"There's a massive flare in the sky before the incident so I'm sure a few people might have been filming anyway and the footage of the missile hitting happens very close to where anyone filming the flare would have been filming anyway."

Convenient "massive flare" for sure.

CM the political powers that are in office in Canada will milk this tragedy dry to enhance their standing at every opportunity and believe me the PM is just the right person to perform that evil deed.

Most of the "Canadians" lost in that takedown of the aircraft are ex Iranians residing in Canada and mainly from Ontario and Quebec so I would expect more reactions out of those provinces than here in British Columbia.

Sadly it is a disaster no matter who or where they resided or came from.

May they all rest in peace.

Deliberate or mistake this  has hugely undermined Iran's credentials  as a potential member of the  nuclear club. You can't make mistakes with the bomb.

It is scary to have Iran with any form of a bomb. The missiles they targeted at the American bases in Irak missed by accident or intentionally, and now the civilian airline was hit intentionally or by accident. They seem totally incompetent in addition to being crazy, and can't be trusted with weapons.
The one thing though is that the threats they got from Trump might have sent them into a panic saying things like if Iran makes threats it is the end of Iran etc. However, even without Trump- the threat of Iran has always existed - it is just not clear how to solve the problem. If they are left they could create a nuclear bomb, if they are attacked they could create a nuclear bomb- so no easy answer. Hopefully, there is a revolt in Iran that overthrows their own government.

After the missiles were fired 6 other aircraft took off on the same flight path but only the Ukrainian aircraft was attacked. Why.

Checked the USA TV stations and no mention of these new attacks.

Presumably, they are not covering the latest attacks (?) because President Trump is not involved.

Hope that it is a false report...........

Same here - found something about a road side bomb killing two American soldiers in Kandathar Province - but that is in Afghanistan,

Bush started the mess in Afghanistan 18 years ago and Obama added insult to injury.   Damn the lot - the moment the Impeachment Charade is over - get the US ground troops out of Afghanistan and if the Taliban attack and murder people sent in a few missiles to take out their leaders and they will soon learn to behave themselves.

A similar situation happened in 1983 when Stanislav Petrov a colonel in the Soviet Air Defences recei ved notification that an intercontinental ballistic missile was heading their way.He disregarded the info and reasoned that the States would be sending more than just one if they struck.
Apparently the false alarms were caused either by a rare alignment of sunlight or high altitude clouds.

CM just to update you on the reaction to the above as per your earlier question.

The CEO of Maple Foods in Ontario has come out strongly and blamed President Trump for the incident.

His alliance, of course, is "A Liberal" out of Ontario which is the PM's stronghold and the platform for electing Liberals federally.

One down and counting......expect many more to come forward with the same claims.

FOUR MORE YEARS.
