If by chance someone had never heard of disinfectant, and they went to the shop to buy some- they are going to select a known brand name that is available.

Social Media are not liable for what other people say on their platform because they are not a publisher. 

Trump is arguing that because they censor "certain" content, it makes them a publisher- and therefore liable for content that other people post 

Trump is saying that because they censor right-wing alt-right content (Hate Speech) - it makes them a publisher. 

If Trump's allegation was true, it would be illegal for Twitter to remove any content from their platform. That means anyone could take legal action against Twitter for removing content on the basis of restricting freedom of speech. 

If Trump's allegation was true, it would also make Twitter "liable" for the content that anyone posts. They would be in constant legal action. 
That would be the end of social media...

Twitter should be removing hate speech - especially when it gets lots of impressions (views). A president also has less personal rights t o criticism because they are representative of a nation- and not just themselves.
Fact-checking shows on Trump's post's because he does not provide evidence to support his claims. They are myths based on distorted half-truths. 

The media is the 4th estate. The watchdog to make sure the 3 legal government estates are transparent and accountable to the public. An essential part of the functioning of any democratic country. Social Media is the new 5th estate. This is the watchdog of the media and 3 estates. Now an integral part of Democracy. 

Unfortunately, for Trump, he gets restricted because he is spreading hate speech and conspiracies - without providing evidence with supporting arguments. 

The problem for Trump is that it is not just Twitter - it is all the social media channels that are increasingly censoring Trump. 

Trump is trying to interfere with the functioning of Democracy (multiple views) by putting pressure on social media. The online space is America's cash cow- so he is going to run into many barriers.
