Lost in the Allende/ Kriel hype is last year's flavour of the day Stepfontein. Once described by Dave as destined for much greater things than Jean....Step is no longer in nybody's team.
I wonder can the Steppie groupies on here see the difference with a kid like Kriel. Some made excuses for Step because he was at 13. Hell Kriel has played no 13 this year, steps into test 13 and at least on attack is to the manor born.
Sadly Step was another myth of the hype machine.

Serfontein has already proven his test credentials......simple reason Serf did not make the same impression Kriel has or JJ did at 13......was speed......even you know that.
You need pace at 13, Serfontein is not quick enough for 13 much like Jean never was.
You get so many players wrong, just like you have Serfontein.....hell we have read enough anti de Allende from you......take it you got that one right as well???
Not to mention Lood and Coetzee

Serf is not strong enough for 12, not skilled enough for 14. He is lost between the two. JJ had speed, no skills, no strength and no aptitude for centre play. Kriel is the complete package. with better support on his inside he won't be left a sitting duck again. Dave, you have no understanding of what it takes to be a centre. Zip, bo diddly in fact. About the only call you got right was Adi.

Serfontein is probably our best defensive inside centre in SA.
However for the most part he has been a crash ball on attack.
He holds the ball with one arm which makes it hard to pass - a tell tale sign of single vision blinkers.

Serf is stronger than Damian in punching it up, but he is not without hos weaknesses. He cannot handle head on pressure either, having been run over quite a few times. But at 13 he has been very sound on defence.

Yes. Care to refute that? Ironic that it was Damian that Serf replaced at 13 last year when he steadied our defence. But at 12? He got run over a few times. One of which was by a Welshman in our 22 for a crucial game changing try. Hasn't done much for the Bulls either.

One has to admire rank stupidity by the two I describe correctly as our resident Village Idiots. Elsewhere they carry on about the Steyn's as if they are God's gifts to SA Rugby. They are delusional. Now they come up with another player far better than Fransie in the same vein. Reason Serfontein is another threat against their pipedreams of Francois Steyn being a Springbok calibre center.
Better to give up trying to reason with them on the issue. In future I am not going to react to their craziness in their preferred center and flyhalf selections. I willhave a one-word res ponse in each case : BS

Morne is the most successful and highly decorated 10 in South African rugby history. Just to let you know exactly what you are arguing against, and why it might be silly to continue on in that manner.

Erm, Mike Morne does have an impressive list of achievements. I'm all for having a look at him again, as backup for Pollard. It seems Lambie is not quite there yet.

Draad
My problem is that Morne in both his latest test when coming from the bench made near critical foul-ups - worse than Lambie ever made. Those occurred in both tests against Argentina last year. In the Pretoria a kick of his was charged down and a try was prevented only by quick action by De Allende.
In the away test he kicked a ball directly into touch placing the Springboks under massive pressure in the last few minutes of the game. A drop kick or penalty would have lost the game for the Springboks. There was no reason for the flop - it was just poor decision-making and execution.
That was followed by a Morne Steyn flop in Perth that did cost us the game in Perth. Neither Mozart nor Disaster accepted that as reason for the loss of the game.
Morne Steyn has a history of going to pieces in major tests - either his goal kicking went pear-shaped or his decision-making and execution became poor. He is as Hansen said before the test last year utterly predictable - the opposition knows exactly what is coming and take measures accordingly. That basically stemmed from the fact Morne never attacks the gain line - so defenders can ignore him and concentrate their defensive measures on other players.
Under the circumstances I strongly feel that he has had his opportunities to play for the Springboks and his inclusion in the current Springbok team will be counter-productive and to put it frankly retrogressive insofar as the apparent style of play used in the last two tests is concerned. Morne would never get the backline going because he is too slow in decision-making.

Ceradunce
Whoever that new coach is - he is faced by serious handicap. He will end up with Matfield as attack coach and any backline attacking play will go out of the window. Moonlighting in the backline - the most memorable thing of Matfield playing rugby - does not mean that he can coach anybody attacking rugby.
But then the post is kept open in case Meyer needs to be accommodated. His only saving grace of retaining his present job would be if the Springboks win the WC and of that the chances is about 5%.
Just one question - have you ever seen Odendaal playing? You and your fellow-idiots are discussing games you never saw and even games that never took place - hence my question..

Serfontein is better than Odendaal so the coach will have no issue at all......difference being the obvious....Serfontein is a test player, highly regarded by Meyer, while Odendaal has yet to smell a Bok training squad.....rate them both highly but Serfontein is better.

Rhe problem isn't Victor - who Eddie Jones rated highly for his understanding of backplay. The problem is that the Bulls have been trying to attack without centres. Like I said, the centres are the power of your attack. You can have a talented centre pair and average halfbacks and still succeed on attack, never the other way around. Low and behold, the Bulls have good talent at halfback and no centres and problems arise. As soon as Olivier left they struggled. But continue blaming Victor if it suits you, no doubt that's the ceiling of your intellect. Maybe blame Morne as well, you blame him for things that transpire when he isn't on the field, why not then for things on a different team?

If Meyer rated Serf, then why did he drop him from 12 and subsequently from 13? Serf let him down. Now he is trying another disaster.

Matfield rated high "for his understanding of backplay" - sure he is rated high by some for being useless as a lock and moonlighting in the backline. Same story heard before - where did Eddie Jones ever say that? Is this another of your hallucinations?
The sole expert in blaming players are indeed Disaster - he blamed players for being inadequate in a match that never took place. I blamed Morne for bugger-ups he made before he left the field of play. get that into your thick skull - Village Idiot.

Dave
It is no use arguing with the resident Village Idiots. They say that when a player is injured he is dropped from the side. Really daft - but what else can one expect from them?
However, their hate campaign against De Allende and Serfontein is relentless and all that because of poor Fransie - whose rugby performances are not admired by most observers. Is it not because his performances have at best been pedestrian over the past two years?

Who is our current 13? Not Serf. Who isn't even being considered anywhere near 12? Serf. So that is something of a demotion. From a starter to jot even being included in the squad. You are right Michael, it's no use talking to a village idiot. The only words that should rightfully be coming out of your and Dave's mouth is "fee fi fo fum".

Would he? I'm not so certain of that. Meyer expressed interest in Frans foremost, then Damian. Serf has fallen out of contention and hasn't done anything remotely noteworthy for the Bulls. Not much of a star player.

Disaster
Do you ever speak the truth? Meyer wanted to play De Allende in the June 2014 series against the Welsh the Welsh and said so openly. Fransie only came into the picture when it was clear that both De Villiers and De Allende was not available because of injury. He only then turned to Fransie - who was putrid in Super 15 and just as bad in the World 15 game.
Fransie threw his toys out of the cot and left the Springbok team the day before the team announcement. There was no doubt a reason for that - he was not to play on the succeeding Saturday against Wales.
This year Meyer invited Fransie to the training camp - and kept him in the squad of 49 players -but never indicated that he was interested to play him ahead of De Allende. He also had Serfontein in the squad - but the latter was plagued by injury problems throughout Super 15 and played less games than expected.
Question - where did you get the idea from that Meyer expressed interest in Fransie foremost? Meyer is not the brightest spark around - but he is also not stupid. he can see what De Allende produced and what Fransie produced in Super 15 this year and there was no doubt and he himself said so repeatedly - that the 12 jersey was de Allende's - even if fat and useless Fransie was available.
