Lets get back to the war situation.  Secretary of State Blinken honored South Africa and tried to force the SA Government to support the warmongering USA in banning Russian imports.   He was so bad that even the SA media called him Blinky - notorious for lying bout the Afghan withdrawal last year.

He was given a lecture by the SA Foreign Affairs Minister about the need for peace negotiations in Ukraine - not undermining such negotiations by sending in weaponry to prolong  the War.   Putin accepted the Minsk agreement on 2-15 on the issue of Ukraine - the USA never did.   Putin wanted the implementation of the agreement and still wants is,   He will withdraw Russian troops if the agreement is indeed implemented - the USA at all costs do not want it because it would do exactly what the USA did in the Vietnam War in 1964. - up arms production factories and send unemployed people to fight their War in Vietnam - with weapons being provided to both sides to prolong the War.

Everything Biden touched in the USA turned to shit - so like in the case of Vietnam,  a War is needed to save the President  - but this time around not an active war involving the USA, but a proxy war.     Anybody favoring peace is made out to be Putin supporters. - but that is not so. I  oppose war in any area in the world - but the USA politicians gets kickbacks from thee Arms Industry and that is enough to keep any war going.           .      .

"I can’t see how the elderly, just scraping buy, will find a few thousand extra next year"

They aren't, and they won't.... and not just the elderly

I can’t see how the elderly, just scraping buy, will find a few thousand extra next year.

It remains to be seen. The general population of Europe is right now largely now in favor of supporting Ukraine. There is an acknowledgement among them that though times are very tough right now, what Europeans are experiencing pales in comparison to what the people of Ukraine are going through. Winter might be enough to overturn that sentiment but that remains to be seen.

European governments are not sitting idly by and have taken measure and more may follow.

A lot of anger may be also turned towards energy companies who are posting record profits at the moment because it seems they are raising prices far more than necessary to cover their additional costs.

Secondly not all of Europe's economic woes are caused by the energy crisis. Brexit in the UK being an example. Some may direct their anger that way as well.

Ultimately we are just going to have to wait and see what happens in winter. What I do know is the Russian economy will be hit far more severely and while Russia may not run of out energy, far more Russians well face unemployment and poverty than the populations of European countries. Whether they turn their anger on Putin when he can brutally clamp down on them is another factor.

…or magically turn the 3% “green” energy into 30% in the next two months.

A lot more than 3% of European energy is green. Think the EU 27 reach 22% back in 2020.

So Putin merely signs another 137000 troops into service next January.
During the Stalin era troop loses meant nothing, the Germans found out.
I would estimate at least 50000 Ukrainians soldiers out of the war by now.

These would be front line forces, how does one replace them?

So Putin merely signs another 137000 troops into service next January.
Signing a decree is one thing, actually getting 137,000 troops is another.
During the Stalin era troop loses meant nothing, the Germans found out.
This isn't the Stalin era. If  Putin wasn't concerned about the political and economic ramifications of conscription he probably would have already introduced it by now.

I would estimate at least 50000 Ukrainians soldiers out of the war by now.
Well in terms of total deaths and causalities and prisoners taken that could be accurate enough though in the case of wounded which would make up the majority some of them could already be back in service. Difficult to know.

Russian causalities are even higher though as a proportion of the forces deployed its probably not significantly different from Ukrainian losses.
These would be front line forces, how does one replace them?
Ukraine at the start of the conflict had a a population slightly larger than France did in WW1. In total over the course of that war France was able to mobilize 8,317,000 into its army (475,000 where Colonial troops though) , suffered 4.2 causalities and 1.3 million dead.

Not that I want anything like that to happen in Ukraine, but its just pointing out the potential manpower it can mobilize and what countries of comparable size have endured in the past when in war.

The Ukrainian's claim to have now got up to 700,000 into army uniforms. That doesn't mean fully trained or fully equipped. I don't think its disputed that in terms of military personal involved in the conflict Ukraine does currently outnumber Russia and its proxy forces, but the ratio of combat capable and trained troops involved in active fighting at the front is difficult to know.

Don't ever speak on behalf of the UK bark... you were probably stupid enough to follow when "the UK" told us there were weapons of mass destruction so we could fuck up an entire region of the planet for those ugly fat fucking bacon eaters across the sea. Nothing fucking changes... lefties always sniffing out shit and pigging out on it.

Listen to the military mathematics here...you have it all wrong.

This will shock you.

It is quite a lengthy discussion but extremely interesting.

All 3 know what they are talking about and they do it in an honest, professional and mature way.

An outstanding discussion, you will learn more from this than you will ever by reading reading the tripe and misinformation from any biased and tainted media.
