The following is the team as selected:-

15. Warrick Gelant, 14. Kanyo Ngcukana, 13. JT Jackson, 12. Daniel du Plessis, 11. Leolin Zas, 10. Ernst Stapelberg, 9. Ivan van Zyl, 8. Hanro Liebenberg, 7. Dan du Preez, 6. CJ Velleman, 5. RG Snyman, 4. Abongile Nonkontwana, 3. Ruan Kramer, 2. Joseph Dweba, 1. Ox Nche

Replacements :

16. Mzamo Majola, 17. Jan van der Merwe, 18. Frans van Wyk, 19. Jason Jenkins, 20. Jean-Luc du Preez, 21. Marco Janse van Vuuren, 22. Brandon Thomson, 23. Grant Hermanus

The above team looks somewhat sick - since there are a number of talented players missing and all those are  White players.  With that team I would say we will never reach the semi's of the WC and that would be a tragedy. .

Cannot believe Nonkontwana is at lock......the guy is about 1.93m and clearly a loosie......bloody affirmative selection if ever there was.

EW Viljoen should be at 15, with Gelant on the wing.

Nche at 1 is another AA selection.......at least we have Thomas du Toit to come in at 1

I watched the game - but unfortunately did not get the final score - because a thunderstorm resulted in the picture being frozen in the end when the scoring of a try was possible.
There was a very serious problem in evidence.  Other than the guy  Snyman at lock the Under 20's Tight 5 was pathetic.  In scrumming they were in full retreat in every scrum. They cannot possibly consider the props for selection in the EC tournament.
The Under 20 Centers were top class and both Du Plessis and Jackson were top class.  The best try of the game stemmed from a break by Jackson and a pass back to Du Plessis, with the latter scoring under the post.  Both are promising players for the future.
Hanro Liebenberg was the captain and he put in a very good show tonight.

Yeah that tightfive was a joke other than Snyman and Dweba at 2.

The best props are Thomas du Toit at 1 and Frans v/Wyk at 3

Jason Jenkins is a must as the other locks

The loosies selected are spot on as are the centres. I'd like to see centre Jurie Linde added to the mix.

Where is your star player Duan v/d Merwe on the wing?

EW Viljoen should be at 15, with Gelant moving to wing.

This side would be very good:

15. EW Viljoen 14. Gelant 13. Jackson 12. du Plessis 11. v/d Merwe 10. Not sure 9. Philips 1. du Toit 2. Dweba 3. v/Wyk 4. Jenkins 5. Snyman 6. Vermeulen 7. du Preez 8. Liebenberg

with the likes of Kramer, Le Roux Roets, du Preez, Bothma, Scrhamm, Linde on the bench

If you read the match report on the game  it is quiet about the pathetic performance in scrums and in line outs.   The Juniors lived off scraps and the fact that they won the game is entirely due to their backline.
Duhan van der Merwe is still injured - but likely to be back for the WC.
I think you are more or less spot-on with your suggestions.   However, we will have to wait and see what crops up.
The outstanding players were definitely the two centers - so we have still some hope if they could impr ove the Tight 5.

The tightfive I selected would be very good......plenty of grunt there

1. du Toit 130kg 2. Dweba 105kg 3. v/Wyk 125kg 4. Jenkins 125kg 5. Snyman 118kg 6. Vermeulen 104kg 7. du Preez 113kg 8. Liebenberg 110kg

That is bigger than the current Bok pack.....Beenkop would be impressed......930kg pack

We know how good du Toit, Snyman and the loosetrio are.

Dweba impressed me in last years JW.

Jenkins is a mountain of a lad with good skills having played provincial schools cricket as an allrounder.....he had to choose between rugby and cricket.

v/Wyk has been playing in the WP Vodacom Cup side, which means he must be pretty useful
