I don't care what you think Meyer thinks. I am interested in a track record which has been well documented. Feeling safer at 13, and being successful at 13 are two entirely different things.

 Maybe in the S15 with weeks of physical grinding. But all Jean's best tests have been at 12. His long suit is stepping through the first tackle, keeping his feet and offloading. Its also better spot from which to organize the defence and captain the team.
I think Allende could be very good on the kick chase and also cutting through the middle from the opposite wing. And in all honesty....apart from one good pass, most of his play yesterday was barging into people. I never really saw him in the second half and not at all in the last 20 minutes.

Jean beating the first tackle and off-loading is one aspect which was a rarity - his line breaks the same.  Insofar as breaking of tackles is concerned I think that De Allende is much stronger in breaking tackles than De Villiers - that was proven in both the Super 15 in the past two years and I think he broke more tackles in the last two tests than De Villiers did in two years in tests.    
You would not see him in the time of the game where the Boks got very few balls to play with and very little going to him - so that was one of the problems in the game yesterday.  After De Jager, Louw, Whiteley and Jannie was injured the game became a joke of non-competitiveness on the part of the Springboks - so what do you expect De Allende to do?
