That was the best team performance I have seen in ages.It was more how the whole team clicked as a unit- than individual performances. The option taking, the offloads and timed supporting runs were excellant. They started playing their own game of rugby instead of getting pulled into trench warfare. Once the lead was unsurmountable the flood lights opened up. ABS are really peaking at the business end of the tournament.

There was a RWC where we looked unbeatable in the semi but the Boks won it. It ain't over yet but man do I love a game like the one we just watched.

Sharkbok the convent gi rks under 13 would defend better. Francd were atrocious and played worse than munnow sides. Coach should resign after this day of shame.

He has already resigned Beeno, even before this game this was his last. But the ABs were good so he can't take all the blame.

Simply put, this is what usually happens when France play NZ, huge losses! They also had a player coup as Saint Andre was snubbed by his players, so the team was being run by the players in the build up to this game. Not good.
New Zealand, on form, have been the more vulnerable of the "big 3". Looking ragged at times. Is age creeping up, or will they generate a little more momentum? Lots of experience in the team. The French were not able to sufficiently test them. Their gameplan is, off the top of my head, the most ridiculous I've seen. Well, almost. Using Jean at 14 with a compressed line, encouraging the All Blacks to go wide in 2010 was equally as ridiculous. The Boks will have their own problems to overcome, as they have been losing the aerial battle ever since 2010, but they have a very good chance to make the final. They need to box clever, and select well. We need kickers in the starting XV.

DF I am sorry but you need to take your head out of your ass. NZ are the lesser of the sanzar forces lol? Based on that performance, you have to be joking. NZ are clearly the strongest, and SA are going to have to be almost perfect to even get close. And this what usually happens when France play nz huge losses Um no it doesn't. Last wc final 8-7, that was not a huge loss They also beat nz in 99 and 07, so no this was an ab team who made France look bad.

South Africa just faced the best defence in the competition. NZ played a team that was thumped by Ireland and then ditched their coach and ran themselves! Look at France' record against NZ over the past fifteen years, most have been total an annihilation.
The game they played was absolutely shocking. That defence was shameful. Who defends passively on the inside with a wing still dropped back? You can't do that against anyone. Ne Zealand  flooded into that space. It was all too easy. I guarantee you NZ will not have the same luxury against the Boks!

  DF,

"NZ played a team that was thumped by Ireland"

24-9 is a thumping? since when? untill the 72nd minute the french were in the match (17-9) so how can you talk about thumping?
Thumping is what the AB has made tonight and what will make next weekend.

The boks just edged a very depleted Wales and was completely unable to score a try till the last minutes of the game not because of the Welsh defense but because their totally predictable attack. The boks develop an antedilluvian gameplan.

The AB gave a f*cking masterclass and all those nonsenses about the players revolt or their record against the AB are no more than excuses (in 20111 there was the same revolt and they reached the final), sad excuses to not recognize the outstanding game of the AB.

"All Blacks are the lesser if the Sanzar forces."

yeah, sure,..... you tell me next week

Wales are way ahead of every other team in the competition for turnovers won, 48. NZ are on 36 and Australia 29. Wales lead the tournament in tackles made and tackle efficiency.
So, on what grounds do you make that claim? The Welsh defence is a long way better than any other team right now. Their line speed and integrity combined with physicality is outstanding! I don't give a damn about injuries, if you cannot see how well Wales have been playing then clearly you know absolutely nothing about the game.
How can we even begin to compare the Welsh with the eldest of the team out there? Who has a faster line speed? Who seals off the edge as well? Show me where these are the case. They defend with their 9 and openside wing in the line. The obvious weak point would be 15 at the back, but who has time to consistently exploit it without sitting 20 metres back? Their outside rush is unbelievable. They are Rock solid and routinely catch carriers well behind the advantage line. They force into into an arm wrestle, and have so much strength to throw at you. Australia, the best attacking team in the competition, couldn't get around them. You say they are not the best defensive team in the completion then show me where and when another is.
This is usually what happens, the loud mouths squawk in unison, but when out on the spot, they are bereft of answers. If I'm a so stupid, tell me what the "real" facts are. It would certainly be interesting to have someone formulate a retort for once! So it is, who is the best defence in the competition, and state when ad where this is the case.

The AB's optimized their chances by playing a totally disorganized French team yesterday.  I grant that they were much better than expected - but the signs were there from the word go.   The Irish rubbished the French as well last week.
The French allowed the AB's to play their game to the maximum by not drawing in their forwards and forcing them to play a much tighter game up front.   I expect a much different game this coming weekend and the outcome may be much closer - more likely something like the RC tests last year and this year.

"Wales lead the tournament in tackles made and tackle efficiency."

Wrong, very wrong,...... they are not leading the "tackle efficiency" as you call it. They are 5th in tackle success:

Ireland            90.82%
South Africa     89.6%
Scotland          88.2%
New Zealand    86.75%
Wales              86.57%

and they are leading the overall tackles made just because they have played 1 more game than many teams. In the average tackles made per match they are 6th:

Scotland         146.25
Italy               142.25
Samoa            131.75
Namibia          128.5
Georgia           128.00
Wales             126.6

however, all the stats that you could bring doesn't change that the bok attack is predictable and easy to defend

I base it on NZ stuttering performances which have been well documented. Heck, they were even dominated by SA who were in flux in the RC.
Those stats, I don't know where you got those but I have read differently from several sources. Either way, it's visibly clear, Wales shut down attacks better than any side right now. They had England, South Africa, Australia and Fiji and only conceded three tries as of yesterday. A poorly thought rebuttal on your part.
We will see what happens in the SF. I have predicted that New Zealand will adopt an entirely different game one akin to what they usual employ against the Boks. They'll kick, not "run us off our feet". They strike in our half, not from deep. The usual. However, will they have breakdown superiority? They've been struggling there. I would wager the Boks win this battle. Either way, the Boks will not concede so easily a we'll see how accurate your assessments are. I will do as I have always done, play the waiting game. The truth will be there for all to see. So until then, it'd be better to be quiet.

Gee they really stutter stepped all over the French ,and how have your boys done against the ABs of late ? Deal with the facts ya mong like Wales not winning against the ABs in 62 years and Argentina never both teams that have won against the Boks lately ,even the wobs got their butt kicked the last time they went against the ABs .And dominated by the Boks ? Do you mean the game your boys lost in their "fortress " ? What a joke you are dingus .

DF, I would treat your post on the ABs victory seriously if it started with "congratulations". Otherwise it just sounds like sour grapes. What we saw last night was some fantastic AB rugby. Even if France was a minnow team - which they are not - the AB performance was terrific.
Still, no worries mate... the Boks are still peaking... through a foggy window at a great performance.

 DF,

"And those stats. I don't know where yoymu hot those but I havevread differently."

Firstly, a little more care spelling would be apreciated.
I took them from the RWC site, very probably the same place you got yours, or at least they are the same ("Wales... for turnovers won, 48. NZ are on 36 and Australia 29.")

http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/stats/2015/teams

The issue is that you don't know reading a stat and the only "Utterly poorly thought out rebuttal" is yours. The same that I wrote for the tackles and "tackles effieciency" applies for the turnovers, when you said:

"Wales are way ahead of every other team in the competition for turnovers won, 48. NZ are on 36 and Australia 29."

you are wrong because you are considering only the overall turnovers made:

1 Wales 48 2 Fiji 41 3 Georgia 36 4 New Zealand 36 5 France 34 6 Romania 34 7 South Africa 34 8 Ireland 31 9 Samoa 30 10 Uruguay 30 11 Australia 29
but you don't consider that wales have played one more match than many teams. When you make the average per match you obtain another diferent order:

Fiji            10.25 turnovers/match
Wales        9.6 turnovers/match
Georgia     9

and Wales are NOT "way ahead of every other team", in fact they are not even ahead.
The stats that you brought to try to prove that "The Welsh defence is a very long way better than any other team right now" are utterly useless to prove what you were trying to prove. And your statement saying that they are leading the turnovers, tackles and "tackles efficiency" is wrong.

the rest of your argumentation is based on your useless opinion and your statement "All Blacks are the lesser if the Sanzar forces" is pure BS,...... man, you lost against Japan!!!!!
and Argentina at home,.... and Australia,..... and New Zealand at home,.... and Wales,..... and Ireland..... only this last year

AB fans, please excuse Dumbfox, he's just your average F*ckwit. The way I see it is the Boks are going to moer you up front and bash you around like ragdolls with our one dimensional, unimaginative, predictable game plan. Then whatever little ball we have we will be kicking down the throats of Ben, Julian and scudd missile (if fit??) to counter attack all night long.
Now, this is where it gets interesting. This game plan will be adopted and fail miserably on not one, nor twice but on multiple occasions without any change of tactics. This is what BONEHEAD MEYER will deliver.Other than that I'm optimistic.
GO BOKKE!!

I fear you're spot on Monsterbok but there's some little part of me that reckons it's exactly that one-dimensional game plan and the inability to evolve a plan B that might work for us.

As for Desert Fool, I can't believe people still even waste their time engaging him in any kind of discussion. What Desert Fool knows about rugby can be written on the back of the world's smallest postage stamp in block capitals, in large font using a very thick felt tip pen.

DF has a point. Wales are not outright leaders in defence and turnovers, BUT if you look at the opposition they played, those figures look more impressive. Still not a good enough argument to make them the best defenders in the WC.

oh my word another post another desert fox foot in mouth moment.
dear all black fans this bloke is sadly a product of a defunkd education system please do excuse the poor gentleman as he is more a victim than anyone.
wales has more turnovers but thats shows how effective there backrow fits into there pattern.
that being said is the all blacks unbeatable.....no there are not that being said if you dont position your pattern to attack there weakspots then you are in for a very long day at the office.
we saw some cracks in the champs where both the boks and aussies targeted there rucks in a effort to disturb there flow and ruck recycling speed which i feel had a massive impact. the only managed to pull through against the boks with a well constructed line out move near the end and was aided by a very junior bok side not being able to finish off 5 chances in scoring tries....beyond that the all blacks where out gunned at the rucks and lost a lot of momentum. if you added score board pressure to that you would have had a team under pressure that does not happen that often to the all blacks.
the aussies had the right mix with pocock and hooper i feel and are the only team capable of fielding a team to attack that area of the game i feel....meyer's one eyed selections of only the retard francois who ate all the pies louw robbed us of the chance to contend that area of the game again as brussouw is among the best in the business on the dirt. small stocky build lower center of gravity which leads to the perfect physical stats to be a force at the breakdown.
apart from the breakdowns a quick off the line defence to push them back would add pressure on carter....best tactic would be to send a runner on his outer should to force him to kick outward. as well with a rush umbrella style defence it does open up the all blacks to counter with a chip in behind the defence tiers so as a counter to that meyer should maybe consider a sweeper or hope his cover defence gathers the ball. carters tactical kicking is the best in the world so if we do field kicks at 15 both peterson and habana needs to fall back to give willie options on attack. just merely kicking the ball up and trying to field it wont work against players that are way more skilled than us. if we need to kick find grass if not dont kick pretty simply game pattern.
on attack stretch them as nonu is not that solid on defence and if you attack in that 2de channel 3 channel in mid field you will find 90 % of the time space. mccaw is getting on in years and is not that quick around the park so stretching the all blacks defence will lead to some heavy legs.....attack the space not the man. if we can keep the ball up and dont try to go to ground...if we place the ball do so as far from the body as possible to ensure quick ball and making the ruck a non contest for the defence....that is very difficult to do if you choose to attack on channel 1 ball all day long.
the all blacks are the best but they are not unbeatable.....keep your ball stretch them on defence make there rucks unbearable and close down there space when defending.....attack is the best form of defence and those that go out with that mindset has had the most success against them.
