Eddie Vedder told a great story about what happened after one of his gigs.

That specific song was slated by Kurt Cobain as betraying the grunge scene due to it being to commercial. Pearl Jam themselves didn't like the song much and hardly ever played it. Nevertheless it was a fan favorite and they performed it that night.

Eddie Vedder took a walk on the beach after the gig. He heard that some kids parked near the beach were playing Black and singing along and figured they'd probably been to the concert.
