christain leilafano, joe tomane, nigel ah wong, fotu auelua, jordan smilier, jarred butler, will skelton, peter betheam.
with all these NZ born players in the aussie teams, one might be excused in thinking that no matter what team wins its going to be an all NZ final anyway, LMAO,
but seriously, hurricanes should beat the brumbies and beat them comfortably. brumbies are poor mans south african team, all they have is a rolling maul lineout attack option which is a shame cos of the stars in that backline.
and while their rolling maul from a lineout is worrld class, hurricane have plumtree as their forwards coach. and as we all knowrolling maul def and atk is the first and only thing saffa coaches learn,
the highlander waratahs match is going to be a close affair though.
both teams a very similar with the way they attack and defend, but i give the tahs the tiniest advantage cos theyre at home.
but when u look at the two teams on paper, man for man the higlanders are better team everywhere except openside flanker and the locks.
GO THE MIGHTY MIGHTY HURRICANES & HIGHLANDERS!!!

Yeah Naruto that unwarranted home ground advantage still annoys the shizz outta me !But I suppose a handicap system is needed else it would be nothing but Kiwi teams playing in all the finals all the time .
24 Jun 2015, 06:34#5
Hey guys long time. Canes to win the title easily . All Aussie Final? Yeah and pigs well fly. While Brumbies had a good performance. It was a reflection of a very poor Stormers performance and side. Canes momentun, form, home advantage should beat Brumbies easily. I don't think Landers well win, they are good enough. But Tahs well win Canes Tahs final, Canes in a thriller.

Claydog som eyears ago I suggested oz would be a threat in years to come as they began to import Samoan, Fijian and Tongan backs thereby muscling in on nz rugby poaching preserves.
This has been happening and I for one would not be surprised if it is an all Oz final.
I guess if we in SA could solve the problems I listed the wee abs would be lucky to maintain 3 in the world?
24 Jun 2015, 14:32#7
We dont import them havent for farking EYE-EARS dummy .WE breed ours ! Besides seeing as how you dont have anything invested at this stage of the comp maybe you should stick a fork in it eh fatty ?No stupid we will leave number 3 for whoever wants it ,you have had it for so long now you should be used to it it should fit yer head shape nicely by now.!We will just stick with our usual Number One Ranking .Yer only problem is winning other than in yer fantasies ,you know like how you actually thought the Boks had won in Dunners in 2012 ? Remember that ? You know how you had convinced your stupid self you had beaten tthe ABS ? Remember ?
24 Jun 2015, 14:44#8
Claydog ... it's possible. You have two quality sides competing.
The Canes are coming off a by so a loss of momentum could aid you ... they're gonna be hungry though and the Brumbies have traveled ... it's a tough ask but on the day ... I wouldn't write them off.
Should be a cracker.
Me, I have my money on the Highlanders to take the trophy.
Good luck!!
24 Jun 2015, 16:21#9
Brumbies to pull the upset against the Hurricanes. Highlanders will thump Waratahs.
Brumbies have the best defense in the comp (allowed fewest tries), have the strike runners outside (although missing Speight hurts), a good scrum and lineout, can play the territory game with Mogg, but with Pocock and Fardy they have intelligent flankers that can slow the ball down and create turnovers. Vaeia (or however you spell it) - their #8 is a handful. I think they have a high level of rugby IQ and team cohesion and are very well coached. It will be a massive ask against a Canes team that has been stellar but they have shown they can travel and win in the playoffs in the past.

I had my money on the Landers for the last 2 months I think, but the travel might tell in the end. I don't see the Ozzies winning this, but anything can happen in finals.
25 Jun 2015, 05:53#11
You do realize that the Canes have had the wood on the Landers this year. Last time Canes wan 56-20. So if were going by history Canes Landers in the final, I would go with Canes. Brumbies have travelled too much. And can't beat kiwi sides. Saders put them away. And so well canes at home. Sorry its a dream to think the Brumbies are going to win, Canes by at least 15 points. I don't see Landers winning. Canes Tahs final in Welly.

brumbies have all danced all year to two beats, territory and rolling maul lineouts. that formula wins u sweet fudge all, just look at the saffas rugby trophy cabinet.
brumbies have best defence??? big whoop, they also had the 8th best attack.
hurricanes on the other hand had the comps 2nd best attack and 2nd best defence scored more tries than everyone.
but heres the biggest problem with those numbers i just mentioned above, take into consideration the NZ opposition both the brumbies and hurricanes faced.
brumbies vs NZ teams
crusaders - loss
highlanders - win
cheifs - loss
blues - loss
hurricanes vs NZ teams
crusaders x 2 - 1 win, 1 loss
highlanders x 2 - 2 wins
chiefs x 2 - 2 wins
blues x 2 - 2 wins
brumbies played 4 NZ teams, blues, crusaders, highlanders and chiefs once and won only one game.
hurricanes played those same teams twice, and lost only one game.
when u look at the teams who played in the finals plus the crusaders who should have been there had it not been for the SARU enforced welfare rule,
brumbies vs top 6 teams plus stormers
vs stormes- loss
vs crusaders - loss
vs waratahs x 2 - 2 losses
vs higlanders - win
vs cheifs - loss
hurricanes vs top 6 teams plus stormers
vs stormers - win
vs crusaders x 2 - 1 win 1 loss
vs higlanders x 2 - 2 wins
vs cheifs x 2 - 2 wins
vs waratahs - loss
brumbies played those teams in the regular season a total of 6 times winning once.
hurricanes played those same teams a total of 8 times winning 6.
now for the final opposition comparison, brumbies vs hurricanes vs bottom 6 teams
brumbies vs bottom 6 teams
vs rebels x 2 - 1 win, 1 loss
vs cheetahs - win
vs reds x 2 - 2 wins
vs blues - loss
vs force x 2 - 2 wins
hurricanes vs bottom 6 teams
vs rebels - win
vs sharks - win
vs reds - win
vs blues x 2 - 2 wins
vs force - win
despite the brumbies playing the bottom feeder teams 8 times, they only managed 6 wins.
hurricanes played the bottom 6 teams only 6 times, but like a champion team put them all in their place.
its one thing to want the brumbies to win over the hurricanes, but thats not based on anything to do with logic, its based on the adage that any team can win on its day.
if the hurricanes dont beat the brumbies, than its an upset of epic proportions, only the All Blaacks not winning the RWC would be a bigger upset.

This is the Canes year! If not them, the Brumbies will have it. My money is on those two. Hurricanes v Brumbies is very hard to call, but the Canes really should take it.
25 Jun 2015, 15:27#14
Naru - nice expose on why I'm probably wrong !
No doubt Canes are the team of the tourney - by a long shot. I don't have a dog in this fight and couldn't care less which team wins - just looking forward to a couple of great games, but have a gut feeling this Brumbies team is going to pull an upset.

The Brumbies have the tools to take that Canes backline out of the game. That's the danger here. The Canes must be ready for trench warfare. I believe they can do it, but anything less than 100% up front and they could be in trouble. I believe the Brumbies have won the last two or three games on Canes turf, so that should be warning enough.

Time for the Ozzies to kick nz butt! Blowhard canes have soft pack. Highlanders abit better.
Go Warts and Brumbies take no lip from the kiwi netballers!!
