I asked you three questions on Steyn and you answered none of them. They go to the core of Steyn's failures at center. You come up with the following:-
"And then the cherry on the cake is his long range kicking....drops and penalties"/
How many of those were there? Is kicking out of hand NOT IMPORTANT? Steyn's kicks out of hand was total BS and inaccurate, The fact is that was a failure as a center when playing NZ o for that matter in any other position.
Answer the questions please:-
* If Frans Steyn was the Springbok great as claimed by you - why was he more often used as a bench player than he was a starter?
* Why did Steyn never score a try against a team ranked above the Springboks and why was virtually all his tries scored against teams 8 and below and why was that fact ignored by you?
* Why was Steyn - other than by White and for a few games by Meyer - virtually never selected as a starting center and why was he mostly a bench player throughout his career?
* Why do you praise White endlessly and why do you malign Erasmus from the day of his appointment - since both won the WC?
The first one on Steyn was clear. Steyn was a disaster for the Sharks in the years he played Super Rugby, Meyer used him as center in 2012 and his kicking game was what one would call BS, He similarly was a disaster for Montpellier, For instance I saw he Heineken Cup match this past weekend between Montpellier and Toulouse. For some reason - probably due to injury - Steyn was played at center and he was the main reason for the Montpellier loss. That is just an example of why he was not really good enough to claim constant Springbok selection. It happened through his career - for every good thing he did there was a string of negatives, You never wanted to see it - the actual coaches did.
If you can answer and explain objectively that my assessments and questions were wrong - w hy not point out where I went wrong.
