Seb you need a holiday mate .Trout fishing in NZ is the go ,I lived by the mighty Tongarriro as a lad and learned to fish first in lake Taupo with lures then the river and streams around Turangi [ my Grand Dad taught me when he heard of my "Fishing " exploits with a sharpened pitchfork ! Not very sporting at all ] Even my hometown by lake Maraetai has pretty good fishing [ last year for our family reunion we had about a 100 or so trout caught and smoked over a few weeks preceding it ,all legal all within bag limits and damn good fun !
