Denny like I said we are fine with questions about it but for the most part we get arseholes like beendick and co.Obviously we dont include you with that less than august company .

And the Marsellaise is quite bloodthirsty as are many other anthems ,the throat slitting isnt a big deal to players unless they are sooks of course .The ABs have said its drawing in breath but I think thats just to placate old ladies and beendork and plum.

Sorry but I don't see anyone hammering the Haka. And go ahead, hammer Apartheid, you can count on my support 100%

Nah Denny I dont go for that sins of the fathers shit ,I know that the vast majority of Saffas are done with that shit .I was alluding as to how some like to put things up for "debate " just to have a go at their intended targets.

Crikey just had another look at the La Marseillaise ,just imagine what sort of gesture " ripping out of their mothers wombs " would look like !

"Denny like I said we are fine with questions about it..."

You must have missed my response so here let me repeat what I said.....

"Apart from one plausible response the rest showed a lack of respect."

Seems to me that some on here aren't comfortable with any questions regarding a sacred part of your culture.

Mate, I have no truck with you or the Haka, I have a lot of respect for you hence the reason I privately correspond with you, believe me when I say that if I didn't respect you then I wouldn't bother. Our friendship is worth more than a nothing argument so while this is going round and round but before it goes south may I suggest we stop right here. Nothing that you and I say on here is going to change the world. The forum will always be a place to discover the real in us, our honesty, integrity and values....who you can identify with and who you can't.....it's my pleasure having met you.

I'm off to the gym...CYA!

Cant be arsed reading all the replies to this but I will put forward my views on it.

I love watching the Haka but it holds no cultural meaning to ME, I enjoy it for what I see it as and that is laying down a challenge. Ban the bloody awful national anthens is a better idea

As to the opposing teams responce they can go into the sheds for all I care, the haka is not part of their culture and there is no law saying what the opposing team does during it. Personally I like the team (cant remember which team it was,Wales?) that advanced on the All Blacks until they were toe to toe brilliant stuff. Think Norm Hewitt was leading the Haka at the time. Sadly some Twat decided it was not acceptable and brought in farkin rules governing what was culturaly acceptable.

Like it or not, the haka is part of the All Black culture and it's here to stay.
I do agree with those posters complaining that opposing teams have to face it though. I think they should be allowed to respond to the haka any way they please as long as they stay on their side of the half way line. We actually prefer it when oppo teams disrespect the haka cos we give them an even bigger hiding.

Car mat you forgot this -  while David Campese pointedly ignored the haka before Australia beat New Zealand in the 1991 World Cup semifinals.

Kbbs must all understadn the rugby world either dislikes the haka or like me they love the haka as it is very funny. Hands off the hahahahaka!

Beeno offering full support to the kiwis! Lets have more of bent Read looking so Hilarious or a P J Perenara! Oh my aching sides !

Folks we must all be generous to the kbbs and allow them their finest cultural moment.

We all love the kbbs and don't want them upset at all about this matter!!!! !

Yeah dingus I remember when the Wallabies with Camp-pie purposely dissed the Haka at Dunners and got a record flogging .

It still makes poor Mr Eales wake up in a cold sweat ,so much so that he had to pay penance in NZ to exorcise his sins.

A question to our Kiwi friends, don't you think that the throat slitting bit was way over the top and let me remind you that kids, young people, watch rugby?

A quick and cheap solution: kids, young people skip the pre match show. They must watch rugby games not the decorum around it.

Easy way to protect kids and young people by avoiding them to be influenced.

Now when it comes to rugby, kids or young people must be prevented from watching SA games. They will see worse than the haka and this time, during a rugby game.

Kids and young people must not watch the haka and SA rugby games.

Please do quote exactly what I said.

Also, are you going to try to make a counter argument to what I actually said or? Lol WD, I used to think you behaved like an old lady but now I think you behave more like a spineless brat.

My mistake..'welcome to country'. They are opposites WTC and the Haka. Perhaps things could be made more PC if the Haka had some welcoming gestures.....embracing the invading tribe as it were. And perhaps WTC could be made a bit more lively if the old coots who do the welcoming stuck out their tongues and did a few throat slitting gestures. Speaking as a neutral, as things currently stand, the whole thing is a bit of a bore.

My Missus does welcome to country on her ancestral land ,its just an aknowledgement of those who are the traditional owners.

The supposed arguments against the Haka by know nothings like plum bore the fuck outta me .His idea of a reasoned argument is to just nod our heads in agreement at whatever shit he opines ,its why I barely read the first few lines of his crap.

Plum it has fuck all to do with you so kindly fuck off theres a good boy.

Ah...Denny but you see, I "may as well have".

Isn't that just the soundest of reasoning.

Still, neither of them have answered the actual question I posed. Which is totally valid.

Interesting huh.

In conclusion...Let us preach to you about our wonderful tradition of respect and courage. Any other discussion of it will be met with insults, lies and accusations.

Oh the irony.

Cloudy is quite right about plum, and hes not fooling anyone when he  praises the odd Kiwi player once in a blue moon to try and deflect from his envy and hatred of the ABs and anything Kiwi in general.

Just an oily wee oick far as Im concerned.

As for the Haka still has fuck all to do with plum, and us Kiwis are never going to agree with the garbage he trots out as regards us or our rugby .

Ah, so once you get through all the bs about how much the haka "means to you", you don't actually have any argument as to why it should be imposed on the rest of the world. Zip. Nada. Zilch.

Funny how you don't have either the courage or the integrity to answer a straight forward question about something you claim shows your courage and integrity. Quite the opposite actually.

Based on your behaviour, i'm not sure if either of you deserve to be associated with the haka.

hahaha is your manner haka befitting?

Seems us Saffas might not understand the haka. That's still a lot better than hypocritically hiding behind it and pretending to be something we're not.

Shall i try again. One simple question.

Do you not think that the rest of the world deserves a say in whether or not we are forced to watch your haka before every test?

Some help with your answer: What means the world to you might mean ZERO to the other 7 billion people on the planet. And remember, we don't actually get the haka anyway...as WD so wonderfully put it.

...plump ,..NZ rugby teams have been doing the haka for well over 100 years.. it;s a tradition and part of our cultural heritage...you do understand the concept of traditions i assume... bad luck if you don't like it is all i can say.... should SA give up their tradition of eating braai because a few vegans are offended... that would be a mis steak....

This is another thread that's gone skew...starts out with the Haka and ends with Chief Shitting Bull and the Stompies...hilarious...reminds me of SA parliament debates...that start out with a debateable issue and are eventually snuffed out by meaningless quarrelsome drivel...it's the funny side here which we all enjoy...the Haka is simply great and must continue...if it intimidates the opposition so be it...any side that's so easily intimidated certainly is not fit to play this game.

I think the Haka creates healthy response and aggression in opposition and challenge...it's part of All Black tradition and must never be done away with.

Have zero issues with the Haka.

Don't know a great deal about it aside from it looking a lot more showbiz as time's gone on.

It always ads to the show. Not often in a bad way. That's not the point though.

It's just strange ground when a country has a special privilege in any sport.

The privilege being a right of compulsion prior to the match, as opposed to the the actual haka itself.

One has to get past it as a tradition and also try to put those personal feelings for and against it aside if you want to actually discuss whether or not it should be allowed.

That just doesn't seem possible though.

All things being equal, the momentum in a situation generally sits with the controller, not the controlled.
