No need to play the youngsters from the bench as Cardinelli suggests. A backline can be shaped that incorporates their offensive firepower.

That improves defence and attack. I'm always amazed by fans ability to forget Willie. While Kriel ran a lovely line and timed his offload to Willie with delicacy....that line of Willie's was every bit as good. And le Roux does this kind of thing in virtually every game.

Based on his latest outburst - his team would be the following:-

What is amazing is that if that team takes the field in the quarterfinal of the WC anyone could imagine that they will have a 5% winning chance.   There are ample reasons for the latter statement - the main one being that at least 6 of the players are not selected on the basis of present performance - but solely on their reputation.    Some of those six players have a spotty and in some cases an atrocious performance record for the last 18 months at least  and have shown zero to justify their reputation over the last year.  Those includes Pietersen, Steyn, Du Preez, Alberts, Louw and Matfield - the atrocious performance players being highlighted

The emphasis on experienced veterans is why no team ever in the past nearly 30 years won the WC twice in succession.  Experience without performance made sure of that one.  

 What different backline you suggested?  O yes - you wanted De Allende moved to the wing to accommodate De Villiers and the atrocious-performing Francois Steyn.  That was the only difference I believe.  In your subsequent comment you did motivate for Fransie to be in the team and all I did was to move De Villiers to 13 to ensure Fransie is accommodated in accordance with your expressed wishes.  I did not take into account your suggestions yesterday - because it went counter to your constant previous ramblings on this site.   It was specifically clear that your recent hate campaign against De Allende was purely based on the Fransie issue - so why deny that one?
