All hail to Meyer the great all is forgiven. Good performance by the Boks against minows.
What a player de Allende is....the guy is a freak...not only the obvious strength he has but also a great step.
Old man Schalk is still worthy.
Jean did nothing but is history anyway.  Vermeulen looked like he had not played a game in ages.
Jannie is crap....penalty machine and misses too many tackles. Malherbe was far better when he came on as was the physicality of Lood over average Matfield.

No one's saying all is forgiven for Meyer, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

You're completely right about De Allende, he's got all the potential in the world. If he fulfils even 75% of it then we'll be talking about him for a very long time.

Schalk is an inspiration, captain material now that jean is gone?

And I dunno, I though Jean was decent, gutted for him I really am. Must be the most unclucky player ever for South Africa.

Duane will come good, even with no match fitness he was decent.

Jannie didn't have the best of days, maybe start him of the bench and give Malherbe the start on the weekend.

Lood was a monster, you're right. But, Matfield was decent too, certainly not average.

Yeah make Schalk captain as Matfield should not start and is a domineering figure in a negative way.
Matfield should not be anywhere near the match 23.
Malherbe is far better than Jannie

I have said that I really felt sorry for Jean and I hope he recovers asap.   \There is one thing that is evident - he can be criticized for performance - but that does not take away from the fact that he is a good leader and a person admired by the squad members.   For that reason I think he should return to the team and be the non-playing captain until the end of the RWC.
There are major problem with Matfield -
*   he is not the best lock in the squad and both Etzebeth and De jager are better performers than him and to make him captain would be detriment to our forward pack; and
*   he is a divisive person in the squad and it is evident that he will not have the same level of respect and loyalty frpo, squad members in his case.
In the latter regard I wish to refer a clash he had with Bismarck only last week in the Japan game and the fact that he was not really acceptable as coach, captain and player in the Bulls Super 15 set-up.    The latter was confirmed by his release by the Bulls of his coaching contract with them.
If Meyer intended to accept Matfield as the captain - he would have made an immediate announcement.  However, all that was said was that the captain for the Scotland Match would be made on Wednesday.   I have a feeling that Matfield may not even play against the Scots - he came off with a injury on Saturday - so it may not be clear what is going to happen as to the captaincy.

In your dreams OuMaaik, Matfield's going nowhere . You & ouDawie need to simply suck it up & I'm sure HM's currently very happy with his locking trio . I am .
