Yep, Lions was robbed last week against the highlanders, but the Sharks are far to experience to let a kiwi reff stand in the way. Utter guts, and that is how you should play this game.
Why did they not show why alberts was sent off, no replay of that.
Deysel deserved to be sent off, but there was a lot of off the ball niggle by the crusties. Jordaan got taken out by Crotty after he was beaten, but at least Frans had the class to ffload and get Sithole over or what about ndolo taking out Reinach that was infront of the reff.
The only good decision by the ref was the red card, the rest was rubbish.

what a bizzarre and rubbish game. I was actually waiting for the game to start. I guess after being treated to champayne rugby by the Hurricanes and the Highlanders, I  had the delusion that today was going to be the same.
Bizzarre indeed with a capital B. The Red Card, the Yellow Card. 14 and then 13men against 15. The Crusaders lethargic UNTIL 1 MINUTE left on the clock and then they decided to let loose in the backline. Hearns the Crusaders half back making UNNECESSARY mistake after mistake eventually resulting in a try  - early subbing with Andy Ellis proves why he is no longer an All Black with Ellis letting in that last try. Slade proving why GIRLEY COWARDLY decisions to kick for penalties instead of going all out for tries NEVER pays off - BIZARRE how against 13men with 2 minutes left on the clock before Alberts comes back, Slade decides to kick a penalty to get within one point of the sharks INSTEAD of tapping and going to take advantage of the 2man advantage - BIZZARE INDEED WHY the Crusaders chose to go for those penalties instead of letting the backline go crazy and run the travelling sharks off their feet and with a one man advantage and it came back to bite them in a VERY BIG WAY. After the game, I can see the Sharks have all gone but the Crusaders players are still on the paddock walking around like stunned men wondering what the heck happened - BIZZARE WITH A CAPITAL B.

Well done sharks good win - even with disgraceful refereeing... (Not an aussie another import I believe - no aussie refs left cause no ones really cares for the game too much here unfortunately)

Wow - seriously awesome performance and what tactical genius from JW - he truly is the best coach in this comp now that Link has moved on to Wallabies.

WD and need I say SUCK IT HARD KIWIS....

BTW Taufua was cheating when he got the stomp - I agree yellow each would have been fairer - I note Heinz using the boot @ the bse of a ruck and simply warned "don't use the boot"..

Anyway every knows the kiwis are the best at cheating in rugby... they've nationalised it - shame the just don't play FAIR...............

3 IQ if you think that giving a sharks player a red early in the game and then a yellow and giving the wee crusties dubious penalties that Justin Marshall pointed out are foavouring the sharks you are far far GONE
King Corn given the provocation a red was defintely NOT called for.
Warped DUD  I at least apologised for getting very annoyed about the ref. You go and look at some most unfortunate comments by crusader, nuked bird brain, moooo la and black udder!Only Jw almost acquited hims elf well.

Of course the error in your reasoning, perception, judgment, spelling, vocabulary, etc. is still evident. But step-by-step, one has to be patient

Seriousley i fwel sorry for redsman abd beenk cant beat nz fairly, so have to resort to cheating clsims bla bla bla. Everyobe knows sa and oz get their ass handed to them every year, nz fans when we lose, we so it with class. We dont moan about the refs perfirmance, partic cos were nt allowed too. We dont act like morons overhyping controversy, and acting like its all predetermined cos its nt. Oz and SA combined cnt beat NZ, so all uve gt is use the ref as an excuse, oh nz are known for cheating, you wpuldent bw saying that if u wan, ur just saying that cos you lost. For the record saders lost cos they resorted to sa run of play tactics, made schoolboy errors and tactics, and went looking for kicks at goals. Wheres sharks wnt all kiwis and wnt for trys. Look i acknowldge Saders deserved all the penalties they got, but your acting all oh shucks really me? Sharks were infrinfing just as bad, come on, so offside at ruck its nt even funny. Considring the circumstances its onlt logical to presumw ref wan the game for Sharks. And im sorry but the fact your still trying to justify Deysel stepping on a players face, regardless of the reason behind it says it all, ignoring all the facts. But because its controversial its all over hype!! When really its just human error simple as that, stomping on a players face is disgusting, no excuse in the book can condome that.

Deysel deserved a red ....if he didn't look down at him and then stomp on his face...it may have been a different story...I'm not saying taufua wasn't illegally holding his foot ...as he clearly was....but it's dog act to stomp on someone's face ...intensionaly...which also clearly happened...deysel will get 6 -8 weeks  and deserves it!!!

Crusader#1: yup, he deserved the red, even if provoked. If that type of vicious retaliation is allowed the game will turn into unmitigated violence. It is already controlled violanece & always has been. If you take the control  out of it it's game over. 6-8 weeks is a good call but he may get a reduced sentence if he has been a good boy before & because it may be argued he was provoked.

Deysel is not known as a dirty player - no further sentence required and an apology by the ref would be nice.
Now please could all the kbbs pull themsleves together.
I appeal particulary to 3 IQ who feels a red card early in the game and a yellow and dubious penalties meant that the ref was favouring the Shakrks. Please get over it. Next time tell the ref to get S harks down to 12 men and maybe you can do it.Bwahahahhahahaha

What does all this mean fo the RC. I still have little doubt we can win it. We shall have to see who Meyer picks and what the game plan is. We must intoduce a bit more on attack. If all our players are fit its ouch time for the wee kiwis! You saw what the sharks did.

Hi Cloudy, you will probably tear all your hairs out at the LACK OF URGENCY in the Saders even against 14 and then 13 men UNTIL THE LAST REMAINING MINUTE and then knock on and GAME OVER. No urgency at all during the whole 79minutes to go for a 4 Try Bonus Point or put more than 7 points between them and the Sharks to lead the Table and have a Home Semi-Final - SAD really, they were the masters of their own destiny and they let it slip. Oh well.

Let me take the passion out of this discussion and state some facts.   The Crusaders has a nasty habit to try and play off the ball by holding players back  and most times they get away with it.    The issue started with the Sharks try - when Crotty grabbed the shirt of Jordaan to prevent him from going forward.   That type of play is illegal and unprofessional - and he should have been yellow-carded there and then.   It was not and kept raising its head throughout the game.    If it was - then the players would have been more careful.
Take for instance the Deysel incident - he tried to get away and the ball was already 5 meters away -  however, the Crusaders player was hanging on to him.   First offence a professional foul - secondly a stomping incident - which I do not condone at all.
The red card was fully justified - but the initial professional foul was clearly shown in the replays and should not have been over-looked.   What the Crusaders player did was a yellow-card offence in the first instance - and since it was not the first in the match - the Crusaders player should have been yellow-carded.
Both incidents mentioned was unprofessional and since it was never penalized - gave the Crusaders the green light to keep on doing it later in the game.
I am really delighted by the Sharks win and they thoroughly deserve the win.  Steyn started of extremely well - but as the game progressed - he went backwards.  I think the two players who had crackers were Reinach and Jordaan.
I think Alberts had a poor game and he is not a number 8 at all.   His yellow card was deserved - but the Crusaders were guilty of similar offences and they were never penalized - so I think the referee will have some explaining to do after the game.
The Sharks - despite the loss of Deysel early - won because of the passion the y brought to the game and their tight 5 really was the better of the two combnations.

@Mike, you will find that NONE of us are disagreeing with you. The Sharks fully deserve their win hands down. They played intelligent minimalist rugby and made FULL USE of all the opportunities that came their way.
We as Kiwi fans are just lamenting the fact that the Crusaders CHOSE to play minimalist rugby as well even though they had a numerical one man advantage and chose to carry on with all the niggley negative stuff until the 79th Minute when they ALL OF A SUDDEN decided to start playing some POSITIVE running rugby instead of the negative niggley minimalist rubbish that was on show even with a one man numerical advantage. The Crusaders were the MASTERS OF THEIR OWN DEMISE (did you like that one Cloudy?)

Sharks fully deserved their win. They played with an intensity seriously lacking in the Crusaders who seemed to bumble along thinking the win for them was a formality.Doesn't excuse what the thug Deysel did though......hope he gets banned from the rest of the tournament. Hanging on to someone's foot is no reason to stomp on his face even though Hasbeeno has pathetically suggested this as a mitigating factor.Goes to show the psyche of SA rugby in general; cheap and nasty shots continuing to tarnish their image.Refs have memories too so don't complain at being "picked on" in the near future!

If you look at the rucks they contested there were more hotly contested than on the Crusaders 22 and beyond to put pressure on the half back and 1st five so that clearance would be a problem and they win back the ball. They do not contest every ruck but the ones they chose to do so they contest with FEROCITY.

The problem is that the Crusaders played a devious game and it seems as if it is part of their standard play.  I can remember an incident in the Crusaders game against the Stoiremers were Burger had to fight like hell to get loose from a hanging on by a Crusader player.  He hit him repeatedly on the arm to get away.
After the game the Crusaders justify it by saying the Chiefs is worse in doing it - as if it is not illegal and they just do it occasionally, the Chiefs are the real culprits.
Playing unprofessional and illegal rugby is seemingly part and parcel of the Crusaders game and it should be cut out.   We all know that Deysel is a dimwit and I have nothing against his red-carding.  However, I doubt whether he would get more than a one week ban - if that.    McCaw always played dubious and partl y illegal games and try to get away in breaking the rules, why did it wash onto others?

Mike well said re the crustacions illegal play. Thye tried by holding Deysel to take a defender out.  Its very trypical nz stuff. Now there is a minor response, a drama queen display by an unhurt player and the kiwis are squealing blue murder.
Take the comment from the halfwit mooooo la:Goes to show the psyche of SA rugby in general; cheap and nasty shots continuing to tarnish their image.Refs have memories too so don't complain at being "picked on" in the near future!
Mooo la thinks Saffa sides must simply take their cheating and no sanction by the ref and lie down and die. No moooo la the trouble here was the crusaders player. I trust the panel will do Deysel justice. However we have repeatedly found there is one rule for kiwis and another for Saffas.
I think SARFU may need to step in here and complain about repeated kiwi red zone infringements and off the ball incidents. It's no use keeping quiet. At least the twiy who reffed the Lions game copped it I hear. Keep complaining SARU and Saffa Super 15 coaches. One day we might get a fair deal.Enough is enough!
