Unfortunately that was about the only positive thing Albert did today.  His defense was putrid and he gave away a penalty as well.   His return was much anticipated - but was in fact a damp squib.

Need to make a compilation of De Allende and Kriel, trying to promote them to my British mates who are clueless to these players!

I'm working on a compilation of De Allende, Milner-Skudder and more. I've already got alot of great clips of De Allende, just waiting for the SR season to finish. Stay tuned for that Shezza.

I am looking forward to that one - as well as one on Jesse Kriel.
I am seriously worried about the fact that we do not really have a candidate to play in the no 13 position and think that Kriel may yet be the answer.
The same applies to the no 7 position - Burger seems to be more of an impact player than a starting line-up player and I think personally the real deal in that position is Labuschagne - a top class defender - a good ball carrier and passer - a top class ball protector and recoverer at breakdowns.
At 6 we have a variety of possibilities with Louw, Brussow and Coetzee topping the list.  At 8 we have Vermeulen, Arno Botha  and Whiteley - all three world class performers.
The problem is to get a backline and forward combination in place.  I would say the best we can do at present is -
15   Willie le Roux14   Francois Hougaard13   Jesse Kriel12   Damian de Allende11   Bryan Habana10   Handre Pollard 9    Faf de Klerk/Cobus Reinach 8    Duane Vermeulen 7    Lappies Labuschagne 6    Francois Louw/Heinrich Brussow 5    Pieter-Steph du Toit 4    Eben Etzebeth 3    Frans Malherbe 2    Adriaan Strauss 1    Steven Kitshoff
Problem is that the above team has too many White faces and will be unacceptable to the politicos.   I would augment it by including players like Beast, Nyakane, Pietersen, Hendriks, Kolisi, Mnisi, Ngubene, Mvovo and Mapoe to the squad of 32 players.  Maybe even one or two others as well - and by making sure that at least 4 of 5 of them are in the matchday squads.   That would be fine in the Round Robin stage - in the quarterfinal, semi-final and final only the best player combinations should be utilized - otherwise we could easily get a repeat of the Cricket World Cup fiasco.
I am very sorry for Philander - I am sure he feels terrible about that fiasco.
