Montpellier head coach Jake White has admitted he is interested in becoming England boss after the World Cup, but doesn't think the RFU would select him.

The former South Africa boss, who led the Boks to Rugby World Cup glory in 2007, has since been coach at the Brumbies, Sharks and Montpellier.

And when asked by the Daily Mail if he would be interested, he said: "England have everything going for them in terms of resources, players and history.

"If they were genuinely interested and they approached me, of course I would be interested. It's one of the biggest jobs in world sport and you'd be crazy not to consider it."

White though seems to have a sour taste from past attempts to take on a role with England.

"When I was with the Boks, I was approached to put my name in for Rob Andrew's job," he said. "Then they contacted me before appointing Martin Johnson and Stuart Lancaster.

"All three times, they've gone for English people. Generally it's used as a means to make the other candidates look like they have a bit of credence.

"The last three World Cups must send a message: if you go for a coach who's never coached international rugby, it's going to be 'same old, same old'.

"They've tried it with Andy Robinson, Martin Johnson and Stuart Lancaster. They have one of the biggest budgets in the world but their coaches only have a few years' experience."

Jake has made it clear from 2012, he wants to coach at test level and there can be no doubt that he is a perfect fit for England. So much so that I hope he doesn't get the job!

Yopu summed it up perfectly - the guy knows zero about backline play and is not really a championship coach in Montpellier.  I hope he gets the England Job though - he will add further disasters to England's already pityful state of affairs.  .

Becs, it's thinking like that which will keep England a mediocre sporting nation. The English lack leaders and technical thinkers, they cannot function by themselves in that capacity. They have a tendency to over complicate simple tasks and miss communicate with each other and then point fingers when it all goes wrong. Jake is the perfect remedy to that.

There is no job at present, Mike...nor may there be one anytime soon. I for one hope there is not. There is no " pitiful " state of affairs. One of the three teams in our Pool had to bow out pre Quarters, why not us ? Australia had twice as many Caps as we did, similar to Wales the previous week, yet we are expected to be in an amazing amount of shock at events ?
Once we had lost to Wales, this match was not going to be won, simple as that. I was certainly at peace with the whole thing and, as you might well remember, have said all along that this was a RWC too soon for this entire set up. To split it now would be a disaster.
The worst thing, to my mind, has been the sheer weight of expectation that no real Rugby supporter has held. That was instigated by the press and fair weather fans who, as soon as the first game had ended, jumped on their backs and have not ceased. It has been brutal, unnecessary and they have undermined Lancaster, and Ribshaw, at every turn. I have been, frankly, ashamed.
I agree that the game against Wales ours to lose and so we did, a mistake which will haunt them all forever.
If they do remove Lancaster, and I reiterate, they should not, there is only one man who should take over....Rob Baxter.

It's Jake or Lancaster, but Stuart never really got what England was about. He is a highly astute rugby mind, and a good coach, no doubt about that. But you need someone that can come in and take England back to its roots. Jake is a firm believer of respecting the traditions and culture of a team and he knows how to quickly fix problems. Just a good all round coach. But as I say, I hope he doesn't get it. That way England will continue to sabotage itself.

Becs, what do you make of the bath coach Mike Ford? Someone's who's been England's defence coach before with a good amount of success plus has Bath playing some lovely rugby. Also, a lot of england best players are playing for bath at the moment so are familiar with him.

Why - Dim Fox - was the Sharks forced to tell him to resign or be fired as their coach?Because he was destroying the team to the extent that the players refused to sign new contracts and the supporters stayed away from the Sharks games.
Sharks in essence did massive damage to the team s he was the source of serious denting of the team spirit because of favouritism showed to some players and  creating enmity by camps in the squad.  The damage Jake did could not been repaired in one season and will take more time to mend the atrocious state he left the team in.
He had to call in Eddie Jones as consultant to try and get the Springbok backline to operate.  He did win the WC in 2007 - but is not an easy baby to deal with and England Rugby will get clarity on the issue from his partner in crime John Smit.   Based on his doings at the Sharks he is going to find it hard  to find support.  He is not likely to get a favourable report from the Sharks.

Campese has been slagging him off today, I hear. Saying he never Coaches anyone and has destroyed the Sharks ! Makes a nice change for dear Campo to bitch about someone other than England !
Mike Ford ? Not massively well received as Defence Coach and Bath actually flatter to deceive much of the time. He has also done us no favours by bleating about the treatment of his son during the WC. He made a lot of trouble with his interviews about how " distraught " poor little George was being " dropped " for Farrell when all that had happened was that he had been popped down to the bench. We had no such whinging from Farrell when he was in the reverse position. If George had not played so poorly, he, and we, would not have been in that position in the first place. His performance for us in Ireland in the 6 Nations was as dismal as that of his in France in the warm up's. So he, and his Dad, need to grow up and grow up fast.
We need to simply bring in some of the younger Squad players that were about to be assimilated post WC anyway. At least with Lancaster, we have no Club bias. With Fird, I think we would.

The Sharks merely exposed how soft they are. A team of players who routinely get VIP treatment by the media. Their sense of self-importance was violated by Jake's ethics and demand for hard work and discipline. The sharks were upset they had to get out of bed in the mornings as they are accustomed to being coddled. Maybe Jake refused to fetch their slippers and bring them warm milk too.
Quite clearly player power was at work and the suits took the easy way out and sacked the man responsible for their only respectable season since 2007.
Who were these favourites you speak of? More Frans nonsense you heard from the auntie of an unnamed player?
When Jake left he took success with him, and as for 2007, what exactly did Jones do? Tell me exactly, or is it another pile of nonsense you picked up on your weary bandwagon journeying? Where was this change Jones brought about 45 minutes into the Samoan test before Frans came on? Nowhere. Before Frans came on it was exactly the same Bok team from the Tri Nations. And we played no differently the remainder of the tournament.

After seeing how well prepared and smart Japan was this World Cup, any union would be foolish to bypass Eddie Jones if he's available.
In charge of a team like England with that talent at his disposal? Real threat to the SH dominance.
I found Lancaster's leadership ambivalent. Game plan, personnel inconsistent. It showed in the way England played and their results where they would be world beaters one minute and then laying eggs another. At least you don't get ambivalence with White.

Jones will never work with Englands board. They will clash. You must remember Oimatey, Japan have the base material already in their league. They have been a very good attacking team for some time now, the Boks did not respect that and allowed Japan to play their game.

Coach Belichick of the Patriots has the philosophy of taking away every opponents number one (sometimes two or three) option and forcing them to find another way to win. The Boks thought they could beat Japan ball in hand comfortably. So while Jones has undoubtedly done a good job, keep in mind that those skills do not exist in either SA or England. Attacking rugby comes very naturally to the Jap anese, so a coach who likes to attack is obviously going to have a field day with that. Jones' greatest obstacles with Japan is height and size. Those are the qualities which would allow him to take more liberties were he coaching England, as they have plenty of power at their disposal.

Jake White is a useless coach who keeps putting his foot in it as he has done yet again here.
The last thing England need is Joke White.....average coach who happens to be a complete prick.
Lancaster must go, I dont rate him never have.....he is far too conservative. England, like SA need Kiwi coaches.....the best coaches in the business.
Although I'd be more than happy with Ackerman and Swys de Bruin as the next Bok coach

Conservative? Attempting to adopt the All Black model and move away from England's traditional strengths must be the most radical thing one can do in rugby! You have interesting estimation of what is conservative.
And Jake, one of the handful of people over the past twenty years that Saffers can be proud to have represent them, but then, aren't you English Dave?

Jones did virtually nothing. We won playing Jake rugby, end of discussion. The reason he was under threat was because of Cheeky Kakson and his misfortunate byproduct Luke, and you fell for it. The politicos were also unhappy about a lack of ethnic cleansing. Jake's only low point was 2006 when a long list of injuries stretched our depth beyond its limits. Even then, his 2006 TN was more competitiv e than that of many of those before and after him.

In the year leading up to the WC useless Joke had a win record of 26%, was on the verge of being sacked but somehow held on.
Luke was a quality player, but a complete prick at the time.....are you saying useless Joke could not deal with an individual and you want to blame his demise on one player......what a joke.
Jokes squad selections outside the obvious players were pathetic......was it not him who selected stringbean Albert v/d Bergh

I said he was under pressure from the Watsons, I didn't say that it was his ultimate demise. Read
I should write a book: "The right foot, left foot approach to literacy"
And onto Jones. What did Jones change in our rugby? Lets be very clear here. We played the same counter attacking, territory game backed by solid defence that we always did. The two big revelations were JP who settled immediately on the wing against Samoa and Frans who singlehandedly sparked our campaign. Before Jean got injured it was the same team performance as the 2007 Tri Nations home games. So where was Jones' influence then? You never think before you speak.

I cannot remember when precisely Jones was brought into the Springbok set-up - but it was definitely AFTER the 2007 Tri-Nations tournament - because he was with the Springboks for only a month before the start of the 2007 WC.   So Dim Fox is delusional again - as he always is.
Jones was brought in because another hero - Coetzee - was a dud as Springbok backline coach and the team was going NOWHERE fast.   The impact of Jones were immediately clear during the Samoa and England tests in the 2007 WC - took a dip against Tonga - where they revert to the "Stampkar"  model so admired by his Dimness and then was very clear back to the model of Jones until the final - where the team reverted with near disastrous results to the "Stampkar" model,   The low point in the final was the missed tackle by Fransie on Tate - plus at least two other missed tackles in that game.   However, in the day the backline was back to kicking the sh!t out of the ball and that was definitely not according to the Jones model.  The Springboks were definitely saved by Percy's four goal kicks with one penalty added by Fransie,
Even John Smit after the final said that if Tate's break past Fransie led to a try - the Springboks would somehow have to work out how to score a try themselves to save the game.    They never did and as said Jones impact in the final was ultimately zero.
The one who NEVER EVER thinks before he writes BS on this site is clear as daylight - the Dim Fox troll who thinks he knows more about rugby than anybody else in the universe.

Yes, I really need to write that book! I didn't say that Jones was a part of the Tri Nations campaign. I did however compare the Boks performance against Samoa before Frans came on as being the same as the Tri Nations home games. Reading comprehension. Or. Maybe a little honesty.  I should correct myself, however, because it is true that Jones did two things:
  1. Sharpen the link between 9 and 10. He stressed this alot.
  2. He was the one who encouraged Schalk to distribute and that changed his game immensely, though not immediately. But the lean period of 2009-2012 is another matter entirely.
The low point in the WC was being dominated at the breakdown. We couldn't put England to the sword because we couldn't control the flow of possession. Frans was immense in that game and that move by Taite deserves a bit of credit on his part, he took a cheeky duck in the tackle and slipped away where Victor took him down. Were it not for Frans we may very well have been beaten by Samoa and the rest of our campaign may have been very different!

Delirious BS as per normal.   He suddenly got caught in his own sterile delirium again.  Suddenly he clarified what Jones' contribution was by claiming that Jones only dealt with the issue of the halfbacks and Burger - forgetting that Jones was brought on as backline consultant and that the backline does not consist of only the flyhalf and the scrummie.   Might as well - since in his philosophy that is indeed the case.   The other factor was to encourage Burger to link up with the backline - something Burger has done for years before.
So Pietersen's improbvement as  a miracle brought on without any help from the rest of the backline  and obviously Jones' involvement.   In the Samoa game in 2007 the Springboks scored 8 tries - all by backline players.   On the preceeding Tri-Natiions  the Boks in total scored 6 tries (all tests).  The Samoan test was named as being no different - but this was emphasized by the tries scored in the whole tournament:-
Total tries scored   -   36Forward tries         -     8Backline tries         -    28
So Jones had according to the Dimness made no impact on the backline performance other than to deal with the halfbacks and with the Burger issue.   That being said the Village idiot also wrote that the Samoa test could have been lost if Fransie Steyn was not brought on to replace the injured De Villiers.  When his dear Fransie came on against Samoa as the result of Jean's injury - the score was 21-7 - so how the hell would we have lost that test if Fransie did not come on?  His  dear Fransie had a minimal impact in that game in any event.  That is normal with this BSter - he writes tripe consistently.
Now onto the 2011 quarterfinal disaster,  As expected Lambie is blamed for that loss.  Must be another piece of utter BS invented in his sterile mind.   The players to blame was definitely not Lambie - but the clueless Matfield, Steyn, John Smit and Rossouw.  Matfield in that test tried to do in that match what Burger did in the Japan disaster - with an equal lack of success.  Bad news that was.
Now what can we expect from the Dim one who thinks he can write tripe consistently and than think that others would not check out whether what he writes is in fact true.  What an absolute idiot he is - especially so since according to him he is the top authority in rugby in the world.

White is not the answer for England.

What has he produced since the 2007 WC?

Nothing ... that's what?

We've seen him throw his toys on several occasions and the mere fact that he has no qualms breaking contracts should be enough of a character reference to warn all off.

He's gone from job to job to job and each time has deserted his post.

It's always about him. Me, me, me!!!

Unreliable, inconsistent, a trouble maker.

England ... stay away from this low life!!
