@mozter,
"Sasu you have been touting JJ all year . So let me respond. There has
never been a question that he is quick and dangerous in space. The
questions have been about his ability to contribute when the game is
tight and his defence."
i wouldnt say i have been touting jj all year, i have criticised parts of his game plenty of times before.
but what i do a lot is defend some what is IMO very biased comments about jjs game.
the blues vs bulls game springs to mind where u would put all the blame on jj for rangers try where he finished by maori sidestepping krichner, when morne and that rush defense was to blame.
"He decided to take on the A B defence on his own 22 with a kick out for
the half available he runs away from support is easily tackled and
turned."
u dont really blame that in jj do u??? o_O
morne the designated flyhalf who is known only as a one kick pony passed the ball to JDV who is the most exeprinced player in the team and he passes the ball to jj.
morne and JDV were both players who should have known better and for them to shuffle the ball on to jj was sending the message to run it.
like u i agree they should have kicked it, but the balme lies with JDV and morne, not jj who did what what JDV expected of him.
"Then on the Barrett try jean did rush up for a forced tackle, maybe he
shouldn't have.....but Barrett escaped by stepping to his right..."
and thats the whole ball game with that argument right there.
if
anyone breaks the line by rushing out and trying to snuff the ball,
then u better make the tackle thats simple school boy rugby.
JDV
rushed out, got pwned by barret and from then on in the Bok defensive
line was behind the 8 ball while blindfolded with an arm tied behind
their back.
as the rest of the team now have to try and stop the ball
carrier as well as being aware of the attacking line and where theyre
positioned.
the blame for barrets try rests on JDV shoulders 100% IMO.
rushing up has been a part of JDVs game for ages, its why hes got that reputation as an interceptor too.
"He also missed touch from in goal when the Boks were badly out of shape....another potentially fatal mental mistake."
would like to know when this happened, so if u dont mind telling me what time ion the game to look out for, i will give it another look.
"I can see how as an AB supporter you are a fan"
each to their own i guess, but im a fan of any player who IMO is great or has the potential to be great.
i think a lot of ur criticism of jj is unwarranted, not all of it, but alot of it.
BTW ine one of mikeys post he directed at u, he said,,,
"Anybody - bar Du Toit whom you call disparagingly Stephanie"
this had me LMFAO big time, :oD
i rate both lady elizabeth and stephanie as rugby players very highly, but those nancy boy nicknames are going to stick like glue, :o)
