Like i said it's subjective and dependent on the criteria you use to assess the best lock as opposed to just saying A is better than B with no evidence to back it up.

With a finite number of positions on the reserve bench then ideally you want players that can cover as many positions as possible and from a pragmatic point of view Luatua is more valuable - therefore better than a specialist lock in that instance.

That is the criteria i was using.

I could also argue that no other locks look as dangerous making breaks as Luatua as criteria for him being the best lock.

It's early days in his career yet but all the signs point to him being a great player whereever he is employed and i'm just glad we have the luxury of players his calibre on our reserve bench.

saSUE I agree we could see more of wee white lock than Etzebeth. Reason being Etzebeth is no matfield and will be playing as a lock whilst white lock will be out on the wing avoiding Etzebeth and trying to imitate carol jane who he models his ruby on.

Please lets not compare the rolls royce of locks with a mini (mouse).

Whitelock has shown a vast amount of improvement this tournament. Looks like he's comfortable in the black jersey and the big ocassion doesn't intimidate him any longer.

Mudblood's comment about Etzebeth should have read "Etzebeth is possibly one of fthe best in the word ... it will be an interesting contest between the two this weekend" ... but instead he spoke with his head in it's usually position ... up his backside ... hence all the nonsensical mumblings.

Retallick has also impressed so far. Personally I reckon you have the better lock pair between us.

It's gonna be cracker!!
