During the break between test rugby and the start of the Super series this site has for years been the time when personal attacks take precedence over anything else.  As the off season progresses, the situation normally gets worse and worse.
The longer serving members are constantly at each other throats on personal issues not relating to rugby at all.   It is normal during the festive season especially because either members are bored or they try and hide away their real deficiencies in rugby evaluations behind a constant stream of attacks on those members who pointed out different perceptions during the tournaments of the year.
This year the problem is getting an earlier start because there is no test rugby during November and the break in SH rugby is longer than normal.  The problem is that there are effectively three camps on this site, namely -
*   the members whose rugby views has been cemented in the past and see nothing positive in the present scenario in SA led buy Mozart and his supporters are basically Denny and the despicable Ceradunce;
*   the members whose views are more aimed at the future of rugby in SA - with Dave as a leading member and some others being CC, Rooinek and myself;
*   the very decent NZ members who patiently endure the garbled thinking of Beeno on rugby issues and make fun of the issues raised by him.
The other decent gentleman like Seb and oimatey make fun of the issues raised during the past year and continue to being the real gentleman of the site.
It is always comforting to know we have the present scenario as it shows that the site is alive and well and will start next year in the same vein as a lively discussion program.

 When you have no rugby issues to discuss Tokkie, which is the normal situation, could I suggest silence....pure, peaceful, blessed silence.

 Are you talking of yourself here since the rugby issues raised by you are normally linked to likes and dislikes of players - not on their performances.   Pure peaceful blessed silence on your part is the real answer.

Yeah...the aftermath of the world cup is the lull after the storm but another sort of storm brews out of frustration...my late French gran used to say...that Satan finds some mischief for idle hands to do...there might be some twisted humour in this but nevertheless it has some truth in it

I think, Wardad...I must go fishing before I get accused of starting a fire...lolz

Fishing for trout has been poor because of lack of rain...our rivers and dams are extremely low...and are facing "water shedding" in KZN.

I fished the upper Mooi River in the Kamberg (Middle Drakensberg) area...got a few plucks at the fly but could not connect and blanked but the river looks sad.

Nothing doing until the rains come.
