The second issue relates to why Zelensky was elected in the first instance. He was elected on the basis of cleaning up corruption in the Ukraine. This include the US involvement in corruption under Obama, in which Biden played a key role. It includes the famous $1 billion threat about firing the Prosecutor involved in investigating the company of which Biden's son was a Director, as well as the involvement under the previous Ukraine President in the 2016 US election.
As recently as May this year three Democrat Senators wrote to the Ukraine Government to threaten them to co-operate with the Mueller Investigation in an effort to prove Trump was colluding with the Russians in the 2016 election. The Mueller investigation did not meet the Democrat requirements and now the origins of the Russian Hoax involving Australian, Ukranian, UK and Italian officials in the scam.
That could land senior DP officials in jail and the DP has option but to try to divert attention away from their own misdeeds. It is clear it is going nowhere, The House has not voted on starting Impeachment proceedings - preventing the Republicans from calling for witnesses and asking for documents relating to the issues involved.
