record "would have been" a 50% win ratio
vs Japan - Another reasonably weak argument, but res ipsa loquitur
vs New Zealand - Zero wins from 8 starts as scrumhalf (0%)
vs Australia - 3 wins from 9 starts as scrumhalf (33%)
His overall record the past three years:
2013: Reasonably good except for the two losses against New Zealand
2014: 50% win ratio as starting scrumhalf
2015: 20% win ratio as starting scrumhalf
So... While with the other players there are no such a pronounced patterns, we see a large amount of complaining about them. Day after day - Hour after hour.
Yet we see very little complaining about the one player who's poor performance record is DIRECTLY linked to the Springbok failures of the recent past....
To get back the IQ issue... Seeing that pattern recognition is directly linked to IQ, it is through logical deduction that we can determine that the individual and average IQ of the majority of the posters on this board is EXACTLY the same as that of the Springbok coaching staff!
So every time you have something to say about the stupidity of the Springbok coaching staff, remember that it directly reflects your own stupidity... Forever barking up the wrong tree and forever failing to recognise the clearest pattern of all...
Footnote: As I understand that some of you struggle with reading and comprehension, I tried to keep the readability of this post at about the grade 9 level... I hope it helps!

Barnacle, talk about barking up the wrong tree??? You come here and give your evidence for how poor Pienaar is, without realizing that pretty much every poster here thinks he is useless! So I ask, why all the arguing when we basically all agree with you?

So, I got it right with the reading and comprehension skills, or lack thereof!
I said "...average IQ of the majority of the posters on this board is EXACTLY the same as that of the Springbok coaching staff!"
Which is hardly a compliment!
As it was understood by one of the less gifted.... "Let me guess you are another verkrampte twat who thinks Meyer has it right and the likes of Jean and Matfield are major losses"

Pienaar should never wear a Bok jersey again. I'd even give Paige a run ahead of him.
01 Oct 2015, 11:57#14
Barnacle, there is no point discussing Pienaar. Nobody really supports him. The threads that slag this or that player and that cause the most discussion are those where there are opposing views! It is hard to argue with someone when you share that persons view point!

Agreed Pakie and bluebok. The only non negatives about Pienaar I can recall on this site was after the WXV match where I and some others said he actually had a decent game according to his standards. I think Moz said Pienaar wasn't that bad against Japan, but that was because Mike argued that it was due to Pienaar's poor service that Bambie had a poor game. Pienaar just don't seem to be able to lift his game when playing for the Boks. He seems to do more than OK for his club, from the odd bits I hear from time to time, but he never really impressed me in a Bok jumper. I'm not too fond of Vermaak, but I'm sure he would have been a much better choice than Pienaar.

What I find hilarious is that there is no Morne, no Frans, no Alberts, and now no Victor. So KlevarMika turns her attention to Pollard! Now it's Pollard's tackling that is the problem, and he may have cost us that Aussie test. Damian was a hard done by little soul that took on tackles that no one else would have. Maybe he is referring to the instance where he turned his back to Kuridrani, looking for that tackle attempt nobody else would have thought to do! Hahaha haha!

Barnacle, welcome to the board. You will find the All Blacks supporters are a more intelligent bunch & they are also more modest
On Pienaar, I don't recall anyone raving about him in a positive way.

Fox at least Mike can reply to the right thread! LOL
Your comment may be relevant, but not to this thread!
01 Oct 2015, 13:16#21
Saff, the thought of Morne does worry me, but historically WC knockout games come down to a penalty kicking contest. I would feel more comfortable seeing Morne walking up to the kicking tee, than either Lambie or Pollard! The big conundrum is the rest of the game!
01 Oct 2015, 13:19#22
Hahaha, I have to laugh at myself! I just biatched about Fox replying on entirely the wrong topic, only to find myself also replying to that same wrong topic!
Standards....I double them!!!

Really? Then why is it that our best period of try scoring was with Morné? Name one successful try scoring backline that featured Lambie. Just one.

Have a look at Pietersen's one try on Saturday - who gave him the excellent pass putting him in the clear - doffies? Shirt memory I believe. How many tries has Lambie scored himself in tests over the past to years? How many did the clueless Morne score?

Really, what about the home test against Australia in 2013? His long pass sent JJ free out wide and we score a try. Or Wales 2013? Morné's long pass sends Habana free and we breakout and score a try. Or the away Argie test last year? Morné set up the game winning try. Or the Perth test last year, Morné set Willie free with numbers, a deft flat pass, and we score a try. There is more but that beats your argument with consummate ease.

Lambie scored his tries from 15 you soily spud.
One being a free run in Australia' s 22 as two defenders left him to the other, making a huge gaff. The other, Lambie catching a high ball right by the All Black try line and falling to dot down.

Just like DF's write-ups about Steyn in the Super 15 game of the Sharks against WP - absolute tripe. Morne makes an ordinary pass - nothing more - and he writes sentences about it.
If Morne does anything in attacking backline play it is purely by accident - nothing intentional at all.
01 Oct 2015, 15:49#32
Moz, what point are you trying to make here? I thought we played well against Aus! And nearly beat them away from home! Came down to a 50/50 TV ref call.
Also, Vermeulen is no small change, and would probably have made a huge impact. Add to that the fact that Du Preez is also a monumental improvement on Pienaar, and those 3 little changes make a major difference.

You are right Saffex, being able to send a long pass means nothing. What we need is a player who will die with the ball, or better yet, who passes short, because only when the defender can reach both players at once the attack can truly be realised. That's creative, a few goose steps to add to the spectacle.

I predict the moment this team loses, if it loses.....the snarling dogs will return to attack the players and the coach. Possible targets include the Beast, Jannie, Victor of course, Schalk, F du Preez, JP and Habana. The rest will be given a pass.
The sudden support for the team is simply a sense of discomfort having got Samoa completely wrong and wanting to be with a winner.
I personally think the team and the likely opponents suggest a Semi clash against NZ.

You have the audacity to name players that may be attacked because of inadequate performance in the event of a loss - while you have the same deficiency with a list that can be guaranteed you will attack, mostly without any reason whatsoever.

When it went wrong last year, they turned on Pollard and Hougaard in spite of the fact the Boks best showing was against Ireland. They went Lambie and Reinach. Then against Argentina, they booed Pollard off the field for Lambie. We must not underestimate the Lambie effect. When things go wrong fans demand change, with scant regard for what change may in reality bring. They will then turn on those they simply like least, not necessarily who is to blame... if anyone at all.
