This remainder of this round will be the determining factor as to who would make the grade and go through to the quarters in the WC, My forecast is as follows:-
Pool A
A win by Australia today will mean England will be out and the quarterfinal teams will be Australia and Wales
Pool B
Despite the fiasco against Japan - a SA win against Scotland will result in South Africa and Scotland going through to the quarters.
Pool C
New Zealand and Argentina
Pool D
Ireland and France
Semi-Finals
It looks like the quarterfinals will be between the following teams:-
Australia vs ScotlandSouth Africa vs WalesNew Zealand vs Ireland/France
Argentina vs Ireland/France

I think you are spot on here Mike...I am relieved to see a better SA side and I take more hope from that...the side is not perfect but always remember that when it comes down to the crunch in WC rugby the Boks will lift their game to the highest levels...Scotland will not lie down either but I think we will have the edge.
The only other possibility of an upset could be Tonga against Argentina but this is a very long shot....Argies are playing at a very much higher level now.

Agree, Mike. Actually it's a no-brainer.
Quarters finals will look something like this.
Australia vs Scotland
South Africa vs Wales
New Zealand vs France
Ireland vs Argentina
Australia should beat Scotland and find themselves in the Semis against Wales.
New Zealand will slaughter France and face Ireland in the other semi.
The Final will be between New Zealand and Ireland with the All Blacks walking away with all the spoils.
Meyer will return home with the Goats and hopefully be dismissed on the spot.
I just hope those at the helm don't mess with the Lions' coaching team.
They should approach Eddie Jones. I have always admired him and think he'll do well as Goats coach.
May even return them to Bok status.

I do not altogether agree with you about what is going to happen. The AB's has struggled against France in the WC in the past and they have not really been convincing in the games they played in thus far. I somehow have misgivings about that one - like the Springboks they have their own geriatrics problem they have to contend with.
I was also perturbed by the way the Welsh struggled against Fiji - their scrumming was in fact poor. They better hope Australia beat England today - which will ensure their way is open to the semis.
Whether with those forwards the Welsh can beat the Springboks remains to be seen. That is if Meyer is stupid and play Matfield in that game. The combination of him and Jannie will be deadly for our hopes of winning that game.
So lets wait and see what happens today and tomorrow - if the Aussies beat England - which I hope they do - the situation as to most Pools will be clarified.
